Guardian is getting dual pistols

But since guardians with exceptions of WB aren't that acrobatic I think the animation of the ultimate skill for Reaper from Overwatch would look really good as an AoE!

I'm all for them just doing away with the armor types or doing a Archeage/ESO and letting us equip specific armor types for bonuses ( condi for light, power for medium, tanky/support for heavy ).

But it is possible to do some good fashion with pistols there. It's always the same case for new weaponsets.

I agree, issues with mix matching due to clipping issues etc and work that would be needed to resolve such were the main arguments why it can't be done but couldn't u simply allow all classes to wear all armor types but not allow for combinations, so if a guard wanted to where a medium hood they would have to wear all medium etc.

The more egregious clipping would have to be fixed, but for Asura and Charr players, that ship has sailed 10 years ago.

As for allowing for mix and match, i mean, fashionwise doesn't matter much, just put clear class symbols on top of the heads on competitive pvp and you would be done with for identifying players. I'm ok if you get locked with only one armor type equipped, OR if maybe you could mix and match for theorycraft but having all six slots on the same type would give you good buffs that you wouldn't want to pass out.

     Honestly, I was not expecting this for Guardian. I fully admit I am not a Guardian main at all. This change though will make me play it more. It fits the Holy Warrior thing too. Because Van Helsing, the clerics from Equilibrium, the priests from the movie Priest, and many more come to mind. You could even do Castlevania : Dawn of Sorrow with Soma as well who used pistols in those two games. I can't wait for this to come.

This kinda ruins the fashion wars for me. I play not just for the meta but I also do fashion wars. If they wanted to give us pistols, that would be fine but let us be able to transmute to Medium or Light armor in order to match our weapons.

The whole "blue child" meme is made from confirmation bias. Guardian stuff has been messed up a few times, it's just that the combination of firebrand being so strong for so long and other professions having it worse means that when it happens, the people who are more invested in other professions forget about it and start making "immune from nerfs" memes by the next balance patch.

Any given new thing for guardians has just as much chance of being messed up as other professions (well, apart from warrior and ele, those got especially messed up with EoD). It's just less obvious because the core is solid enough to be a reliable fallback when it happens, and the core being solid means that guardian has less reworks overall (which means less chances for a rework that just makes things worse).

Yeah, I know, but as you said, it is a meme at this point and what is the internet for if not for memes. That said I still fully expect Pistol/Pistol on guardian to end up far better than prior pistol bars.

It can become a problem when people start believing the memes.

Wouldn't exactly be difficult, although that's more of an indictment on the state of most pistols at the moment, particularly MH pistols.

You really can't do worse than a melee range pistol OH though. I really think CMC was trolling the warrior profession on purpose when he did that.

     I will say this. I have more hope in Guardian getting good P/P than I do in most professions getting it. Yes, Guardian has gotten some nerfs, but overall it has been in an ok spot. And if anything, the P/P are already starting off in a better spot than the other two P/P the game has. Thief P/P has been a joke and a meme for a long time now, and it has been in need of a rework all that time. It took them years to fix Engi's P/P to finally make it in a good state to which people want to use it because it is actually good and fun to use compared to people using it because no other condi weapon really.

     So, for Guardian, I am not worried at all that it will come out in a bad spot when it come comes due to Guardians track record. It has had more highs than lows. That is one of the big reasons I am excited for it because it means I can forget about Thief's P/P because those will always be more a meme and a joke with their pitiful damage.

Yeah, one of the balancers got caught with their hand in the cookie jar... but that only really benefited Firebrand, just like for engineer is mostly benefited Mechanist.

I can see where the logic was with that in context... but that could still have been handled much better, especially if there was any inkling that they might decouple weapons from elite specialisations in the future. They could, for instance, embraced bladesworn as the gunpowder warrior and given it a MH pistol as a ranged option on top of the melee OH - one could then have used the pistol with a different OH, and I can see ways you could even synergise dual pistols with different roles.

Personally I don't have guardian as my most played for the Holy stuff, I like the mix of magic and martial prowess which pistol fits well for. I also play Asura so the priestly aspect doesn't really work there either.

It will be probably fun but sounds totally WTF to me.

I'm really confused my ranger can carry two maces or axes, my ele a warhorn, but my guardian cannot. At least it's nice to see people enjoying pistols.
