Because when I buy gems it is for items in the cash shop, that I can continue to use for as long as the gane exists, not to just have access to the game that I already bought. Noone said you will lose access to the game.

Actualy, to all of you who say "Subscription, no ty". Do you ever buy gems ? How much ? how often ? If your answer is "Over 10$ per month on average", i dont see a reason why you hate the idea of sub, when you're spending more money on gems themself.

Main difference i think will be just that... each story release will have less content than we're used to. Basicaly there wont be any new features with some releases. Due to that, we might get a story update more often though.

Dont you mean "The bots make pvp playable" ? Without them, there would be no population to fill the matches, and queues would take 30min to find a match ;)

May I ask if Raids in FFXIV are an integral part of the story, the leveling and the gearing process or a completely optional activity? I recently just started playing it, finished base game (ARR) yesterday. From what i encountered, there are: dungeons (4 man)trials (8 man boss/raid?)alliance raids (3 x 8 man aka 24 man raids)You encounter the dungeons and trials as parts of the main story, the alliance raids which i did were a part of a side story. Harder/hardest difficulties are optional i belive. Sooo, no, not realy optional.Edit: Game does an amazing job actualy teaching you how to play, unlike here >.>

If 17k is all the raiding community then it is less than 1% of the playerbase so we all hope they will stop with raid redesign them as dungeon 5 players and we can move on. You dont need to do the events, noone is forcing you, and there is 0 new content. the current champ event => not new content, more just making a pointless event with bad rewards. See i dont agree, unless anet is willing to have multiple difficulty raids ala wow, then i think raids are fine as they are. I personally have not done 7 but raiders i know that have say its not very difficult. Lowering the bar is never a good idea, instead teach people to play better. If you want something to be easy then you are looking for an LFG auto system like wow uses, and i can tell you those lfg groups still wipe because mechanics. I dont have a problem with it if they want to add a less hard mode for raids, i have a problem if that will be the only mode. Raids are already easy enough, and thats the problem. They are too easy for experienced, but too hard for most of the community. At this point, raids are just losing players, since it doesnt appeal to either. Either make em easier or harder, or bring different dificulties.
