It is okay to have some projectiles but not the whole profession mechanics....I can't think of another spec that completely relies on projectiles for pretty much all the damage skills.

the answer is ranger and deadeye

try running either of those in a wvw group, and enjoy being laughed out of the game

they not only focus primarily around projectile damage, but they offer nothing else on top of it, which is exactly where virtuoso lands

Also rangers have signet of the hunt which gives 10 sec of unblockable as well as 25% passive movement speed when the signet is not on CD. You can also trait it to go from 40 seconds to 32 seconds which is still lower then MANY mesmer utilities ESPECIALLY the Virtuoso ones.

Why no one use them cuz there are even better utilities that they can use so to them they can afford to forget that they have a 10 second of unblockable on a 32 second CD traited, isn't that just wild?

Imho, Virtuoso could be fine if F2 was a ground-targeted area effect to have a real alternative to F1 in reflect-situations and maybe have F3 be unblockable. I don't see the need to have everything unblockable. Reflects in WvW are problematic but removing counter play is problematic as well.

It feels really bad to have your whole profession mechanic so easily shut down (projectile denial) or have all your effort (building blades, lining up shots) to be so easily punished (reflection), making you a liability with no reasonable workaround other than go somewhere else.

I don't think unblockable would be healthy, other than in Bladesong Dissonance, which would give that skill more of a purpose. I do agree with declassifying Bladesong Harmony, Sorrow, and Dissonance as projectiles so that they can still be blocked but are not affected by projectile denial or reflection.

If that creates a scenario that cannot be made balanced and healthy, consider reworking what it is the Bladesongs actually do.

Virtuoso does not need Unblockable.  We don't need a class with 1200 range 20k crits in PvP or capable of dumping 40 stacks of confusion when in close range also being completely unblockable.

Virtuoso can barely get 20k crits in Raids with the higher damage coefficients and and a team buffing the Virtuoso and debuffing the enemy. At least make your trolling believable.

10k crits are possible on glassy targets when all the stars align. 6k crits are a lot more common. Thats not a lot for the kind of investment you do on a spec that brings nothing else to the table.

This.

Also the 40 stacks of confusion is a bug and unless the target is afk is impossible to do on combat since you've to stand inside the enemy model.

So maybe you should go to ranger thread and ask them to nerf signet of the hunt and rapid fire because hell it can do more then just 20k crits, because that is a class that has a 1500 range with unblockable. Cheers~

First time hear about this 😄

yep, most rangers delude themselves that its a " feature "
and make up excuses like its arrow " curving " or some other kitten.
Truth is, its just broken and goes to 1900 range.
Try it, go to pvp, stand 1900 from the golem ( barrage has 1500 range so go over that ) and M1, and notice how much futher it can go on flat ground.
