  1. just to point it out... some of my combos I am already hitting the second button before I find out the result of the first in order to get the timing right. I will launch a mortar and switch to thunderclap and start its cast before the mortar hits. I've already then committed to electro whirl in preparation for my close range rocket charge
  2. and to beat that detection the fricken mice allow you to insert randomised delay so that the exact timing varies.
  3. The one good thing about getting successively nerfed so many times in your class is that every fight is like a boss fight. If you manage a win against the stacked odds you feel like a superhero.... at least that's what I keep trying to tell myself as I have to pelt someone 50 times and will die if they land their combo once.....

  6. Yeah my main competitive build is doing grenades and mortar as well with hammer. I actually use bulwark (to counter other nade users) and blast.   8. if you weren't taking explosives and the grenadier trait, would you bother with nades though... I'd probably just slot another gyro for the quickness proc and if its bulwark the survivability that comes from stability and projectile denial. I actually sometimes play competitively a 4 gyro and mortar build depending on what I'm up against. But it still uses explosives trait line.
  9. I was in a ranked match with you using Shortbow. We did pull off a win, but I think in general I'd rather have you playing another hammer scrapper doing field blasts and interrupts for top effectiveness. In terms of 2 - 4k salvos How do you compare short bow to mortar? Firing into a team fight with mortar I can do quite significant damage under quickeness. I can trigger chills, blind, poison, and stack vulnerability and get synergy from explosive entrance and flashing. generally under quickness from chronomancer .

  11. You use to be able to do fun things with function gyro. It use to be better when expert examination actually did something to someone else rather than expertly applying protection to yourself (making the name stupid). But even now if you take function gyro with system shocker, expert examination, lock-on, explosive entrance explosive entrance, and flash bang you can giggle a bit from one button push. Was better when function gyro hit for more damage.... So you get fury, might, protection, swiftness (from lighting field blast) and blast all applying to all allies near by. You do function gyro damage to enemies, plus explosive entrance, plus apply vulnerability, make them revealed, daze for .5 seconds and either daze for another second or blind. Plus grant yourself extra fury beyond K.A. Now that's a pretty loaded skill 🙂
  12. Last point... when I say his nades are much less effective its because now their blast radius is minimise and they are twice as slow without the grenadier trait. They also don't have explosive entrance behind them. He's got one stun break and no stability.... so the CC and AOE condi spam we see these days will make his life miserable. Maybe I'll give the build a shot and see how it feels for fun.... but I know against certain opponents this will get wrecked. Last last point... If I recall I think that might be a top player... I can't recall though... there's exalted quality, outstanding quality.... I get them mixed up. did you check his title? Some players can play anything and make your life miserable 🙂
  13. The engi isn't running explosives. You can tell from his boons because he has kinetic battery and iron blooded. He's got scrapper alchemy and tools. So his grenade throw is going to hit like a wet noodle. He doesn't even get explosive entrance. Even if he goes full zerker to try to be not totally ignorable, then he's got 15k health. He can't do annoying things like flash bang because again no explosives. Are you sure he wasn't hitting you with mortar? If he's got as close to permanent superspeed as he can, he could only stack 10 seconds from wells. It means he's burning his one Rez gyro, heal, protection toolbelt, stun break and his one might generator all in sequence when he doesn't need them. To take a guess the build might be something like this... you can see the obvious problems. It's got no damage potential from nades, doesn't have the extra dodge roll regeneration, no stability and if he even wants to maybe do any damage he's running zerker at 15k health. If you show me the damage tab I can help more. But basically ignore it till last as it can't really damage. If he's silly enough to go zerker, CC bomb it and it dies. Anything that causes immobility or slow will screw it. He also has minimal condi removal and he has to use his toolbelts fror that, but he's been using his tool belts to maintain constant super speed so he's got nothing left. So condi AOE is going to hose him. A Cata will counter. He's got no range to contend with a DE. He's got no stability to deal with a warrior.... so yeah not sure what you're running but that engi build looks challenging to run.   15. Mobility creep has been detrimental to the game. Zerg to win shouldn't be a viable strategy.... it's like the dungeons where you stack to win... same stupidity.

  17. Ummm does it have a channel block and a reflect? Or something to keep you alive? They said protection and aegis... I guess we'll have to hope its a lot of aegis?

  20. If you are talking about other kits being terrible in regards to PvP, I will say that both Elixir gun and mortar and toolkit are reasonably viable. Alien's scrapper build (which he has an army of little mini alien clones running about) uses E gun and toolkit. Holos can make good use of toolkit. I use both nades and Mortar in a build... you'd ask...but why? Well cause to do any damage my scrapper be all invested in damaging traits and squishy as hell. So after a mele engagement, or before, a good 1200 range AOE will soften up targets and cause havoc to team fights. Combine mortar with the quickness trait and it can do significant damage into a team fight. In close mele, it has a chill and a blind, nades also has a chill.... so even when running a power build those can be useful to fight in on a point. I hate toolkit... but wrench with static discharge is effective, pri bar can hit for more than grenade barrage and it has a pull....

  23. Sigh... it's just going to be another kick in the teeth to engi when all these weapons come online. Its basically a stealth nerf because other Classes will be able to leverage their weapons and that bow clown shoe fiesta we get is useless.
