  1. When you are playing under rank 20, you are playing vs and with people in the same boat, as far as I can tell from my experience. Honestly it was one of the more enjoyable pvp experiences for me, since I was literally farming people outside of their spawn. Not fun for them sure, but was quite fun for me... So I'm not sure why you are upset, you are literally living a power fantasy under rank 20.
  2. If you are suffering a 1/3 win loss ratio, I'd say that personal improvement is necessary at some point. Watch good players stream, preferably those that play your class. Listen to their decision making, what matchups they take. Play the meta build, not something that you think is good. If you play a duelist, spend time practicing in 1v1s. If you play a roamer, learn when to +1 and when to disengage. Don't fall for the "die on point" meme, learn to kite. Think about respawns. And the list goes on and on. There are so many little things that separate a good player from a bad one that are absolutely in reach for everyone to grasp. But most importantly, learn to be critical of yourself. Don't go on forums and complain about broken spec / matchmaking / duo q's. Because you are not going to learn and improve if you are just throwing the fault on something else than yourself for your loss. Granted, sometimes external factors are decisive, but you can always, always, do better yourself.
  3. Thief will probably always be meta because of the +1 role. It’s easier to predict specs that won’t be meta, imo
  4. I like the hammer approach. Cut the bullshit, put specs in the garbage
  5. This is what people wanted for a long time, complete shave of the current power creep. Game is at a point where everyone can do damage so quickly, the line is blurred between a good player who knows his rotations and one shot monkey that pushes 2 buttons. Bring it on.
  6. 1 TIME 1 s daze that pulses poison for 6 iniative. its a nerf and makes the skill not worth the 6 init cost. id rather make the skill prenerf where it was just not damaging AT ALL and only applied poison like it used to...then thats where someone comes in and quotes me on how it was cancer for stealth users...rebutle = have you not seen how much anti stealth there is in wvw?!?!? For pvp, that change is clearly a buff, for the reasons already mentioned
  7. Dear Anet, My class has 2 dodges from endurance pool, 2 dodges / stunbreaks on utility, invul on demand, 2 dodges on skills, barrier spam and endless shitting of burn stacks. wHy yOU nErF mE
  8. No it's not. How do you play this game for 8 years and not gain a very solid grasp on it will effect intra-class combat dynamic when something is added or removed? Because we never had a patch on a scale where almost every single skill in the game is affected,Hence, we have no feel for what the game will be when it comes out,Changes only make sense in synergy with other changes - what is meta is decided by what else is viable at the moment, which can only be determined through testing and trial and error, Hence, people are talking based on their expectations centered around their class and speculating on something they never even experienced. Which is next door to worthless. The CC thing is based on the philosophy that either a skill does damage or hard CC, which in my opinion, is healthier for the game. Rampage is a great trial run for that philosophy and worked marvelously. Reduced the bullshit "one click insta win" effect and yet kept its relevant status as an elite skill. So frankly, I think you are in the hard minority here, concerning CC doing no damage.
  9. Considering how much the game will change, trying to anticipate the effects of the balance patch on the game mode and on the meta is frankly... ... idiotic.
  10. Recently we've been having great communication from Ben and the Systems Team concerning all things WvW and PvP related, be it balance wise or concerning other questions like matchmaking. I'm also very excited about the upcoming balance patch, I'm sure it will break the game in a good sense of the word ^^ With this post though, I'd like to address the subject of botting in sPvP as well as the report system in general. More to the point: Is botting more prevalent these days in sPvP than before, as people on the forum seem to suggest? How hard is it for a GM to determine if the report is correct concerning botting? How long does the review process take? Is it absolutely out of the question to have a feedback system for players that reported someone? (as in, an ig message "Action has been taken against this player based on your report") I think there is a lot of frustration from the player-base around the reporting system, as in there is a feeling that it serves little to no purpose regarding sPvP, other than the most egregious cases of verbal abuse.
  11. Alright there, step down off your pedestal. I'll worry about me and how I play so don't go making assumptions like you know best. I don't really care the reason for the win rates. It's clear though that something is not working like it should for that to be happening. Like I've asked in other threads, go find me a main stream PvP game with a ranked team mode where the win rates are that high of top players. I'll wait. 70% is about the upper limit of what should be possible and that would take some serious skill and a good dash of luck. 90% is ludicrous and no one should be taking any kind of ranked system seriously that produces those numbers. If you don't care then what was the purpose of the post? Seeking some sort of attention from other players? Like you seem to not grasp or understand that This Game Is Dead and The Game Mode Called Spvp Doesn't have enough Players to support the system that's in place. The Difference Between Overwatch, Dota, League and any other real Competitive rank game is the fact that they HAVE players and a bigger number to work with unlike gw2. Should probably step off the forums and actual research some of the issues that's been going on for years. Dude, what is your problem? You're all aggro, go take that somewhere else. The point of my post is to continue to draw attention to the issue until either anet bans me or they say something about it. I'll continue to raise a stink until one of those two things happen. I'm not so sad as of yet to come to the forums attention seeking. I just hangout here while at work to burn some time. I already know lower player populations is an issue. Matter in fact I made a post just about that looking for what could be done to improve it. You may not like how he says it, but this guy is 100% correct.
  12. Yes, a game system in a MMORPG that pushes people to socialize and play together to improve their chances of victory is bad for the game mode. Wait. Oh yes, playing together only counts if you have an unfair advantage to win. God forbid if you play together against another party who are playing together as well. Both of these things are fine. I don't see your point besides:Team A has a DuoQ, not me,Team A wins, hence because of DuoQ,DuoQ is hence unfair to me. Which is a line of reasoning problematic on multiple levels, especially considering the fact that everyone has the possibility of finding a buddy and playing with him. And it all sounds like entitled whining, if I'm being perfectly honest with you. Imagine if you apply this stuff to PvE. A group of players going around, clearing content together, progressing quickly and having fun. And then you are there in a corner, having trouble clearing one veteran, shouting to the skies that the world is unfair. So you hop on the forums and start asking for an exp penalty for people grouped up in open world PvE. Because it's unfair. And by the way, just for the record. I'm guessing DuoQ'ing posts are done here mostly by folk between s2 and g3. I can't imagine DuoQ'ing at this level would make any significant impact, because if I've learned anything watching National Geographic, it's that 2 headless chicks are hardly worth more than 1. The funny part is you insisting that having DuoQ in one team not the other is fair matchmaking. You are missing the important underlying message here of "get good instead of crying on the forums about your imaginary problems"Dont remember anyone getting top places being solo'q unless it was savage wintrading. But sure "git gud" would help /s So by your underlying logic, DuoQ is preventing all of the players here from wood tier to get to top 10 ? Interesting. So by your underlying logic, wood tier is everything below top10-25? Interesting. Thats where duoq is a must and huge advantage over any solo q player and denying that is beyond stupid.I dont speak about top100-250 because even monkaS with a bit of "skill", lets say, can get it (Sad that you dont get it. ClapClapClap)No, wood tier is anything between s1 and g3. And wood tier is not that much about the placement, it's more about the mentality. It's this fine crop of players who would find any reason why people are performing better than them other than "maybe he's / she's better than me". It's basically 80-90% of forum goers in the pvp section. I can't be clearer than that to you, I'm sorry.

Interesting. There are a lot of players that only do solo q that get to to 250. There are a lot of players who get top 100 that do solo q mainly too. The number of people that full on tryhard on vocal with DuoQ can be counted on fingers. And they don't all get top 50 or even lower than that. But sure, that's the only reason people ever get anywhere on ladder in this game. That and wintrading. In fact, 99% of players in top 250 are either wintrading, duoQ try hard with gold players in the dead of the night or are just playing broken spammy builds. And you are better than all of them. Clap clap clap
  14. Clearly I’m the one who needs to “get good” that’s why I keep insisting that we should keep what is clearly an unfair advantage by any measure in one of the few competitive modes in the game.I guess you can’t win in ranked without duoQ... the sad state of pvp these days... I'm literally "wat" at your statements

  18. Making friends and playing with them in a MMO for mutual gain? I'd rather kill myself.
  19. I would remove stealth since it’s toxic. Remove all tps too because it doesn’t make sense lore wise. Thief burst damage should be capped at 15% of targets health because too much damage is not competitive. Remove initiative system and put skills on cds like on other balanced classes, like weaver. No dual wielding weapons / sets, as thief should have a free hand to steal. And you build on top of that.
  20. Yes it is hard because of the ui design.
