Named Weapon drop rates for PoF specialization collections

The drop rates for the named weapons need for the PoF specializations are far far too low. It's almost impossible to find these to complete your collections without going to the TP, where the low drop rate is continually driving the price of the items higher and higher. Please provide a fixed path to acquire these items instead of depending on random change at a stupendously low drop rate.

Um, the prices on these items have steadily dropped since the launch of PoF. If the drop rate were any higher, they'd be as cheap as any other exotics out there, thus lowering the value to people who get the drops and already have them unlocked (or don't care about that).

There are plenty of collections in PoF that can't be accomplished through the TP; I think it's good if a few of them can be (as noted above, it adds value to the loot that people get).

Get higher luck

Hoard rare unidentified gear

Use all luck boosters available (food, celebration booster etc)

Get luck as high as possible

Open rare unidentified gear

Profit from all those exotics (should be some named weapons in there)

People still complain about this even though ANet implemented a solution for this in one of the patches.

I have yet to get any of the named weapons for specialized collections. (now watch me play and get 2 or 3).They are back-burner items so I'm not eyeing the TP , but I would like to know I'm making progress somewhere.

Without knowing how many Unidentified pieces of gear (and what rarity) or the amount of Magic Find you had when opening, it's not very informative to know you haven't seen them drop.

Regardless, what is wrong with having some collections be most easily done via the TP? That's not something that was just added to the game with PoF; it's been like that since launch. If anything, ANet is more likely to make collections require a combination of chance (via account bound drops), currency, and completing certain events. And all of that makes it take longer to unlock skins than simply collecting gold. Some prefer it the one way; some prefer the other — isn't it best if the game has something for all sorts of players?

The HoT Elite Spec collections required Mystic Weapons. Those could also be bought on the TP, or crafted in the MF, to the tune of 30 Mystic Coins, each. There are three dupes (specs that require the same weapon) in PoF versus two in HoT. The PoF weapons range (today) from 22 gold and change up to 37 gold and change and you'd have to buy six of them. Assuming a ball park price of 30 gold (minus the one you get for the Vabbi meta) and one is looking at 150 gold for all of them. Crafting seven Mystic Weapons would cost 210 Mystic Coins. Coins buy price at the moment is a gold, 15 silver, so 210 would be 241.5 gold. The cheapest of the Mystic Weapons at the moment (sell price) is 46 gold, the most expensive is 60. Buying all seven would be more than buying the coins. Sure, some people may have the coins, but a coin used is a coin not available to sell, so there is an opportunity cost to using hoarded coins.

It looks like the Ascended Weapons in the collections are meant to be obtained by gold. It also looks like the PoF ones are less dear, require fewer different ones, offer a way to get one via a meta event, and there is a chance of getting a drop. This does not seem unfair to me.

You also get a choice of Named Sunspear weapon upon completing Tip Of The Spear collection. (Unlock 16 Elonian Weapon Skins)

PoF Elite Weapons are by far easier to get than the HoT ones, purely because they aren’t gated behind Masteries.

I did all collections using Tp and I don't complain. Prefer this than hunting 10000000 chests to get <1% drop.

Actually the prices are consistently dropping. Figures - the weapons keep dropping and you only need 1 of each, at most. Besides, the drop rates aren't that low. I got several of these without even trying, by just opening unid gear.

If you really need it just buy it. Istan make them cheap enough to not feel so bad to buy them off for collection

( I brought it not so long ago and it's price are around 30g~ each which I consider a steal for 1 ascended weapon and weapon skin)
