Tyrians are celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit with fireworks, games, delicious Canthan food, and prizes." so i think they got the message from us about festival foods or they forgot to take this part off. I thought the speculation was research notes. I think if we see food in LNY then we can safely assume it was for that reason. If there was a statement as to why I just didn't see it.
