Increase Repawn Rate of Veteran Event

Agree so much - its easily the worst daily to appear. One of the only ones I sometimes just don't complete because I forget I need to camp a random spot for a spawn just to complete it. The daily itself should be taken out of the rotation, or it should just cause them to spawn more often.

Reducing the 10 min respawn timer to 5 min would allow people to kill, return to spawn, wait 4:30 minutes in a safe spot and then dash out to kill the veteran again ... and repeat - with no change of every losing participation.
The 10 min timer at least will decrease the participation, if you do the same as written above, because the event only replenishes the timer to 5 minutes.
It would be better to add  one or two more Veterans with events to the map (e.g. in the north east of Alpine, IIRC there is a Veteran Arctodus near the Mill, which could be the counterpart to the Wurm) than make the event go down to a five minute respawn.

They ought to just remove participation from the Veterans, if that's why the unreasonably long respawn timer exists.

Scouts sometimes need the small participation boosts, when doing stuff that is of tactical worth for the server, but does not award participation (like, flipping earth shrines to get the reveal back in DBL, following havoc teams and keeping clear from sentries to not get spotted etc.). Not getting any participation from repairing (e.g. scouting a tower that only got the gate guards killed and the gate slightly damaged) is already a thing the scouting play style has to cope with.

The Veteran respawn usually only is a "problem" when it is a daily.

They could still remove participation from vets and add it to other sources.  Flipping shrines and repairing should grant participation, and increased rewards should be given for escorting yaks and the like.

That, or as others have said, expand the vets it applies to.  That shouldn't be hard at all.

it's funny how you can get credit toward the achievement for escorting yaks by simply escorting the yak for mere seconds, but to gain participation, you must actually get credit for the event, which requires escort for maybe half of the route. participation also rewards 2 minutes on the participation bar.

 

and yes, it would be nice if the other veterans counted toward the veteran daily. there's at least 6 on desert, but only the south 3 count.

 

at least they said they're working on the next round of reward improvements...

I can't count how many times I or someone else has been jumped waiting for the vet or even in the middle of killing the vet.  This content like capping a ruin that your team already owns (or has no hope of capturing you're just doing it for the 2 mins participation) may not be "participating" but both activities have a high chance of producing a fight, atleast the current definition of a fight in wvw.
