  1. I think this was a good financial choice from Anet. Look at Icebrood Saga. It was bad. And EoD was also bad. If they continued the way they did surely they would have had to shut down the game, releasing content for free that took a lot of effort but the quality kept plummeting. Also this way we will expect less from the smaller expansions as opposed to big major releases that have to do well, now if something is boring we can just wait a bit and get something else later. However this just seems like a sub based game now which I think is fair if the quality is worth it. EoD is around 26 euros and the release window would seem to fall into 13e/month if its every 2 months. The thing I am most concerned about is Elite Specs mostly. "new gameplay and combat features, new Masteries, and new rewards." They were so vague. Are we getting elite specs very fast now or every 4 years? Balance could spiral out of control even more. And EoD specs are horrible so will the future espec quality be better or worse? Also new masteries? I am not excited at all considering what we got in EoD, more buff machines? Or like in IBS, where masteries were using door handles. I want to see how this turns out but I do love gw franchise so I hope it goes well.

  3. (pve wise) Im actually looking forward to these changes. I really wanted old Mantras back and Glamour traits. I dont see why people think it slows down the gameplay personally because what I expect from Mesmer is the certain ebb and flow which is dictated by being reactive like in GW1 with some jank and weird effects. Being unique was always the strong part of Guild Wars. I would have preferred to have regen and aegis on Glamours I dont really understand superspeed but Im overall happy to see some old stuff coming back.
  4. just wait for the next expansion with the engineers of cantha bringing their jade batteries, jade tech offensive overcharges, jade tech defensive overcharges, jade tech chests and jade bot consoles for everyone to enjoy in the future meta maps as well.

  6. Elementalist at core has many utility skills that do something active, such as Glyph of Storms, all Arcane skills, even Signets have some interesting active effects and visuals. In HoT Ele got Shouts. It was good enough I guess. But in PoF AND EoD Ele got... stances ? and definitely not stances. None of the 3 Especs really offer any ranged combat caster fantasy which the core game supported. And no "cool" utility skills either (like Glyph of Storms). All 3 specs give instant effects which basically just buff you. Thoughts and ideas: Tempest: Option for ranged Overloads, like a gm trait or toggle. Same as before but the effect is cast as ground AoE while Elementalist can channel it from far, personally I would like to bind the cast range on equipped weapon range but baseline 900 range is fine too. This trait would not really disturb the current Tempest gameplay either, it just gives an option for those who like caster fantasy without spiking up the damage or making Ele OP. Just in case I will reiterate, this Overload would NOT follow the target so it would not be OP in PvP either. And they can disable range Overload option in PvP because I think PvE and PvP require very different things in balance. Sidenote: different casting animation for fire overload please, like the female channeling animation with the floating. Catalyst: Hammer 3 becomes F5. Easiest solution would be to switch around the skills so Augments would become Hammer 3 and Jade Sphere utility skills (element sphere only castable while in corresponding element) or vice versa. This would let Catalyst keep the same rotation as before without energy restriction which is already a bit unfair considering others get to regen out of combat but Ele can't. It would also let other weapons enjoy the spinning orbs, Grand Finale cast range would just be extended by 400 to reach 1200. Personally I would rather get rid of Augments because it is just Stances two xpacs in a row but replacing them with new skills does not seem possible. Weaver: Cannot complain too much since it actually gave all weapons skills. Only 1/6 stances is completely useless in range so I would call Weaver a good enough design. If anything I would let the weapon keep 3 and make the combined skill F5. I don't think these changes would be difficult to implement and they would not disturb the meta either which could be used as a reason to not do it but I believe that Elementalist should be allowed to be a caster and in general ranged weapons should not be neglected as a playstyle. Some people enjoy it more despite it being lower in damage and in open world it does not matter that much. It is also a lot more accessible and starving range weapons of the things that make Especs cool is not very nice imo.

  8. this is where you draw the line on balance? walking? when necro and guardian can do whatever they want lol besides is it not possible to put walk only in pve then or i guess you could put the walk in pvp too but take one dodge away, that seemed to "fix" mirage too

  10. i rather have sub than having anet shove all skins into the cash shop alongside all the useful things like trasmutation charges while abandoning all content i like and balancing the game however devs like. sub would create a bigger expectancy for quality and tbh right now i do not see quality. i doubt that would work though since adding a sub would be so controversial, i think something like value packs in black desert would be a better option. for those who dont know: you pay about 10e a month for extra bank and inventory space, free appearance changes for the duration and theres other things that dont translate into gw2 but they could add free transmutation for that time, maybe give a small amount of gems for buying it like eso i believe.

  13. at this point i will be happy if ele doesnt get stances again. weaver = stances, catalyst = stances with cast times. next xpac? could it be stances with... even longer cast times?
  14. i switched to necro with same stats and i got like double health + shroud which also gives damage resist, has bigger dmg numbers and i get all the good boons by existing. maybe i just like necro more but the overall gameplay feels more interesting too, biggest bonus is getting actual utilities in xpacs instead of stances in pof and stances with cast time in eod

  17. What hopes and dreams do you have about Mesmer ? Theres no reason to say something doesn't work since we are not coding or in control of balance so just add some wishes and hope Anet can see what Mesmer players like. Also there is no balance anyway so you know. Glamours We need more Glamours and we need Glamour traits. I think Anet should update all cores by adding new skills in general, like a glamour heal. And replace Time Warp with something that works. Could it give Alac too if it has to stay. - Trait: Glamours pulse regen or healing maybe both. Maybe give swiftness. Maybe random condis and boons. - Added butterflies to Glamour effects - Trait: Create clones of people who enter. These do not count towards clone count and cannot be shattered. - Trait: Glamours pulse stealth Manipulation Something else than Superspeed on cast... Never understood the point. Shouldn't I be encouraged to play the game, not run around in PvP. idk I'm getting tired of typing and using capital letters. - Trait: Manipulations create Clones of affected targets. These do not count towards your clone count and cannot be shattered. Mantra Can't we just back old Mantras lol. - Targeting an ally causes the effect to trigger on them. Staff - Feels neglected apart from the weird Alacrity buff. I actually hate how it doesn't apply random condis anymore. - Staff 2 bothers me because it's clone generation but it forces a blink. Would it be possible to change it, off the top of my head make it spawn a clone next to you and turn it into a flip skill that gives you a second or two to blink backwards, I would prefer you to be able to choose location though. - Staff 4, Chaos Armor. Could Mesmer also detonate Auras, this skill is kind of boring. - Staff 5. Chaos Storm just feels really sad not going to lie. Could it at least pulse Daze in PvE so I could try to chain Chaotic Interruption it would be nice. Interrupt Making it feel better, some kind of update. Maybe cast bars in PvE or something. Phantasms They just feel kind of boring, throw it out and forget. I preferred them when they lasted until dying or shatter. Hoping there would be a middle ground at least where they exist for 16 seconds and perform attacks during that time. I don't need a whole Phantasms rework but would like an option where they can be used like Hexes in GW1, damage over a longer duration. Since there is no hex removal killing the phantasms could fill that. Clones - Gameplay options for no clones or the very least Virtuoso being able to hide floating daggers. - Trait / utility / elite that increases max clone count. If it causes balance problems just cap the damage to max 3 clones. Chronomancer - Why can't Continuum Split become an utility skill or give Chrono Blade Renewal. Not fair to take away Distortion. - Making Weapon 5 skill apply Alacrity or Quickness instead of only Shield 5 so other weapons don't feel subpar in boon application. To be honest I've always hated skills being tied to a weapon. - Wells. They are currently ridiculous. I saw someone suggest them to be flip skills. I think 3 seconds is too low duration for it though but it's better than remove 2 boons. I don't like Alac on cast. Alac on ending would fit the fantasy better. I don't like the gameplay of smashing Wells down since they have timing based effects but Anet made them Alacrity generators. Scuffed suggestions since I don't really like Chrono that much because of Continuum Split. 1. Wells big hit comes on first tick 2. Just make Chrono pulse Alacrity 💀 3. Shield 4 gives Alac again 4. Shatters giving AoE Alac like Quickness trait 5. Wells give Alac on cast but this also happens around the Mesmer, people can only get Alac from either the Well or Mesmer.
  18. im glad about some changes but im quite alarmed by the notes "Staying in one attunement doesn’t match with the gameplay of the elementalist profession, so we’ve updated the trait to apply the critical chance increase in all attunements." this sounds like a general view on ele gameplay. ferocious winds already increases stats on all attunements. why was 5% crit in air allowed to go live considering it contradicts so much and needed a change after few days. now this raises another questions for me, which is why isnt ele allowed to camp an attunement if easy rotations are the way to play without weapon swapping considering attunement swap is weapon swap basically

  22. Mesmer has wrong skills in the OFFICIAL page... Mesmer cannot double summon pistol gunner phantasms and Veil is not a stealth circle. I think it would be time to update the page at some point unless the false advertisement is intentional.
  23. Anet, please change virtuoso into a longbow and change most traits. Longbow wouldve made so much more sense and it still would have worked with the current kit. Mesmer needs a new twohanded. Just give skill 4 phantasmal bard and 5 a blink arrow or smth. It frustrates me how much the class makes sense as a longbow user, psionic arrows, elite couldve been a psionic arrow barrage and channeled, rain of swords couldve been rain of arrows. Just imagine all skills with arrows instead of blades, it makes sense
