Geodes... oh god why?!

I need bloody 400 of them for my Dusk collection yet these are the worst map currency I've come across to date!

Just how does one even farm them? I just get pitiful amounts out of the events and whatnot.

You pray to any god of your choosing, do a successful backflip, and roll the dice to see if you get put into a populated instance with the sandstorm active.

You can get over 100 per sandstorm if on a T4+ map. Or check the schedules of the guilds that routinely run it.

Use the lfg, find a group running it at T4 or higher. Repeat 4-5 times over a day or a week or whatever and it will be done

Or hope for one of those currency givers from the BL chest

The fastest and least-effort way for me is to do DT map completion on different toons. 100 geodes in 25 minutes (first time) or 15 minutes (my second). I'm sure others can do it even more quickly.

In contrast, I find trying to keep up with Sandstorm events to be exhausting, although it's clearly more sustainable than map completions. [sAND] is active on NA; just look for them in LFG.

You can also use the PvP and WvW Maguuma Wastes reward track for some variety in geode farming, if you play either of those parts of the game. Completing one track will give you 300 geodes.

Just login and do the meta every X:40 hour and join the zerg (If there is one). It's at this time rewards you get the most geodes, for the least amount of time.

If there is no zerg, remember the routing and tag up.

Honestly, I've never seen anything other than Silverwastes on the LFG. Never ever Dry Top.

If you're grabbing a few keys via new toons, whether permanent or meant for keys only, you can try your luck with the BLCs. There's a current, common drop, the Tyrian Exchange Voucher that awards map or dungeon currencies. Obviously, you can't rely on RNG, but if you do this anyway, you could find yourself with 300 more geodes.

I crafted Scorpiones for poops and chortles several months ago, and I ran 5 toons through map completion to get the necessary geodes to buy recipes, etc.

Every map completion of Dry Top gives 100 Geodes. It is fast and stable - I advise that one.

Yup, and with mounts it goes even quicker now. Just map comp on all your alts.

Then you either delete one and make a new or buy another character slot.
