  1. I mean, you can't blame OP. They died in a video game and that clouds their judgement; sometimes a lot of nonsense is generated. I can empathize with that. But in general, that is our problem. We know anet has had some pretty bad ideas for WvW. However, it's also evident players somehow come up with even worse ideas so it's quite hard to filter
  2. I actually think power WB is easier to learn, and also scales better if there's additional players. Cele is good too but I feel it's more work. It's technically higher risk than cele but it's rather relative and who cares if you can just run away anyways. There are some annoying bunker builds you cannot kill, but again just ignore them. Harbringer OP? Probably. I'm sure someone's going to be like "well, my so-and-so build will kick your kitten" but good luck finding me when I'm already 5 screens away. Also anecdotally it's generally the power willbenders that I view as a threat because they can wtfpwn you if you're not paying attention. The Cele ones don't seem that impressive but I think that's because they're playing too scared most of the time, rather than the actual build. Like yesterday I saw a willbender tear up 7 of our players that got lost from the tag. I don't think they were cele because of their kill speed but then again those were SBI players who are made of tissue paper so who really knows. Note: If you want to make a montage, just make sure to fight whatever we're linked to during EST prime. Shortbow Cele Vindicator is pretty chill too.; you just spam dodges and then use the gs to leave if anything bad happens. Honestly, I was killing people while reading the tooltips and realized I had another set of skills! However, it requires SotO.
  3. Agony infusions are only used in fractals; so wvw infusions are fine anywhere else. Sadly there are no guards in pve. Though I suppose if you're not a power build wvw infusions don't even mean that much and anything non-power tanks guards easily enough anyways. And we are power crept we destroy lords quickly anyways. Of course if you want to min-max it's best to create characters just for fractals. It's more cost effective than buying templates, or wasting time swapping things around and potentially mixing them up. (eg accidentally switching to a pve build in wvw). A fractal character wouldn't need to explore the map either. Character slot expansion sales should be soon too. The main problem is of course those damned cosmetic infusions that are only agony resist. I think that should be changed. I would say legendary infusions but given how they've handled these things, maybe not.
  4. https://metabattle.com/wiki/WvW 5 out of the 7 builds labeled meta are minstrel builds. Typical party setup will be something like Pick 2 Main Supports: Firebrand, Chrono (both minstrel obv) 1 Healer: Vindicator, Druid, Scrapper, Tempest (all minstrel) 1 utility: scourge, or an extra healer from above (again minstrel) 1 dps: Zerker/Holo So 80% is pretty reasonable to say. Some may even do 2 chronos and a firebrand in the same group but that's so vomit inducing that you should pretend I never said it.
  5. Yea I actually did. I missed the part about the condition and strike damage reduction, I thought it was going to be just be additional condition and strike damage. Although in my defense they also took away the part "You cannot be downed while Courage is active." which was in the old trait but doesn't seem to be mentioned when Courage is active so it really seems like they just uprooted the trait entirely into a new one.
  6. It's actually 1500 more memories because the regular mistforged still costs 250 memories of battle. So if tickets are not the issue, it's an issue of about 60 gold vs 20 grandmaster marks. Granted you will probably get a bunch of mark shards for playing WvW. As a side note, it's probably a good idea to preview some of the pieces, especially the less impressive ones like the helm which may not be worth the effort even as the shiny version.
  7. It is fundamentally bad to have a trait in an elite spec dependent on another trait in a completely different tree. Especially a bad one like battle presence that has even more limited use on willbender. Even in PvE, Guardians cannot heal very well outside of Honor, and this is not even worth discussing anywhere else because of the massive trade off. And in general, that massive tradeoff means it's just not taken due to even in best case scenarios it is more difficult to execute.
  8. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/143072-condi-firebrand-how-long-will-you-be-left-to-rot/?do=findComment&comment=2094765 What are you talking about, it got nerfed heavily... somewhere. Maybe? This is what the devs read.
  9. Exactly. Even before subgroups existed and people had to make their own parties, people were blobbing since day one. Anyone that claims otherwise doesn't know how squads or boons work.
  10. Relying on your enemy being disabled in bigger fights doesn't seem reliable because the enemy would usually have a lot of stability. I think most fights go too fast for you to put rings down though I suppose you could combine Sanctuary with that other FB trait that gives might on disable. Then again I suppose Absolute Resolution in zergs isn't that amazing on FB due to the cooldown of 42.5s ; FB cleansing pales in comparison with other meta supports anyways. (But so does the healing)
  11. Ballistas are fine, and Catas are whatever. The main problem is arrow carts. They can't even do anything to small groups of 5. The dumbest thing is a pew pew ranger on an arrow cart because the ranger does more damage. They should make the poison volley like 15 seconds and have crippling arrows be the default. Then at least people will not want to stand in them.
  12. I am a Firebrand so I should be praised for existing. Wait, that's not a title. That's just the truth.
  13. I'm curious on why the changes are so different from the preview: Deathless Courage: This trait no longer removes aegis from Courage, reduces the duration of Courage, or causes enemy deaths to increase the duration of Courage. This trait now grants the guardian strike damage and condition damage reduction while Courage is active. The actual changes are nothing like that. Did they change it because it'd be too good or because there was overlap with Tyrant's Momentum (Lethal Tempo trait)?
  14. Yea the stability also is good for stomping too, not to mention the bit of extra flame damage. Heaven's palm is really niche and probably only good for troll stomping vs those stupid sustain groups that can res really fast. But even in those cases you probably would want the extra mobility since those people like to chase and lockdown much. Also the weird requirement of them having to be alone (??) kinda hampers things.
  15. Trash blob guilds that can't even cycle like a pair ventari of bubbles and/or guardian domes/blocks. This is why I think most people that play FB need to get off my class. And for some reason there's quite a few. That's why they need to hide behind 15-20 instant res skills.
  16. Nobody really knows. All these designations are arbitrary and it's not like we have any official population stats. So medium or high means exactly what Anet wants to mean. Basically, you can move to it or not. Maybe the overall activity is higher and so people can start moving to servers that aren't as relatively huge as they were in the past, etc.
  17. It was even more fun when people didn't have skyscales to afk and be 100% safe. Also the pocket raptors need a buff in wvw.
  18. nw Air Keep wall? Formerly the mad cow wall, but they got rid of the cow.
  19. Well, speaking from a WvW perspective. It's usually a matter of saving your cleanses for when you really need them and you cleanse their burst(s). But for this reason I feel smite (or even taking Valor) is better for most players, because it is too easy to panic CoP.. Also it really helps with saving Renewed focus for when you seriously need those clears, and you should be using f2 to reposition yourself and cleanse. You shouldn't be trying to land flames on people with f2 in these cases. This is especially important against stuff like Necros and eles because you cannot facetank that regardless of how many clears you bring. It is harder on Cele because fights are naturally longer and it really comes down to how you can spare cooldowns. And toughness doesn't help against condi I suppose (vs marauders) Although it also depends on how much health you actually have. (runes can make a big difference) The other thing is people in WvW frequently run dodge food, and it can be hard to keep up in a sustained fight without it regardless of who is fighting. Also maybe antitoxin relic.
  20. Oh yea, and the holding rune prices are a bit inflated atm. Careful with the price gouging.
  21. Yep, clear bias here and not even subtle at all. Pretty bad change. It's not like disablers weren't easily nullified by random blocks and projectile hate. Guess we're not allowed to delay the dev karma trains.
  22. Lock On is actually great for trolling stealth users. You just need attacks with AOE effects. Like nobody ever expects the revealing supply crate. I think the bigger problem is that it's in Tools, which is not easily accessible by many builds without a significant sacrifice.
  23. I honestly have almost never seen any such people trying to pretend to scout to get participation. But then I suppose most leeches don't have that kind of intelligence to come up with that or make it non-obvious. And I wouldn't hang around such people because people that leech in WvW are the lowest of the low not because they suck, but because they are also stupid since anyone with half a brain would leech in pve for many times the rewards. And gold is so easy to get in this game. Like I feel like if you should commit to something, you should do it with pride and try to do it well. If someone wants to be a useless parasite, then they should go all the way and find the optimum way of being a parasite. This way said parasite gets what they need and can kitten right off. Any less is just a lack of self respect, and it's a waste of both them and the other people's time. I suppose they could be leeching for legendary armor in pve but that kind of stupidity is immeasurable. "Oh hey, being able to randomly change into a power build with Shaman stats is definitely mandatory for open world, let's invest the time of a full time job into this", assuming they even know how to stat change. And the fact they are probably still here instead of gone and done in half a year like a pro leech is evident enough. Because of this I probably never would see or associate with them. Except on the forums maybe when they cry about how nobody wants to play with them-- great way to add a filter to avoid them. 🤣 It's my personal belief is if drama follows someone and it seems like nobody wants to play with them, there's a reason-- and it's usually them. And that was my point about having about 5 people to play with which solves most problems with participation and tag dependency. If you get a handful of people that you have common goals with, then it's much easier to play the game and all of a sudden tags saying mean things to you and "nOBODY aPPRECIATES mY cALLS" doesn't matter because you need them much less. And if one plays the game for many years and still haven't gotten a couple of people that can stand playing with them in their chosen game mode then, well.... then the problem is evident. Stop playing an MMO like a single player game.
