  1. SO many excuses here."Will cause lag, etc"You realize they dumbed it down from 8v8to 5v5?You realize older games have spectators, it doesn't cause any extra lag to client nor server.

Thing I hate about this community here at GW2.New feature very niceCommunity members"too much time for devs""too much server resources""excuses"

You aint the devops team, you dont know squat. If anybody should be making excuses it should be an anet person coming to this forum"yeah very nice, but uses too much resources"

Quit making excuses for this game, you don't know how it runs, you don't have the code.

..I have news for some of yall, spectate is already a done deal. Its just a matter of they going to give it to us finally or what?Whats point of making something years back and NEVER using it?

Yes, you get occasional bad apples on dungeon runs, but it doesn;t happen very often. Most cases when something goes wrong is a direct result of someone doing said dungeon for the first time, and not yet understanding some of its unique mechanics. And even then it only rarely results in wipe, as leveling dungeons are often very forgiving (also, it can be easily helped with you dropping even very short explanations beforehand). There's also a case of people not yet having been fully geared up (it's really easy, especially on the preferred servers, to level up and progress with the story so fast your gear doesn't catch up with you).

The real bad players in dungeons don't happen that often at all.

Older Alliance Raids, though (especially the 50-lev ones) can be cringey, as they are now so easy that a lot of players indeed do not really pay attention.

How many buttons you have to push if your dps?Easy to do job properly when you don't have to memorize a 26 button opener, 16 button continuous button loop for optimal dps.

  3. I'm down for anything, racing was super fun, it is super fun.Especially in the old zones too, but a zone dedicated to racing, that would be fun.

Tournaments for PvP, there should be something a little smaller scale, for racing.every 3 hours, and then a monthly one for big prize.

There is no in game DPS Meter

You can use ArcDPS, but "may get banned may not get banned" "no official answer on this"Just make a in game DPS meter, everyone has,

EVEN the people that come here and hate it because"I play how i want tough"

But it doesn't solve anything, the real solution isshorter rotations 4-8 buttons."I play how I want tough"can't screw it up.

Raids not hard anymore because DPS CHECK? That never made them hard, its the mechanics to them that make it hard.

  5. @"wilykcat.5864" said:I dont want to care about someone else's dps because it's not my account, it's their problem if their dps is whatever and its not my problem. If I would care about dps, i would only make sure mine is good and not look and care about others dps. My dps, my problem. Their dps is their problem.

Otherwise I'm staying away from dps meters and highly competitive content such as raiding. I've done a fractal once cause I wanted to see what it was and to try something new. I wasnt doing it to get higher ranked in fractal or for my dps.

Yep you do that. Meanwhile Subject 7 and other DPS CHECK events is going to be jumping up and down and not die."ok enough wipes, time to figure out whose the slacker""hey slacker, your dps is not enough, your this profession its possible with any gear to get this dps, all you do is this rotation, do it. If you don't we wont meet the DPS CHECK, we will wipe again"

2 thingsDPS METERSmaller (4-8 button) rotations

are neededyou people whining about "I do me, if you dont like it tough."those are the people who need the smaller rotations.Easier for them to "I do me, tough"

Raids become harder by mechanics, jump over shock waves, etc. Not from DPS checks. You make the "I do me tough"folks look bad and scare them away from raids byhaving them get owned by shockwaves and stuff.

"Yep you did you, and you always wipe right away from the shockwave"put in more effort palstart listening to others and get off your "I do me, tough" high horseThis is raids, fractals and strikes, this isn't chump change content.

Anet Developers,They make DPS CHECK content because"I dont like this idea, let the developers work on better stuff"Anet Developer,DPS CHECKS we made more content that has this 'better stuff' enjoy...Now we talking about people not doing enough DPS"I dont think DPS check is a priority"A lot of content they dishing out ARE DPS CHECKSDPS Meter will help with the DPS CHECK content.."We have ArcDPS"already mentioned it has problems with lag"I'm doing 30k dps, idk what you talking about your arc dps is laggin"this is why we need IN GAME DPS METER

"Could never be as good as ArcDPS"Yet you say "developers work on better stuff"So you saying they too good to do this, now you saying they suck and could not match what another developer did.Just being negative nancies is what you guys are doing.

  6. @"yann.1946" said:While I think it would be nice personally if they added an official one (especially because arc doesn't seem to work on my pc.)

It probably would affect the game negatively if a meter was added.1)it will take a while for the official one to be on par with arc as we want way more then just dps.2) it could scare new players away because of the negative connotation attached to dps meters.

Here we go again, negative thinking only. This is positve thinking2) Could make new players better and handle new content since people can identify those with low dps and give tips, tell them rotations to run1)To get on par with ArcDPS? You realize ingame DPS, they have access to things ArcDPS does not have, it can sync with other players with the checkmark "Share DPS" on, and you get REAL DPS data. lag etc. doesn't affect REAL DATA being synced. Player B client says he did 20k dps, HE DID do 20k. ArcDPS lagged, oh he just did 9k. Ingame DPS is better. Ingame DPS being worse is again negative thinking

This is you guys"Developers know what to do, this is waste of their time"Next"ArcDPS is too good for developers to replicate, developers are not that good"...So in first, developers are good they know what to doSecond, developers suck, they couldn't even come close to arcDPS...smhIt's just a DPS meter. This isn't having them do VRYall just like to come here, bust balls, negative think the heck outta stuff, and leave.

  7. @wilykcat.5864 said:This is why I dont raid. I'm just going to stick with not raiding cause I'm not competitive with dps. I play the game cause it's fun.

Also I dont want to end up having the same bad experience with dps meters and other ranking addons like of what I've had in WoW.

This happens in Fractals and Strikes too.Subject 7.Purpose of the fight?DPS check

He's a lot harder than fighting the volcanic boss. DPS check aint no joke on him, you need people to try and focus on worrying about how much DPS they dishing out.Aint no casual not tryhard dps check on him.

As it stands, an official DPS parser isn‘t needed for GW2. Arc does just fine. If it was actually needed, it would already be in the game. Also, if things from other games didn‘t matter we wouldn‘t have raids nor mounts in the first place.

Or in the terms some people use here on the forums: Official DPS meters are a waste of development time that can better be spend elsewhere.

"Development can spend its time elsewhere"You realize its a team?"ArcDPS is fine, no need to redo it"You realize people not sure if ArcDPS is even ok to use. It's in state of "is it allowed or no, we need official answer"

If you think development can spend time elsewhere that doesn't mean they shouldn't do it.Also, development could be spending its time doing stupid stuff, while THIS is better use of their time.

You assume Development is super smart, they work on the right things, all the time. No, you need people to point out from time to time.Work on this, quit working on useless stuff that people think "development is spending time wisely, don't make them do this"Dumb logic.Look at WWE 2K20 "they should do this and that" someone posts "development should spend time elsewhere"...WWE 2K20 a failure, loses Yukes, aint no WWE 2K21, it failed so hard.Development didn't spend time wisely..GW2 development different?Hows PvP doing, WvW doing? etc. oh thats right, not so good.Development spending time wisely? NOPE..Do the dang DPS Meter. This game has DPS checks, so give us a DPS meter. Subject 7 aint gonna die if you don't meet the DPS check. Can't check without meter. People don't want to get banned because ArcDPS may maynot be allowed ("no official word"), DPS meter fixes all this.Simple fix, fixes a ton of concerns. This is something development team should be spending time on. It doesn't take much time too.

@"wilykcat.5864" said:I dont agree with adding dps meters to this game because in another game World of Warcraft I used to play before this one, other players kept on severly bullying me and threatening me for my dps, so I quit the game. Evenknow a dps meter is a tool, like all tools, they can be misused.

Raid in general is end game. Pretty much every raid is a DPS check. You don't meet DPS check, people going to check you. It's not for casuals, its end game content, they expect you to be end game ready. Not some random with 4k DPS.Raid is end game, it requires end game people. Sure it can be done with non end game gear, but thats from people who are veterans at doing it, who know the mechanics to avoid dying and so on, and can do the 30+ button rotations even in the lesser gear. So they can outdps you in worse gear than you have. Probably full exotic and they outdps you because they can do the 30+ button rotations.

Thats why they need to lessen the rotations down, because DPS meter or no, it won't solve people who just have trouble, or don't want to try hard enough to do the proper rotations for optimal DPS.30 buttons+ is too much. 4-8 button rotations is a sweet spot.

Every MMORPG will have raiders yelling at you for not doing your share of DPS. Usually in raids you wipe, and to solve problem, you check "whose not contributing" and usually its part of the DPS fault."hey you, you doing 4k dps, you doing this rotation? do this rotation, whatever you doing is not working. Your dps is on par with healer, and your dps, do your role"

  9. Be dope if

    1. Tournament games are viewable in Hearts of the Mist (like a world cup, can see mutliple games going on)
    2. b. Tournament games can be spectated
    3. More things where people can spectate PvP games

Make the spectate work again. This is why I want hotjoins, you can spectate the games too.

This is what I am expecting in the new expansion PvP

  10. DPS meter has nothing to do with compromise. If you die, you are a waste to the team. You can't do the mechanics, you always die, the team is going to boot you regardless if DPS meter.

DPS meter helps people get better, helps other people see your DPS and they give you tips. Also helps identify the person who isn't doing their share of the DPS in DPS check content like in fractals they have Subject 7, they have content in Strikes and Raids where you don't meet certain DPS, you don't win too.

Identify the person, fix them, and everyone wins."Hey low dps dude, do this 27 button opener loop, then after that do this 19 button continuous dps loop, thats it"

...People having hard time remember 48 buttons, yep its time they "developers" make it so the game isn't button smash and memorization. 4-8 button loops is a good sweet spot.

Back in the days, Warrior, press 2, use utility, press 2 again.Warrior a DPS, the best DPS. Not some CC, not some tank. DPS, Warriors designed for DPS.

  11. 20 players?

Lets not do it, just do GW2 Factions, 15v15, make it a PvP mode like it was.

WvW sucks in current state, ESO does it better. GW2 needs more castley vibe to it.LIke make an outer wall around its side of the borderland, tower and keep is inside it.More fighting inside buildings.

How about after tearing down a keep/tower wall, and running up the stairs to kill lord, simple and done. You gotta capture 2 sets of flags like in ESO.This makes it so people can actually defend wimpy objectives.

Right now, people rush in, lord dies in 10 seconds.Rush out.

No time to even defend.Make it take about a minute. So people can defend. More fighting inside.Put up some ceilings too.Theres no tower/keep vibe because no ceilings. Only vibe is at SMC, inside of it. Fighting inside SMC doesn't happen too often.

ESO does it better, change my mind.Aint no commanders in ESO, organized groups if you want group. More 1v1 even in 60v60 fight, you'll be 1v1 just fine. But snowball effect happens fast to those who win their 1v1 quickly.GW2, 60v60, stay in zerg or you die. No such thing as 1v1 in 60v60 fight.

It's too early to worry about something we know nothing about.

People worried about elite specs, now we rarely use the core professionsWell, the main worry
    was
that the elite specs will be a flat out upgrade and will replace core classes. Which is exactly what happened.

I do feel that the especs have essentially replaced the cores. Based on the professions I have played, I would never choose cores only over especs. I also think that it may have made "balancing" professions and content more difficult since there are many more builds to account for. I personally wouldn't mind even if there were no more specializations introduced ever because there is more than enough variety right now to satisfy me.

I keep hoping that a rebalance will make cores meta again, along with the elites. I'm an optimist.

In all the classes I have played there is no reason whatsoever to pick a core spec over espec. I am hoping for such a balance too but it seems like a lot of people just want more especs instead. The core specs allow for a lot of different play styles that could have been made viable in all content. I am guessing part of the reason especs are better and will probably remain so is that you need to purchase the expansions to unlock them.

Core guardian used to be very effective.Staff 1 ability.

They nerfed the ...................................................... outta the Core Guardian Staff 1

Because if you played Engineer when GW2 came out because it was full of CC, now its warrior. Makes no sense that your playstyle is now all sudden another profession.

My question to you is, "What, in you opinion, is every profession supposed to do?" I see each profession fitting a particular class theme, not fullfilly a particular battle role. Hence, why I like the Specializations and traits so much, because you can, without Elite Specializations, create 5 or more different types of the same profession and feel like each one can have their own purpose in a battle. I think the elites do a great job adding to professions theme and at least reinforcing a Core Specializations. I thought at some point, every profession would have their own way of doing everything.

You remember core?CM instances, some parts very easily done if you have a thief. Breaks the lore of the game, keep people in there lane.

I disagree. I think everyone still has their niche, but with elites, professions can take on another role. Like in GW1, every class had a secondary profession. If in GW1 you wanted to have a Warrior with a secondary class being a Mesmer, you can simply have SpellBreaker in GW2. Did you complained about Warrior/Mesmers in GW1?

Well if we go the way you want it, and how its been going.Professions just changing roles and not staying in their lane.

Theif...Make the monk from GW1.55hp monk thief, I'm waiting for this. Tank/Healer role.Should be a guardian, but you know Spellbreaker being a warrior instead of guardian.

Make the healer bunker 55hp monk the thief and not guardian.

One thing I notice too, they make the elites, the new version of whatever profession the best, and the core, etc. USELESS. Unless its already a meta.

Ex. Berserker, what a useless build. They need a BUFF.

  14. @"Obfuscate.6430" said:When the game was being launched the selling point was "play how you want". Do you know why Guild Wars 2 has a soft trinity rather than a hard one? It was by design, so that no one would ever have to wait for a certain class, for a specific party composition. Inevitably, content was introduced which made liars of the developers.Do you know what is not fun? Having to play a class, a play style and a build I hate because that is what people currently want in their party - and I am not even talking about Raids. I am talking about the single boss strikes.Introducing yet another way to shove players in to a tiny box of "play how I want and need you to play" is not going to make better players and will likely further wittle down any build or play style diversity between patch days.

Do you know what would improve the game? Including tutorials that give a real understanding of simple game mechanics like dodging and CC, skill synergy, and build synergy. Guild Wars 1 Fractions had this. Create better players by empowering them , not by threatening them with party kicks because they don't want to play with the precision you expect.

Strikes, Raids, FractalsThis is end game content. Some of them are nothing but a DPS check. (Subject 7 much?)

If you don't meet the DPS check you don't move on.You play as you want, and its bad DPS, the other 4 people who are playing to move on, you are hindering their progress. They should see in DPS meter, rather than a couple of wipes and figuring out who it is, and boot the person "play as they want"

Now, with smaller rotations, it makes "Play as you want easier"But since some fights, you gotta follow a strict rotation, usually 19 - 26 button long rotation, if you don't do you get the DPS the game is expecting of you.

Play as you want in PvE, nobody cares about your DPS.But in fractals, raids, strikes, this is serious content. There are DPS checks. If they have a DPS check, they (the developers) obviously don't expect "Play as you want"

Now people far away you know there DPS, it now checks other people data from their client so ping is no longer an issue. They already have a combat log, so I don't want to hear "it would be a lot of work".Arcdps person gets it up in no time. he has a real job too.GW2 devs, they work on this game, doing it is what they do, they have access to everything they need too.

If arcdps guy can get it done on his offtime quickly, an Anet dev can even quicker get it done.

I'm not sure why you apparently directed this at me. I'm not sure why you think this is a solution to ping problems, for example in phases where a boss goes invuln, I get that information about 150ms after everyone else, and same when the boss comes off invuln.

Add in boss dynamics where aoes, that are randomly placed, appear on the floor with a 500ms warning.

This all affects the ability to get off rotations that require speed between skills. And the rotations are the reason for higher DPS.

So coming back to your earlier point about making the rotations shorter, yes that should help those of us with higher ping to some degree. However, even with a shorter rotation, we still get some problems: skills flashing (ah, the joy of lag spikes), and the wonderful experience of getting a firebrand book to open, only for it to immediately close
even though we only hit the function/clicked the button once
    .

Your getting someone else's data from someone else.Everyone has DPS meter, everyone turned it on in the group. It's syncing up

No more, you track someone else on your client.Everyone tracks themselves, and its sent to the shared dps meter field. If player x tracking his own dps and it says 23kYou get see 23k.No more, your client lagged out, player x has 16k dps, but its really 23k

Again the information is technically public and being broadcast to everyone all the time. If they added a DPS meter as a native part of the game it's naive to think it wouldn't be public since that's the current status quo.

The data doesn't belong to you nor is it private.

You currently can't opt out of sharing since it's how the game works.

If they did go with this method of share/no share all the people who are getting kicked from groups due to their lower performance aren't suddenly going to start being allowed into groups...you think the group's they are getting kicked from now / most groups wouldn't run "DPS meter share on" style groups?

Yes it should be shared, nothing toxic about it.You do bad, someone will give you tips and you become a better player. You don't listen and still bad dps, not there fault you getting kicked. You don't listen, this is tough content, you need to get certain dps so everyone can succeed.

..Now we have Warriors being a bunkers?Excuse me?Is that what this game designed warriors to do? NoThis is warrior

When you make a warrior, DPSWhen you make this or that, STAY in there lane.

This is how a lot of MMO's just don't become fun anymore. Everybody does everything.Just get rid of professions if you want to do this.

The most epic skill in GW1,One hundred bladesGW2,it aint squat anymore...One hundred blades should be the strongest attack in game...You standing and eating it, it should mean death, it shouldn't be a tickle.....IWAY warrior should be the next Warrior version.4 people die near an IWAY build, that warrior should be on some serious steroids.

  18. @Leonidrex.5649 said:@"uberkingkong.8041" spellbreaker is awesome as an "idea". and it exists in many games, a warrior that specializes in dealing with mages.but its gw2 and we dont have mages and the closest thing we have is boons, so all it does is strip a boon on CC and boon rip on dagger and they called it a day. Kinda shame. Wish they made them more nimble and focused somehow on dealing with boons differently.Example, attack that marks a target, targets boons are frozen in time ( he cant gain boons OR lose them, and those that he had dont expire ) target takes bonus damage per boon. Cool things like that.

Spellbreaker sounds more of a Guardian build than a Warrior build, Firebrand isn't a warrior build either.

This is what I mentioned in one of the threads,New Expansion I believe,https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/114461/new-expansion-worries#latest

You have a GW2 profession built to do dps, thats what Warrior is designed to do, matter of fact they was so good, you had groups 1 mesmer 4 warriors for fastest speed runs. Now they cross over warrior being a DPS to a TANK

Guardian is actually THE TANK.Back then MANY MANY GW2 pvp had bunkers, and when people think bunkers back then, its a Guardian.

They are not staying in their lane with professions, everytime a new expansion comes out.Looky here, warriors are the big buffers.Looky here, thief monk is insane at healingLooky here, ranger warden has some kind of pet that likes to take all the damage and is a insane tank, this ghost pet eats all the Lich dps like its nothin.

Bad bad bad. They need to stay in there lane.Warriors needs to STAY DPS

If we just going to make anybody do anything, just get rid of professions, let people randomly decide I want to be a healer, I'll change my profession to this. Done.I didn't pick a Warrior to do ZERO damage, can't even kill a Mist Champion properly, and all I do is tank. I PICKED TO DPS. TO RUN OVER Necros standing stillI'd pick a GUARDIAN if I wanted to do bunker in PvP.

Buff the warrior, and by that I mean, the Berserker.Berserkers are not no tanks either.

No one complained before cause it had damage to cover for its bugged up traitlines and skills that did kitten all. The defense and arms traitlines are total garbage. The defense mid row does nothing the best trait there is to take the + power from toughness the other two are 300 cd power damage 100% reduction and a mace trait that works only for mace skills( didn't get a touch up like the other weapon traits gj anet) and the fun part is that the cc duration increase doesn't work for the burst skill lol. Arms doesn't know if it is for condition builds or power builds and that trait with the dual wield that gives attack speed does not stack with quickness or with the bonus from Berserk, bam best grandmaster trait ever man.If you want to run a fighting warrior (LOL) you need Discipline, doesn't matter which build it is, if you want to do any damage you need it in PVE and PVP every single build needs it.All the changes and reworks on warrior have backtracked on their ideas from previous patches and it left it a jumbled mess. Remember the rework on berserker it was supposed to do allot of damage but lose allot defense, fun stuff they nerfed the damage and left the lose the defense part, that is also contradictory to the RP idea of berserker being a unflinching mad man that ignores wounds and jumps directly into the fire, currently you have to play it like a chess master and predict what will happen, instead of running in and yelling and smacking people without care. There are several threads in the Warrior forum about bugged or non functional skills and traits if anyone wants to add something.

Yeah exactly with berserker.Berserker is actually fun to play, it just doesn't do squat though. It needs a BUFF

    • Many don't even know the basics of their class. Rotation? What's that? If a fractal has DPS checks and a player doesn't know how to dps we have nothing to discuss.

Yep exactly why I made this threadhttps://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/115004/should-they-add-a-dps-meter#latest...

People say rotation isn't a big deal,

memorizing 26 buttons to do in a rowhttps://snowcrows.com/raids/builds/warrior/berserker/power%20banner/26 button opener PLUS 18 button loophttps://snowcrows.com/raids/builds/mesmer/chronomancer/power%20boon/

No big deal, you have this dude who keeps spamming@"Astyrah.4015""2 weapons 5 skills, yada yada"Then here come to a thread where people know what fractals raids and good dps is.Many don't even know the basics of their class. Rotation?

Yep, thats whole point, we need to lessen down that rotation, so people can, know basics, easier to remember some rotation 4-8 buttons, not 26 button opener and 18 button loop.

Yes we need a DPS meter, as for KP, you don't need it if you have a DPS meter. This is fractal, its easier than strike mission easier than raid, you want people who do dungeons to have KP, megabosses to have KP?

DPS meter.People could care less if you can do a raid, if you do 25K+ dps, sure come on and join us, you better than the someone who knows but who can only maintain 12K.Would be no issue if rotation wasn't 15+Back in CoF p1, the core days. Warrior, press 2 and use berserk utility. Yes thats cheesy, but 26 19 button rotation?!? thats insane, 4-9 buttons is a sweet spot.

DPS Meter, less amount of buttons for rotation, you wont have any headaches with things like Subject 7

  22. Yeah people should be dying without outnumbering them.Right now Warrior struggles to even kill a Mist Champion. You need to take into factor the PvE aspect and right now PvE is in line with Great or Meta builds. Warrior doesn't have a single build in either of those categories. It needs a buff period.

Preferably in the DPS department, and berserker.

If I want bunker build, I certainly did not choose to play Warrior for that.Core warrior was never a bunker build too.

Bunker guardians (untouchable at times plus healing)Bunker Elementalist (insane healing)Bunker engineer (autoresponse aka immunity to condis)

But bunker warrior, yeah ok.I have no idea where that came from.

"we made a SPELLBREAKER", whose dumb idea was this, and with a warrior?
