It has even more inefficient fights than reaper, like they are trying to balance both specs overall... Reaper, while only mediocre, is more consistent. The worst part is that we have raid bosses where both Reaper and Condi Scourage are considered inefficient or Inefficient. We can take Condi Scourage meta fight, which uses Epidemic, as an example. Even in that fight, there are still other specs/professions doing 6-10K more. It is just barely clutching on to top tier.

Necromancers have a lot of fights that Guild Wars 2 Raids sites deem as Unsubstantial and Inefficient. The best Necro player fights to be "Mediocre" on a decent amount of fights. Even the best Necromancer DPS players are considered unsubstantial and inefficient in a wide variety of fights. DPS matters for Raids, Strike Missions, and Fractals. Higher DPS allows you to ignore a lot of mechanics in GW2 which makes fights much easier. It does way more than make a fight faster. It also makes achievements easier to acquire. With the current balance, you do not bring a DPS necromancer to a raid...you carry them. There is also a misconceived notion that Necromancers have higher suitability, which makes you think they would be viable as a tank. Necromancers do not have a competitive tanking build. When I am healing, shroud is problematic since you can not heal them in the shroud. The tried and true story...the Necromancer tries to use their life force to survive while low on health. We (the healer) can not heal them during this time, so we focus on keeping the rest of the group alive. As soon as they are out, they die to the faintest breeze. Meanwhile everyone else just makes themselves immune to damage/blocks and we can easily heal them back up. Let's not even begin to discus the sub-sub-par damage the players that uses the shroud to survive are doing. Those players are being hardcore carried. I have seen quite a few of these competing with the healer for DPS. When I am healing, the last thing I want to see is a DPS Necromancer. They make my life unnecessarily difficult as a healer, they do subpar damage, and they do not provide the team boons. It is nothing against the player, it is just the reality of the situation.

Guardian is Top Tier meta at everything. Go Guardian. Has been top for years now.

Well, you can easily if with some clicking convert the ice into useful things. Ice + karma get season 4 currency, consume for volatile magic. Then either use that for trinkets or buy the trophy boxes from season 4 to sell for gold or use yourself. The peppers though. I am going to save a fairly high amount of them because after the ginormous uproar in season 4 about the amount of currency required for Skyscale, I have a sneaking suspicion I will need the new currencies for something coming up. Maybe they figure if we CANNOT use them for anything else we'll have enough for whatever it is. If you ask me Chili's and Ice as a currency are going to kill the maps quickly. The fact that you can't even convert them to "something Magic" that will be used for the Saga is problematic. You have no reason to farm older currency. Once you have things, old content is dead.

This happens when you have the worst balanced professions in an MMOs for end game content (Raids/Strikes) while trying to push that content. This combined with the developers introducing a Strike Hub, and trying to get people to do strike missions to encourage more people to raid only adds fuel to the fire. Elitist mock or reject people that play professions that can not compete in raids because the gap between the top performers and the weakest is at an all time high. This environment breeds more cocky elitist that are use to being carried by their professions. These players in particular are generally the most toxic. The "Strike Hub" just happens to be the perfect place to witness this. This combined with people being locked up just escalates things even more.

@Noodle Ant.1605 Let us just agree to disagree. I can easily look at benchmarks by fight to prove my point. Your also comparing a spec that can do insane damage by not taking damage to a spec that does less damage by taking damage? The difference between top and average for Reaper is also a bigger gap than most other "harder specs" that have a significant DPS advantage. Because you can not take damage to do their maximum DPS...which just starts significantly lower. We are also focusing to much on Necro...they aren't they only ones on the low end. Even if they may be one of the more obvious examples.

Why not? I see people changing DPS specs for 3% gains all the time in other MMO's. Even if it's a harder class to play. Some people also prefer playing harder classes. Some people prefer twitch gameplay, some prefer difficult/complex rotations, etc... There is no difference in this particular instance. 2K is still a significant gap. Those that want to Min/Max will choose that.

Why are you focused on 38K when the top is now 40+ K? The spread is at an all time high. It is unhealthy for Raiding/Strike Missions. I also completely disagree with you, give me a gimmick that allows me to meet that DPS with Necro so I can be competitive with the profession "theme" I enjoy... Instead of playing the Guardian and Mesmer I raid with now. BTW: I honestly do not see the gimmick with Guardian. Just insane DPS with multiple specs that are easy to master.

To be honest.... I would be happy with better performance. Upgrading hardware is no guarantee to improved performance. That shows how bad the engine is. I have new top of the line hardware, and can barely tell the difference with my 5 year old top of the line computer in World Bosses, big events, WVW. If Blade & Soul can do it, GW2 should be able to pull of the same feet. Neither of these machines should crawl to a halt.

I can not believe what I am reading. Even if Reaper had the same max dps as abother spec, if they take any damage their dps would go down. I am ok with up to a 5% difference. Reaper isn't the only low end. It is obviously by your responses it is significantly low end. Thank you for indirectly proving my point. The gap is way to big right now, to the point it is extremely unhealthy for the games end game content. Reapers do not have good sustain in raids. Guardian has much better sustain in raids.

It is time to stop hiding behind unjustified overpowered unbalanced specs while trying to justify others being low. It's time to have a level playing field where you can't hide behind your OP profession. I myself am a mediocre Guardian and Mesmer easily doing 5k more dps than my main while still learning the rotation in raids. I can easily do 8k more on HP sponges that allow me to focus on DPS with my mesmer. So much easier to play in raids too without having to manage life force and having better survivability. I can even take more damage without sacrificing my dps. It's time for balance with end game content. End game PVE currently includes T4 fractals, Stike Missions, and Raida. If you really don't want to buff the weak, it's time for nerf hammers to really do some damage to the top dps specs. Especially the ones that have been consistantly top tier for years. Note: Shared buffs will always be more valuable thsn self buffs. I am not even asking to take that into consideration for DPS balance, but maybe we should.

One of my least used mounts. For the most part, I only use 3 mounts.All around mount: SkyscaleLong distant travel: Roller BeetleWater Travel: Skimmer I rarely use the other mounts. I at least use Jackal when I need to access a portal.

Wish this included the following options:I enjoy Meta Events but not World BossesI enjoy World Bosses but not Meta Events. I fall into the enjoying Meta Events way more than World Bosses category.Note: I consider Dakar a world boss and Storm of Winter an event. I also consider Dragon Stand and Dragon Watch events even thought they have bosses. Path of Fire events really need nerfed and the loot needs to be improved to be enjoyable again. Not enough people do them, so they aren't fun with the current balance. NOTE: Both would improve by simply working on GW2 performance issues, and giving players the ability to turn of others players special effects so bosses don't like like a disco ball light show.

I don't believe Reaper is viable anymore. Core Necro seems to perform much better in most areas, and Scourge will always have a place. Reaper got the short end of the stick.

The reaper theme from Arenanet: Slow and hard-hitting, these deadly combatants call out the impending doom of their enemies with piercing shouts....the reaper wades into melee receiving and dealing blows knowing nothing can save its foes! — Reaper release notes Nothing about that says, does significantly less DPS than other DPS specs. All other successful MMO's balance to make sure every class has a competitive spec for endgame PVE. GW2 now has the widest spread I have seen in ages. Then again this is exactly why I switched to the OP Guardian and Mesmer, and am now calling nerfs in those threads. They are so boring. Guardian seems easier to master too.

At least, they could have announced it earlier instead of last minute. I kinda feel for the truly dedicated who book time off work for their favourite ingame events...If the delay was coronavirus related, the short notice would be understandable; however, if the delay is just to prevent an April 1st conflict, the extremely short notice is not fair to your fans. PS: Would anyone else find it amusing if this is part of an elaborate April 1st joke, and the content launches tomorrow?

I agree with everyone else. I use the celestial infusion with my Starlight Outfit, because the helm is so awful on Asura. Being a necro teletubby just isn't for me. Alternative: Just add the upgraded infusion in the Gemstore. Keep the current one, and let us buy that. Hopefully we can get a dye-able infusion that way. drool

Rant: We are in quarantine. More people are probably logging in than normal due to the quarantine...and the only new item this week to purchase is a weapon? Seems like a missed opportunity. Please consider a new Supply Drop Requisition. This is the time to keep people logging in every week.

This and the copper-fed are my only two regrets. At least I got them both on sale so there's that. :) Copper fed would be considered my best gem store item for both my accounts :D I heard that from lots of people which is why I got it, but I think I don't salvage enough to make it worth it for me. I think it's because I don't really know what to use it on. What I do now is keep the 15 entry-level salvage kits I get from my weekly keyfarmer, and just use those on the salvage items I get during the week like ambrite from the bandit chest in my house. I don't salvage the green/blue gear I get, is that what you use it on? I just sell those when I get a full stack. (probably to people who salvage it all, come to think of it). What do you use it on?Basically for optimal gold:1.) Unidentified Blue: Open All -> Copper Salvage all.2.) Unidentified Green: Open All -> Rune Salvage all (Rings and Amulets being the exception, you use the copper salvage on those)3.)
