The more interesting thing for me is that the player character uses Archemorus and Viktor's artifacts to defeat the risen Shiro. They therefore assist I'm his downfall at every stage. That being said it's quite an interesting take on using their power to free Cantha (or whatever that story line will be) once again. As heroes they're viewed as saviours by their people.

Been looking for this, thank you! Seems I was right with the stance dance to a degree. Bit worried about that dodge will have to see it. All around I'm still remaining positive, it sounds very very interesting (in my opinion) Also on the face of it seems to be giving a lot of what those of us in the pro GS camp were wanting cleave power damage. Sorry, keep editing to add from excitement. The trailer is much clearer now, you can see some of the flip over in action (looks like the AoE storm to the block and the backward evade that gives resistance to the Dragoon dive)

It's way too early to judge any of this from a 35 second teaser promo. Saying things like "It's foolish to think GS would be any different/superior to Swords in PVE or PVP" is a bit confusing. That's like saying why should a warrior have greatsword it already has axes...

The burst is probably the Iai sheath I would imagine, kind of like full counter.

This. A significant portion of this promo was in slo-mo for effect you can't use it to presume the actual speed of the abilities in game. We'll only get a better feel for that on Friday and next week.

Yep, it's pretty metal. In Factions the Spear empowered your attacks once you got it, this is probably just a visual representation for follow ups and flavour I assume.

I agree, I think the Spear attack may just be a follow up type skill. Personally I think the shout into dragoon dive is the elite. The mist explosion before the dive is reminiscent albeit in a very small way to the Jade Wind death wail from the original promo trailer and the end pose seems to be the Vindicator's signature pose (since it's in the artwork and emphasised at the end of the video. Here is the original promo video for anyone who hasn't seen it -

There are three interesting/justifiable things about channeling them in the context of Canths and EoD in my view - 1. They (together with Vizu) are arguably as responsible as Shiro for causing the Jade Wind or at least as impactful on the original narrative (of course only because they were the catalyst bit still, as you say they must have done something to be revered as champions). 2. Seeking out Viktor's Ashes and Archemorus' Spear were key in fighting Shiro the second time signifying at least some power particularly on a mists/esoteric level which is Revenant appropriate. 3. We don't know the status of the Kurzic and Luxon relations in EoD (or at least I don't, not sure if it has been confirmed somewhere). Channeling an alliance may be foretelling or at least interesting from a narrative point of view.

Awesome trailer and a great choice! Also the fully fleshed out silhouette is basically Ninja Batman. To me it looks like we can stance dance between Archemorus and Viktor, Archemorus being offensive and Viktor being defensive. Plus Dragoon dives... wooo

Not sure I agree with Herald strictly being Defensive Support. I would classify it more as being pure Boon Support (I.e. Offensive and Defensive). There's nothing particularly defensive about perma Fury and a good stream of might. Coupled with this Elemental Blast, Burst of Strength and Chaotic Release are all strictly offensive.

I agree. Short of Herald getting the scrapper treatment and them adding quickness to one of its buffs (since Rene has Alac) I can't see Herald being specifically buffed in lieu of Core.

I actually quite like this concept. Demikrov's artwork also actually fits the silhouette quite well. Maybe it would be the oracle and all the envoys with a similar concept to the one you outlined. Oracle could also give those wanting a ritualist spec a ritualist. They certainly have a tie to the mists and quite an important role in the Factions MSQ. They may be a bit lite on lore but that can always be written. May be a little similar to Kala and her warband though and I doubt they would choose any of the individual Envoys. Nice theory! Hopefully we have a chance of finding out a bit more tonight if this week plays out like the last beta did.

I mean, no one else managed to chip a tooth before that? By that logic with the commander having been involved in killing 5 elder dragons there really isn't anyone stronger than us from the past so why bother channeling anyone?
