  1. I will always repeat the basic of why people choose Mecha. Mostly are casual players who choose Mecha cause is simple and easy to use, they aren't elite, they simple want to complete things, they see an easy class, they start to play it. Plus, Mecha have a robot, and a robot is at the start of the game interface before entering it, so people see it, check what class have something similar, and are more interested in try the class who use it (Robot genre fans are everywhere). And in any case, Virtuoso is like the preferred DPS in the high end level party where you have less casual and more elite.
  2. New banners cannot be picked up (was in the note), duration is 15 secs, with 30 secs cooldown, so we end up with around 15 secs without boons.......... on this part of the changes, they are worse then even the current banners we have.
  3. I would like to read the name of the 2 specs guardian dps are competitive with, (And i say guardian, not FB specs), but apart that, i would point out one simple thing. Soulbeast after the "nerf" 28/06 to elite skill and extra duration to it's "class skill" was really in a bad position and shape, expecially the power build; but they simple changed the weapons coefficient and he returned at a decent-good level (At least as power build), so why not do the same with the other classes? You can mods a little various weapons and see the result, is easy i think and give nice reward without "destroying" traits of entire specs.
  4. Restarting a game from 0? Unless is with unreal 5 like engine graphics, can run on a 2019 PC medium specs (1070 around to be on the safe side), be a complete revolution from the start with epic classes and multifunctional world build for them, no, 0 interest (and even with all that, can be an hard decision after all these years). If i have to start new, there are literally 10+ games around (many free or to simple buy the core game for play) that are good to get on, with a lot of people playing them. And we need to remember that wow get dragons now, and ALL are hyped by that fact, but noone practically know that Skyskale existed before and the movements and special moves are literally similar between them (And Skyskale come years before the wow Dragons). So, to summarize, GW2 need advertisement................. simple as that and nothing more to became a top 5 game in the world. (apart stopping nerfing classes with random balance patch, let people play OP for a change)
  5. I posted this on the main topic about the patch, and come here to read about it in the warrior forum, (to see what the thought are) but i don't know if i am really missing something big from the patch note or the people who play now warrior as a class are so desperate to see only the nice changes and pass on the "nerf" that some change really are. Talking about the banner and the nerf we get with the change. (math is simple) Recharge reduced from 60s to 30s (except Battle Standard) Nice change, faster recharge = faster moving banner to go with the party (battle standard is powerfull, i think will be ok if stay at 120 sec). Animation changed; cast time reduced by 0.2s (except Battle Standard) Nice this one too, faster is better here. Light combo field radius reduced from 600 to 360. Combo field duration reduced to from 5s to 3s. Range nerfed is a bad thing, is like you are negating the 2 previous change with this. Pulsing boon radius reduced to 360. As sayd, reducing the radius is a nerf and don't help at all the previous nice change to banners considering people tend to move around and 600 is barely enough to cover basic movements during a fight. Once dropped, banners last for 15 seconds, and can no longer be picked up. What is this incredible mega nerf to the banner? Now in game they last 60 secs and recharge in 60 secs (Battle Standard is 120 secs recharge), and can be even moved around AND have a radius of 600, BUT with this 02/08 patch, they last for 15 secs only and with less radius? (even battle standard have only 15 secs duration from the actual 60 secs?) so we have 15 secs without boons now? (Battle Standard have like 105 secs with no boons now instead of only 60) Is this a bad joke, a bad nightmare or i am missing something really big and good from these preview of the patch? Banners no longer grant quickness on drop by default (except for Banner of Tactics in PvE only). Nothing to say here. All banner skills (except for Battle Standard) have been reworked. They now grant different effects when dropped, depending on the banner Pass on the explanation of the new banner rework. Pulsing boons have changed to the following: Banner of Defense: Regen (4s) Banner of Tactics: Resistance (2s) Banner of Discipline: Fury (4s) Banner of Strength: Might (10s, two stacks) Battle Standard: Fury (6s), Swiftness (12s), Might (12s, two stacks) Ok, nice to have new duration and new boons, BUT how much time between the boons pulse? Actually we have a boon pulse every 3 seconds, but no info about that with the new banners rework, so, stay the same or is changed? (i tremble to the though that the interval get changed too)

  7. Was reading all the various posts and i cannot believe that only one person noticed the "extra nerfs" the banner have taken...... really, 3 pages and only 1 person noticed at least 1 of the various nerf banner received confronting them with the actual one used atm? All the post are about the needed change to the banner (noone noticed the multinerf they get in reality) and random rant about Mecha and FB (yeah, they are the most talked class of the game, the image of GW2). I am seriously a bit shocked from the non-existent reaction about it
  8. Sorry sorry, i get set on the contents of the topic about the discussion of equipment, so, didn't notice the original subject of the post (the post before was asking about guides and about BiS spec gear)
  9. Was checking the benchmark ranking of the dps in the snowcrow site...... yeah, there are various Condi build (Specter, Harbinger, Renegade and more (even Mecha is in it)), but, you have power build too (that are literally berserker all of them) like Bladesworn, Soulbeast, Catalist, Virtuoso and the difference is like from 37k condi build to 34k power build); if you do PVE contents, you can easily use a power build of one the the mentioned classes and be ok until later in the game, i don't see a problem here. So, which are the classes you are using now? (don't know if you wrote them here, if so, sorry to ask again, but please, repost them, thx).
  10. As i posted variuos time, Mecha dominate in the Meta because is a simple and easy to use class that casual players take seeing the Robot at the start of the game (Mecha have the robot, people see the robot at the start of the game, what class casual people think about to play with these 2 info? The class with the robot, obviously). Casual don't have 10 alt char full multiequip to change between so they take the easy class out (mecha) that can do more then 1 role, gear it (and you spend some weeks for it as a casual with not full storage materials or some thousand of gold ready to be used) and stick with it how much time they can. Elite players hardly use Mecha, Virtuoso is a lot more powerfull and with a decent rotation too, so they choose it for the DPS one (but noone ask to nerf it if i am not wrong, even if Virtuoso is totally superior to a mecha). And datas proved it easily too. And remember the part added to the explanation of Catalist nerf (Devs find out some elites raid players were stopping hammer fire attunement skill 1 of the catalist around 0.5 sec for get extra dps from it (wasn't intended), and that is one of the cause of the hammer nerf in patch 28/06) when doing end game contents (piano rotations?? no, easy to 1111 way to play the class for 45k+ dps).
  11. Remember that they have to start on Steam sometimes this year? They need easy to access and easy to use classes CAUSE they are pointing all their efforts to end game contents like Raids, Strikes and so on........ (even on some meta events of the finals maps) and for that, you need a lot of casual players (Steam people are casual for the most, the platform is an aggregations of games in the end), and casual players don't like things too hard, that tend to get them to change game really fast. Like sayd before, they have a lot of datas, from all things in the game (they find out some elites raid players were stopping hammer fire attunement skill 1 of the catalist around 0.5 sec for get extra dps from it, and that is one of the cause of the hammer nerf in patch 28/06) , and i think they know what is happening and what is the direction they are trying to set the game on the future path. The problem is we don't have those datas, so we can only speculate about the future and the changes in the game that are happening.
  12. Another class could be Necromancer, with their elite, you literally get all roles in the game (from power/condi dps to support) and is one of the most easy class to go around the maps in the game (minions and go on).
  13. Harbringer can be condi or power, Ripper can be power (Condi is a strange variation, used very rarely), Scrourge is the support or Condi one. Check the build (if you can find them) or info about them but remember, in august there will be a new "balance Patch" to change some classes, so, you can start now, but be ready to change elite for what will stay "decent" after it.
  14. I think many here really didn't read in full the 28/06 patch notes, cause i just understand what he is talking about, and is one of the main point in the patch and why Anet try to get "easy classes with minimun rotation" more predominant in the game. In the patch note was written that we get a new "easy raid mode" where for 1 week one of the raid would get the "easy raid mode" active buffs (and change the next week to a new raid if i am correct) that power you up every time you die in a boss fight. I think that is what happened to him (he talk about a new buff), and that is why was easy for him clean the various bosses and the wings. (the way Anet try to get casual players to play high level contents and why Mecha, an easy to play class is choosen so much by casual players for raids (and considering you normally get full gear for it, you go with it in the other high level contents even if isn't the best option around). Holmindeboks is a casual player i think, the people who Anet are trying to appeal for the future of the game (Steam = a lot of casual gamers, so, you all add together for that ending) .
  15. The problem is that the class was in line with the rest after 28/06 patch, but get more nerfs in the hot fix 01/07 and they announced even more in the august patch........ is like how dps guardians now are around 32k dps and people say guardians get buffed after 28/06 patch (when they are literally on the lower part in the dps ranking as power dps build and the condi build (full dependant by Justice active effect so if is off, you loose a lot of the dps) is around 35k, like the Mecha with full rotation used or a Condi Berserker, and people say the warrior class is the worst one as dps ranking......). I posted the thing about the 1/4 are Mecha in raid too in another topic, but i can repeat it here. Simple fact, Mecha is a simple and easy to play class. If you check the 28/06 patch, you see an Extra in it about Raid, the so called "easy power up raid", where you can became stronger the more you die to a boss in a raid that have that "bonus of the week" active. Do you think that option is for the top elite raiders around the game or is an option for the casual players Anet try to set in end game contents? And what class a casual players would be able to take in a raid complex party? The "piano key rotation" one like catalist or an easy and simple to use like the Mecha? (the answer is straight easy to see in that post). So here is the explanation why you see many Mecha instead of other classes now in raid, cause they are simple and easy to use. (the rest as dps are normally Virtuoso plus some other extra if not all Virtuoso). I did today Fractal and the top dps was my Vindicator against 2 Mecha, even though i died a lot (1 dodge only limitation is problematic if i need to use it for the extra % damage), but they used Mecha and they had like 6k AP and 8k AP.......... the 26k ap was using spectre, just to add extra info, plus the obvious FB healer for quickness.
  16. Necro (check what elite is used mostly now and if is ok for your playstyle), Mesmer (virtuoso), ranger (Soulbeast power or the random condi top dps Untamed), Thief as Specter condi seem to do nice, Mecha power maybe too (but they say they will nerf it more in August). Guardian dps specs all got nerfed, Catalist hammer dps got nerfed too, Revenant is in a strange position (i find the class decent, not the top obviously, but i don't played it after the 28/06 patch, so don't know how strong is now), the rest have problems (like warrior, even though, Bladesworn is literally top dps elite) so these are my informations about the classes. Check them, and see what you can get to play nice with.
  17. Voyant, the last patch 28/06 literally nerfed Mecha, and the hot fix of the 01/07 nerfed it even more on all damage sides. The AARocket used after the patch could have been used before, but noone posted the result from it, unlike what happened after the rifle change, but i assure you, Mecha was a lot stronger before patch 28/06 strike, and there was no big problem about it..... (that is why i am so surprised from all the "nerf Mecha posts" that come after the Patch that obviously nerfed the class from how was before) Plus, i don't know from where the new of Mecha be top dps come from?? Using the POWER full rifle/kit grenade rotation with all at max on boons and condition on the golem (engi have a trait who give more damage the more number of condition on something are) over the normal limits we have in OW, he do around 35k...... in the middle of the dps ranker on the golem. All proved in the SnowCrow ranked classes. We have various other classes who surpass it (one is the Virtuoso, a ranged class like the mecha build used, we have the Bladesworn too, even though he cannot move around if you want to reach the top dps from it), but noone talk about them. All these info (and numbers) are facts proved and tested, but people continue to see Mecha as OP class when he was nerfed multiple times...... check the data please, and i mean the serious data, not some random video or comment where people say rifle mecha without buff do 30k dps, they was false (expecially the video, the person did around 25k full buffed and checked, but someone reported 30k unbuffed for whatever motive). I myself tested Mecha Rifle full 111111 and the result was (After 01/07 hot fix) around 23k dps against the golem.
  18. Original GW2 philosophy was that all classes can do all, from dps, to tanker, to healer, change gear and maybe skill and be ready to go. After HOT come, and druid became reality, that basic philosophy changed a bit........ and today, they changes are a lot more on that basic start. Where we are going now (to the old trinity character classes?? who know) is hard to tell, we need to wait and see what change august patch will give and what will happen in september.
  19. For anything new after EOD, i think we need to wait the end of the re-release of LWS1 (that is good to have finally in the game as permanent contents), so, around spring - summer of 2023 before having some info on new contents for the game. Nothing more we can do about it, we can only wait in the end.
  20. In your quote, you missed the (......) part that explain a bit what i mean about the 40k dps. We all know that real world dps is lower than 40k, but i consider that as the starting point.
  21. To give some last minutes info, Willbender nerf in pvp just arrived......
  22. Because EOD end game and some other end game contents was adapted to 40k dps? (the contents people ask to lower the difficulty cause are too difficult at 40k dps damage posted in many forums and topics ring nothing?) This isn't a powercreep thing, it is about the balance of the game. If you balance the entire game on 40k dps, you need to rebalance all again to meet the new 35k-36k dps OR set the dps to 40k again, whatever is the easy way out. (Cause you know full well you will never reach the ideally 36k or the 40k dps you get on golem in a real game scenario).
  23. I like to remember that with the patch, all classes lost around 4k dps flat, some even more cause extra nerf directed to the class, and i see only post about nerf this elite, nerf that elite instead of seeing posts asking to buff all classes as compensation for the 4k dps loss we had after the rework of banners, spirits, and spotter like skills...........
  24. Maxweigm, you nailed the arguments with your post, same with Kodama. From someone who use the class not as main, but for random pve and some fractals (alac build, instead of the normal renegade, cause i like Robot, and mecha have the robot), i can say that the class after 28/06 patch as elite spec, was nerfed, and hot fix 01/07 nerfed it even more on a general reduction instead of surgically nerfing some of it (true be told, before patch 28/06 Mecha was more powerfull, so, don't understand how people say patch 28/06 get him to be more OP, cause in that patch, apart the new 1 of the Rifle (a general weapon), and a change to Range attack Robot trait, the rest was only nerfs to the elite spec. Now, for doing some damage, we are obligated to use AARocket trait, (and Anet say they will change it in august, so another nerf coming......) cause all the other option expecially after Hot fix 01/07 do low damage and help less in the party on the dps side. I seriously don't know what the problem about rifle is........ is a general weapon, not the elite special one, on Holo you can even do more cause you on and off photon forge for extra damage option........ Mecha is a simple and easy to play class picked mostly by casual players who find the class nice and easy to manage, but the "nerf voices" want to nerf it because "don't have a piano key rotation"........ i find that argument really silly as a reason to nerf a class. (as dps, Mecha is in the middle of the ranks with a medium rotation that use kits, but nothing too good to be in a secure position, expecially with august incoming nerf getting near).
  25. You know that we lost around 4k dps flat from patch 28/06 to all the classes we have in game? IF we have to be true, we need to UP all classes to get back the 4k dps we had lost with the last patch, but noone is talking about that, only nerf here, nerf there, and more nerf...... You all understand that we get the biggest nerf in general dps in maybee the last 7 years and you talk only about Mecha, a class totally normal in the actual gameplay that was probably choosen by a lot of casual players who see robot and probably start to play it finding it simple for them to get in the game contents around the maps with it and maybe try some end game too??
