  1. None of these. Just a calendar page of upcoming daily events. "Map event dailies" is not covered by /wiki et or anywhere past 1 day extra. Knowing ahead allows people to plan to be on Tues or Thurs so that they can finally get achievements done on a certain map since it's more active. Personally, I have of the most achievements already done and rarely do boss events. I just like the extra company doing map complete on a busier map. They finally did this for season 3 & 4 maps. I'm asking for similar consideration for the core maps. ( I said all of this in the OP )
  2. I wasn't aware of being able to know a day in advance about daily events. Other games I've played also have randomized daily map events but they roll them ahead of time and post times or dates on a calendar page so people can mark a date to do their thing. EDIT: I had imagined that the pool of maps was expanded as a players leveled. Also, the '/wiki Daily' only shows today for core events. It's just a list not a schedule over a few days. I see that the Living World Season maps have a rotation.
  3. There were two goals in my OP: Being able to view daily activities that sub-80 players see. Being able to view in advance, ALL activities that are upcoming. None of this is about more opportunities to complete more dailies or earn rewards. It's about being able to be present in sub-80 maps in order to engage in events running on presumably above-average map. Having a calendar for all to see upcoming active maps will allow them to do the same. Whether they're doing map completion, seeking to finish an achievement on a normally sparse map or simply looking to be somewhere that might be more populated because of sub-80 daily map events there. A calendar of upcoming map event dailies would allow them to plan to be on for a certain day to find more activity.
  4. @Anet Please add a way to find info about the sub-80 event dailies into the game. They don't need to count for the daily but it's very useful information. Posting a schedule in the wiki or on another tab would be a tremendous boon to everyone who enjoys socializing. Additionally, it would bring more activity to otherwise forgotten maps if other people knew there will be more activity. People could plan to be on the game to work on Achievements or other goals while a map is active. As a veteran player, I enjoying working on map completion focusing on maps that have a daily event active. It adds more immersion, more chat opportunities and the activities are a fun distraction while exploring an already familiar map. For guilds, we could lead players through maps that have higher activity due to being a part of someone's dailies.
  5. The last few years have brought a big wave of people that expect the game to be simple and fast. If you were to play only 8 hours a day, this game has over 2 years playtime of content. Even veteran players can't remember everything. A player can get to 80 fairly quickly without doing the side quests or crafting and enjoy end-game activities. The other things are activities for players who joined to play an immersive RPG which happens to also be an MMO game. Do what you like. You will make yourself angry/crazy trying to do everything and get rich in a month.
  6. The economy is bad only because there is no reason to craft and the veteran players are on hiatus until new stuff. Add to that the huge amount of low-level drops from Drizzlewood. Mystic coins are already back on track with their historical price trend line. Market demand will balance out, be patient or spend more.
  7. I unlocked all of the pre cursor quests after getting the mastery with HoT. Even if you don't finish a legendary, those are fun quests and you get a lot of interesting drops. They also serve as interesting content during the pre Expac lulls. Since then, I've finished many for the fun of it and sold them on the TP or built to legendary and sold, depending on the profit given. BTW, you can casually obtain the Gift of Battle from WvW by doing the easy WvW each day. Most are quick and the reward pots contribute to the reward track (80 will insta-fill a track) WvW dailies are part of my very casual completion of dailies. It's faster to do many of those than some of the PvE dailies. So I do a mix each day. Easy WvW dailies in order of increasing difficulty: Veteran creature, land claimer, master of monuments, caravan disruptor, guard killer and camp capturer. Just look at them as a fun change of pace when you are tired of the same old thing. Chuka and Chumpawat was the most memorable quest chain so far.
  8. From an audit point of view, it's always better to strikeout changes and note why so it never creates confusion.
  9. @Anet - I have reported many bugged/stalled events over the years and I see they are still unfixed as I revisit those areas. Please make some time to address the LONG list I'm sure you have of these things so we can get the proper enjoyment added by dynamic events in this immersive RPG world. EDIT: for example bug report shown in wiki <- These things are very common
  10. I'll try to pay more attention tonight as we STORM Drytop with our zergs.
  11. It was mentioned in map chat so I went to one and confirmed the tally didn't increase. I didn't spend any time checking further than that.
  12. Mighty Teapot's summary and speculation are very well balanced. Give it a watch. It's obvious that Anet had to change direction mid season.
  13. If you use uBlock Origin, this works perfectly: Added the following lines to "My filters" at UO settings page: ! 2021-05-01 https://en-forum.guildwars2.com en-forum.guildwars2.com##.twitter-timeline-rendered.twitter-timeline en-forum.guildwars2.com##.ipsLayout_sidebarright EDIT: I suggest adding this line to remove the huge, uninformative header above the list of threads. en-forum.guildwars2.com##.ipsPageHeader.ipsBox
  14. I had this issue over a year ago and discovered after some sleuthing that my son was running enough extra stuff to saturate the UP-channel of our internet connection. The symptom was severe lag every 3-10 seconds for about 1 second or more. Turning off Facebook running passively was the biggest relief on the overload. Naturally, he took offense but we learned to negotiate the connection load. Voice chat is also an UP-channel hog so watch for correlations. Another incident giving nearly the same symptoms was caused by the aging and incorrectly terminated copper lines between our house and the neighborhood distribution box. It took about 6 trips for them(ATT) to finally get everything in order again. We use DSL ( Uverse ) 5Mbit up / 32Mbit down.
  15. A small question: How old is your Hard Drive or SSD. Drive failures come on slowly like this. Symptoms like this ( data loss on drive ) will cause repeated repair issues eventually causing more NOTICEABLE failures. For spinning drives 2 or 3 years is close to life expectancy. Some early SSDs had retention issues too.
  16. If they join the game as recommended above as F2P they will be able to unlock all of the seasons that will be re-released in the next weeks. Then when(if) they buy an account package they can go to that extended content and it will be unlocked. All they have to do is make an F2P account and log in once during the package week. Be advised, as F2P, they can't WvW until they reach game level 60.
  17. Use of the term 'toxicity' without any descriptions is part of the problem. Shouting TOXIC breeds toxicity.
  18. I think this is a bit of hyperbole since other than griefing groups in LFG, people can't do anything to you where you'd be worried to come back to the game. However, Anet WILL act against threats of violence in the chat window.
  19. I was hoping Jeweler 500 might offer weapon or armor effect infusions.
  20. They started giving away so much gear that there is no longer much demand to craft anything but Ascended food and Account Bound Ascended gear. We used to be forced to craft Exotic to get the stat seals that were locked behind HoT and PoF expansions. Now the restrictions have been reduced and since everyone beyond the core-only game has access to HoT and PoF seals via stat selectable gear, there is little reason to visit those maps and craft the coveted items.
  21. This game has no need of HIGH FPS. The action is not that fast. Having a high FPS seems to be mostly a bragging point these days because the latest wave of video cards are absurdly priced.
  22. The tools themselves were never made obsolete. Perhaps some consider those glyphs of low value. Just go to the TP and buy glyphs to replace the ones you don't like. It's far cheaper than burning keys on chests.
  23. The gen2 precursor build felt more like a lengthy ( legendary ) quest than a grind. I built most of the gen 1 while waiting for PoF. They were filler content to me and as such I was glad for them. Not everything in gw2 is a week-long grind. It's designed to keep people moving between maps and engaged with the game. It had the side-effect of helping newbie players find experienced people in the early, low-population maps.
