  1. They are unlikely to commit any resources to a mode that most players would only experience once. You would need to find a way to make the content repayable to make it worthwhile. Particularly now when resources are stretched so thin they cant even produce living world content at the standard they used to. Most of the story in raids is told through lore books anyway, which you don't need to fight any bosses for.
  2. Its fine if you like them but labelling everyone who doesn't as trolls really doesn't help. DRM have many issues that should be addressed.

Of the last 4 fractals we had released; all 4 of them had human bosses and 3 have been human females. I would prefer some variety. There's a lot of monster types in Fractal already, i'd say it's pretty diverse. Along with other races.Disco Charr, Crazy Asura, "ley anomalies" type of bosses, Golems, Molten bosses Charrs, Grawl, Harpies, a Rabbit...There's humans too, yeah, but not too many i think. What's really underutilised are Norn and Sylvari bosses maybe. How many of those are in the Fractals?One (annoying) Norn and i don't think there's a Sylvari boss at all.8/21 bosses are human. Thats more than 1/3 and too many in my opinion. Only 1 fractal has a norn boss and 1 a charr, unless you count berserker in molten boss as a charr. Both could use another fractal with their race as a boss. Sylvari have none and if I had to pick the next boss type it would definitely be a sylvari. There are a decent range of monsters but each is unique and interesting, so I would prefer those to yet another human, like I said in my first post. I wouldnt be against a 'witch in the woods' style fractal, it sounds like a fun concenpt actually, just not with bria as the boss.

I think this content fits in very well with the side stories content type and if this had been a side stories release, I would have probably liked and been satisfied with the depth and quantity of content provided. Unfortunately, as it stands, this has replaced actual living world which is very disappointing. Side stories were meant to be sporadic fillers in between episodes. Content on the same level as that cannot fill the void of proper map and meta releases. I hope anet listens to feedback and provides a proper map for the icebrood saga finale, while continuing to drop small releases like champions to support the saga, but I honestly cant see it happening.

  7. From the trailer I was hoping for a dungeon style instance with long term replayability. I guess it is sort of like that but I dont feel it delivered on what I hoped for.My main criticisms: Uses personal story instance structure. No excuse for this imo. Having instance holder dc and everyone getting kicked is the worst feeling. We have had functional 5 man instances for 7 years now and not making use of them is pure incompetence or cutting corners.LFG bugged on release. Just shows how poor quality control this release has that the lfg uses squad groups and the instance uses parties.Masteries are locked to the response missionsAll 3 responses are carbon copies of each other. I feel like I am playing the same instance with a different skin each time.Bosses lack interesting mechanics, instance is too long and has forced wait after the first event. I would have preferred if the instance was much shorter, with each mini boss adding a new mechanic to learn and a larger end boss with multiple mechanics to do, similar to a fractal boss. Approximatly 10 minutes would be an ideal instance length to do daily IMO.

If you've ever played caudecus' manor dungeon you might remember how awful the camera is in small confined spaces, combine that with all the spell effects and you basically cant see anything at all. It would probably explain why most interiors that are intended for actual gameplay are huge and open.I wouldn't mind more interiors that are scaled appropriately but only for purely exploration or treasure hunt quests. I imagine that's less of a priority to anet when designing maps, so that's why we have very few of them.
  9. This is something i would pay real money for. I hope your suggestion eventually makes it into the game. Not too fussed about the halloween event though. Just the map as a pass is enough for me.
  10. There are 3 main ways to setup a standard pug LFG. All 3 are totally fine to pug all w1-4 with. Its up to your preference. FirebrigadeTank chrono, druid, bannerslave, dps, dpsHealfirebrand, alacrity renegade, dps, dps, dpsAlternativly, healfirebrand can tank and you take a condition quickness firebrand, or a power quickness chronomancer to replace the tank chronomancer. Firebrigade p2Tank chronomancer, druid, bannerslave, dps, dpsQuickfirebrand/quickchrono, alacrity renegade, offheal, dps, dpsThis allows you to take a stronger offheal like healscourge or tempest at the cost of some dps. Double chronoTank boon support chrono, druid, bannerslave, dps, dpsOff boon support chrono, offheal, dps, dps, dpsThe boon support chronos will provide both quickness and alacrity. W1. You will need 2 of the dps to be condition for the first boss, and the rest to be power. Power dps should be used at samarog. Druid will need to know how to kite at sabetha. W2. Tank is not needed so you can swap that for a quickfirebrand or quickchrono, if you run setup 1 or 2, or offboon chrono if you run setup 3. You will need groupwide stunbreak for sloth. Stand your ground is a good option if you have a guardian. You will need a class that can reflect, preferrably mirage dps at matthias, but chronos or guardians can also do this mechanic. Power dps is needed at sloth and condition at matthias. W3. At least 1 mesmer is needed to do portals for escort so I'd recommend you run setup 1 or 3 for this wing. Druid will need to know how to push orbs at KC. DPS should be power at KC. W4. condition dps should be used at cairn. Power dps at samarog. Deimos needs a handkiter so one of the dps should be able to swap to that role at deimos. Druid or offheal should know how to blackkite if you are doing range strat.
  11. Not worth it IMO. This system already exists to some degree in strikes and it is never used, even for the easy strikes that dont need healers. People like to have some degree of control over who they group with, especially for harder content that needs specific roles to complete quickly and smoothly. It might be functional for dungeons and low level fractals but I still dont see what it would achieve that lfg fails to do. Making the dungeon LFG more visible by condensing it, and adding a 'watch' to lfg tabs would have a much bigger qol upgrade than a queue system in my personal opinion.
  12. You wont like raids then. More than half of the bosses mechanics can be ignored purely though good dps.
  13. Is it really that bad in NA that pugs cant even do dhuum greens? EU has no issue with this. Strange how one server is so different in pug raiding capabilities. I don't know. All I know is the few dhuum adverts I've seen in NA raid academy hadn't seemed to go that well. My personal adverts for forming groups for W5 haven't gone super well either. My last pug (ish) with one of my guilds I don't normally run with was the raid leader deciding they were done as soon as we hit Dhuum. Overall it just looks like groups don't form that often and my experience with the same mechanic in statues doesn't make me feel that great about the success in PuGs. No one trains it and it's a wonky mechanic that is rarely seen. Maybe if I tried harder? Just didn't seem worth it after all that. Maybe you guys have more free time in EU lol. To be honest, perhaps it wouldn't be that bad if we could save raid progress between weeks (other than camping the instance at reset, which my understanding you still lose as soon as you log out.) But W5 is a jerk to get through, it takes hours in a non-experienced group, so you basically have to start over every week you want to TRY on top of all these issues. You can solo train it with a thief or scrapper btw. one example build. In EU the off chrono, bs and kiter take greens in pugs. If you join as that class on a dhuum clear you are expected to know how to do greens. Ive never met a player unable to do them in groups over 10kp.

  16. im using berserker gear and i got 100% crit with the Rolling Mists trait. The dps is just nowwhere near Dragonhunter/Weaver/Holosmith.. and ye i was not using dragon stance. but dwarf stance with Assasin stance. ill try dragon with Assasin. There you go, using Shiro or dwarf in Herald results in garbage dps. Like I said and this applies to literally any class and spec, practice makes perfect. Figure out your traits, skills and work on your rotation. When I was a newbie herald, I wasn't even using the consume skills on Glint, I look back at how noob that was :) Herald dps is amazing imo, I got people constantly asking me my build etc.What is your bench on golem. I ask because saying shiro is garbage makes no sense.
  17. Lol imagine matthias or largos with pugs. Id support this idea as long as it was optional. I think ultimately it would cause more frustration than fun though. Unlike wvw, raids are quite dependent on certain roles in the group being alive.
  18. Domain of Kourna 100%. Wasted space is one thing, and this map has plenty of that, but releasing content that is so obviously unfinished and so poor quality should never have happened. Unlike other maps, which I might find beautiful or ugly, fun or annoying, this one is just straight up disappointing and if I was anet, it would be the one map which I was not proud of.

Yes the game absolutely sucks horribly in teaching new playes anything about how to play decently but that is entirely on anet and the vocal casuals who complain to death about anything remotely challenging in the game, and has nothiing to do with raiders. A new player who is bad purely from ignorance, but wants to improve will very quickly find the help and advice needed. Almost everyone is happy to answer questions or suggest guides that can give a player everything they need. Raiders have literally spent hundreds of hours writing guides, making vids and crafting builds that will carry all but the worst players through content if they bother to read/watch them. All it takes is 1 question in guild chat or aerodrome, or one google search. There are the raiders who spend hours each week running trainings to help new players get into raids, getting 0 benefit themselves and doing it purely for others. Raiders have done more than any other group in this game to help newbies, except for the wiki creators or dulfy herself back when she was active. If you put in 0 effort to help yourself and demand everyone do it for you, expect 0 help in return. Other than torpedoing their own clear groups by accepting any and all new players which is a super entitled and unreasonable thing to ask, what else exactly should raiders be doing to help newbies? Quite frankly, I do not want to carry a player who contributes nothing to the group. They will never learn anything if they are just carried through. Maybe if a player cant even understand half the terms in a LFG, they shouldnt be joining that group as it clearly isnt for them?
  20. I mean...if you are running meta comp the whole reason you take hfb is so your team does not have to adapt and lose their damage. I agree if you are wiping over and over they should swap 1 ultility to help but as long as the dps avoid the orange blow aoe and stand in the greens, firebrand alone can carry the entire rest of the group with no changes needed. This obviously differs for non meta groups however which will lack dps to phase properly. If you are running off meta though, a single scourge will solo carry just as hard as firebrand. Also why are you running so much stab. It doesnt block the wind attack. Reflect would be better surely. Ren can also basically solo carry this frac with perma ventari bubble, unless there are horrible instabs. This is T4 fractals, not random dungeon you do with newbies or story instance. You should be ready; you should know what comps/builds work better than others for all fractals, you should have unlocked all skills a long time ago already, may be have differents weapons in inventory, differents classes with agony resistance ... I have been there too :"You're the dps, c/p this build, work your rotation _Ah okai, I'm the DPS..._Why didn't you take this skill here ? _But I'm the dps ... ""Ignore mobs, ignore mechanics, rush the boss_Okai I rush the boss_Why didn't you pull the mobs here ?_But later you said to ignore them ... "And it's frustrating. I have lived these times where I played classes because people told others to play theses classes but I had no idea why, nor how to adapt. Or you join groups with differents strats, with portals, Skips, no healer, 2 healers, no burst, etc and you don't learn or you forget the mechanics of the fractals, the potential of your class ...I had scenario with players who were so blindfolded they really forgot how to read a comp, read the weakness, the needs etc and couldn't even change one skill"War, why don't we have banners ?_I can't, I am DPS war, i don't play banner""We should take more support here, we have trouble with instabilities._Ah no, I am meta, I have done this boss like that, it is written in the sacred website we don't have to change anything for this situation. No. You can adapt, you can change roles, specs, skills, you can relog, sacrifice some DPS, or some support if this allows your group to succeed.Of course you don't need power brigade ascended food + portals+ shovels etc, of course the boss is harder than in other fractals, but if no one in your group is or has a DH in his characters, and so a FB (click on the third spec > FB instead of DH, done), if no one has a weaver, and so tempest, or Scourge, or revenant, a healer, a support, etc, with ~110 agony resistance, if you can't take 2 minutes to advise a strategy, skills, yeah you will have a lot of troubles, but you shouldn't be in T4. Yes the fractal is harder than others. Yes, git gud ; don't rush headlong, blindfolded. Yes.. I agreed with you that if your group is struggling, a dps should swap utilities. However, assuming all the dps can avoid orange aoes the HFB can solo carry the rest of the fractal just with mass projectile reflect/destruction and some condi cleanse, which is the reason you bring him. Literally all you need is semi competent dps and a good hfb and this frac becomes as easy as any other. I still think double stab is totally unnecesary, and sacrificing wor/soa/condicleanse for it is a bad idea. Surely the stab from elite should be more than enough for the boss attacks.
  21. You have no way of knowing whatsoever if the majority of toxic players are in raids in this game. You have only your own anecdotal evidence which is pretty worthless.My experience suggests that PVP has the overwhelming percentage of toxic players, with 'play how i want' casual players coming up second. I have seen far, far more toxicity from open world players than I have ever experienced in a raid. The reality of it is, any content that requires a base level of competence from your teammates to succeed has the chance to cause tension or attract toxic players. Just look at auric basin on a meta that doesnt oneshot.
  22. My favourite LFG moment was when I completed Dhuum CM with a full group of pugs. I had been pugging it for weeks with little success and just happened to join this group at about 1am. They were all french, but had forgotten to put that in LFG for the last spot. It started as badly as most other pugged CMs go, but surprisingly noone quit. About an hour of fails later, and the group realized we might have a chance at this. Brand new discord was created so we could communicate properly and every single one of them kindly spoke English just so I could understand. It took us 4 hours in total and everyone was exhausted but after many many wipes, many screams of RUN IM DOWN WITH BOMB or HELP KEVIN HAS CAUGHT ME, we killed it. They were all awesome people and not a single one of them flamed, even when really really stupid mistakes were made. I also have loved first day of new raid wings where everyone is excited, noone has a clue what they are doing and you get some really weird strats while people try and figure out how to deal with new mechanics.

  24. This is exactly the kind of thing OP is talking about, and just reinforces my point that nothing any raiders say or do will ever change people like this' mind. The notion that anyone who makes a mistake is berated for 10 minutes regularly is frankly ridiculous and an outright lie. I am sure this person would defend this statement however, despite overwhelming evidence against it.
  25. I agree. I have stopped farming the cache keepers and just going afk until north meta starts because I will never have enough keys for both, and north has better rewards with the shards of jormag blood. Its a shame. I hope they can balance it better so a full meta run with 200% participation, and participation in all events for north gives you enough keys to open every chest. I think dragonfall also has this issue but thats because players go outside intended design and farm all champs.
