  1. First thing mentioning that we are going straight from season 4 to season 5.....made over a year ago. We are finally get lore on Charr, Norn, and the Kodan. HoT vets are getting a glider, a title and a gem skin voucher. PoF people who didn't buy HoT get it for free and that includes people already here not just the new offer. That's quite satisfying and a great way to keep me playing. Especially with the whole Braham chipped the tooth and how freaking angry he was with us about Jormag 'retreating' but now buddy buddy he is now, not to mention being there and watching Rytlock be told he was no longer a Tribune and not a peep about it since or Rox...what the hell has she not said to Braham? I mean On the way to the second drillBoticca: The two of you must go back a ways.Rox: Me and Braham? Ha, yeah. You could call me Eirsdottir, and I wouldn't blink.Boticca: Will he take it hard, do you think when you tell him?Rox: It's...not a conversation I'm looking forward to. I mean, you can't just throw that out there so really hoping that that little snippet is explored as well. Anyway, I love that I can expect to see this all in game and not be told 'and in this book here's what happened! We didn't include it in the game as it isn't that important!' (You know who you are. Cairne deserved better.)
  2. Yes finally more Norn lore!MORE CHARR LORE! YEEESSS!New peeps if they buy PoF get HoT for free. Awesome way to get new people to join the game! Yes thank you.Exclusive HoT veterans pack. Mordrem-themed glider, Vanguard Title, and gem store skin voucher.People who own PoF but not HoT will have the expansion added to their account for free.More Kodan lore, yay!4 content teams working on the game now. Nice!Prologue, Grothmar Valley, yay charr loreFar Shiverpeaks, yay norn loreAdding existing masteries into future content so they aren't stuck on one map. Joy, hated that I put points into that and it only worked on one mapNew mastery line that deals with spirits of the wild (oooooo)Strike missions, an introduction and ease into raids (nice, might actually try that to see if I want to raid in this game and is a great way to get people interested in it as well)Okay, Bone Skinner some Wendigo horror right there.Episode 2 has new world boss, DrakkarNew armor set for PvP, swiss-style tournaments, more seasons in between conquest seasonsWorld restructuring still happeningMerchandising, art work bookHot Topic will be carrying GW2 t-shirts, nice more brand awarenessFunko pop Aurene, Rytlock, Joko, also includes a code for a funko pop mini in-game (god damn Aurene is cute)And finishes with Rytlock beating the piss out of someone in the only way Rytlock can doI love that people who bought HoT is getting some goodies as a veterans pack. I love that people who bought PoF are getting HoT for free. I saw the constant tweets as more reminders more than anything else because I always forget streams exist (and Blizzard wouldn't stop with it's WoWC spam to the point I had to suppress them for the rest of the month). I understand disappointment though I'm just glad it's people over-expecting/over-hyping even though we know living story usually just introduces a new zone and a few tidbits. I'm just glad after reading all these comments and then watching the stream it's just cherry picking at things and not a Blizzard hyped Diablo 4 then told y'all you're getting a mobile phone game thing. Congrats on 7 years of the game, loved seeing the people dressed up in the theater, and can't wait to see what the new mastery does, along with what the lore is behind the forgottenish wild spirits of Owl and Wolverine.
  3. When I see a new skin, I don't say what I like about it. I pick it apart.compared to Feathers being one of my favorite gliders comparing it to that I'm going, okay, no colored flight trails? Dye channels look weak. Stupid tiny detail that I'd never see while gliding. Looks big on a human so will it have wonky scaling on asura/charr/norn? Does it make any noise (like the Dragon Fireworks Glider makes fireworks sounds) that will be annoying to hear on long glides? Will it be visually impairing while gliding down? Etc. Break it down like you would buying a computer/car/etc. If you are finding yourself going uhm, yeah, well, but and not having a solid on it, it's just not worth it. And imo, it's an ugly skin, watchwork made me think of, you know, watchwork, steampunkish wings with metal feathers and more than a few gears, smokish contrails coming off it or having like the watchwork chains from the twisted marrionette coming off you making it look like you're a puppet while gliding...not feathers that look like they were jammed into pieces of metal and a lackluster amount of gears. The god backpacks like Relic of Lyssa and that are more watchwork than this glider.
  4. Reading the book in the small hut while waiting for Shadow Behemoth. Don't remember if it's a 'boss' per say but that was my oh crap moment. Making the mistake of going into the Mines by the Destiny's Gorge WP in Crystal Oasis. Any prevent the **** from getting the ley-line energy if it's not on a map having events. The vine doggy that splits up as you attack it in Iron Marshes I think the map is?
  5. Tbh, I wonder if it's more people seeing ERP and thinking something completely different and clicking. It took reading the forums for me to realize it was about raiding and not, you know, Erotic Role Play.
  6. ....Are we deliberately ignoring mesmer portals and teleport to friends to make this a mount gripe? My issue has always been with how the waypoints are a pain in Verdant Brink. I can get to the paths if people need more on one or the other just fine in Auric Basin because they don't go under 'contested' the way Verdant Brink's does. So go help out noble means I get sent to somewhere else if it's contested and by the time I get there even with a mount, the rally point has either fallen or they no longer need help. And to be honest, there isn't a point in trying for tier 4 if you already got the bladed armor box. If they changed it to getting an amalgamated gemstone as well for reaching it, you can see people definitely doing it, especially if they changed it to a Hero's Choice Chest. I can attest to this since it used to be pain trying to do Choya Pinata until they changed to the Hero's Choice Chests in May of this year. Now most the Casino events tend to succeed whenever I'm on.
  7. I'd love to be able to have something like being able to put my favorite minis in the home instance to show off.I loved the pet battles that were in WoW but can already see the crying (it's even in this post) about making the 'black lion chest ones' weaker because so and so which is a bit bogus to me since all the minis can be obtained from the eggs. Sooooooo....I'd think it'd be very interesting to see minis used in a similar manner as the Garrisons from WoW. Send them on missions to collect items sort of thing and to encourage people to collect, certain minis can wield a better reward than others. Like a mission to ruins would have a better chance of rare loot if you send a Priory mini instead of a Bandit, stealth missions have better chances with Whispers minis, etc. There could be region ones too like sending destroyers against Mordred, or pirates to Southsun Cove.As for the loot, again it depends on who you send, better fit for the mission, better loot. Have some missions be rare to see because they have the bestish loot like a Lionguard mission that has a chance to drop a ticket scrap, or ultra-rare like a diplomatic mission (can use Queen Jenna to raise your loot chance) that has a possibility to get an infusion or a key. Since most the minis are obtainable in game, it'd work out to be a nice system though I know coding and time limits can be a big issue on that.
  8. Engineer was the easiest for me because I always forgot you could switch weapons and well, don't have to with them. I just wish the weapons were more even in comparison since I love pistol/shield but always tend to get whispers stating I should do ** because it's better. Think Revenant has been the hardest for me with Thief coming close. They just aren't clicking right and feel clunky in their energy mechanics. Right now, I'm just tossing tomes at both of them to get them to 80 and then be able to see if I can find a build that would work out for me however I hope it isn't a thing like the Engineer became where I can make it work for me but the open world/soloing won't be as kind.
  9. No. I've said it in another post asking for pvp in towns and I'll say it here. Everyone's definition of pvp is different. And it doesn't work in WoW, hence why most the pvp realms are either extremely onesided (Sargeras; Alliance:Horde is 10:1), or low pop. I remember doing the 'find Thrall' quest line and the one part was a nightmare because of aoe. See, in WoW, someone can flag and if you aoe an area and they walk into it, IT AUTO FLAGS YOU saying you attacked them, when in honesty, you didn't, you aoe'd the mob. It'd auto flag you if you accidentally healed someone that was flagged. So small platform, tons of griefers flagged and it was an immediate hotfix where they had to make the area a no pvp zone until they worked out coding because it was unfair being on a quest and then being ganked by 5 players who flagged themselves because I hit a mob with a aoe radius spell and they made sure it hit them.So no. I won't find it fun to find myself being corpse camped to the point I log off. No it would not be fun to be doing a jumping puzzle only to have someone with knockback at the end of it making people fall to their deaths for the lulz. So yeah, if that was every implemented, it'd might honestly destroy some of the ways the game functions. I mean, would you trust a mesmer to port you for a JP knowing that they could flag themselves quite easily and taking the port would flag you as well and find that hello, they have a ranger on the other side with a longbow and a cliff on the other? Would you trust a person who was flagged during a World Boss fight where all sorts of spells are going off that they could be hit with? I could see bounties being purposely failed because someone won't unflag. I can see events being griefed (Choya Pinata) because someone wants to flag and troll. So no. I like this game because of the fact that there is no consequence to helping someone out if I see them downed, dead or getting overwhelmed other than hey you look like you needed help. I do not want to go back to being the way I was on my shaman in WoW where I see a flagged player getting their butt handed to them by a mob and not do a thing because I don't know if it's a trap. To have to target and look for the words flagged and tell them to graveyard walk if they are because I don't know if it's a trap to res them. To have them jump in the middle of a group of mobs I'm taking down because they know chain lightning is in my rotation and having to abandon what I am doing because I don't want to be corpse camped. And if you look at most the wow forum posts about it? WPvP is actually considered dead to most of the players, even to those on PvP servers. When players themselves are having to organize events to get people to WPvP, you know the idea doesn't truly work because, as I said, everyone's definition of pvp is different. And to add, I played WoW up to Warlords of Draenor on both PvP and PvE servers. Nothing like going after the boss arena at Timeless Isle trying to get all the fights in only to have to bail because a raid group of Alliance dropped in. Nothing like going through Spires of Arak and having to log off and come back in the wee hours of the night because the Alliance multi-boxxer with 5 accounts was sitting on top of the area for the rep grind daily. And in PvP, I pretty much leveled to max in the city without really setting foot outside of it grinding dungeons because sadly it was faster than actually playing the game and being out questing since most the npcs were dead or I was corpse camped at the graveyard to the point I just logged off for the day. And good luck at doing the battlegrounds because you'll get a few good ones and then oh hello multi-boxer who just hit me with 5 frostbolts at once but in no way is it considered 'botting' by their standards.
  10. @DonArkanio.6419 said: But this isn't borrowing from the design. This looks like a copy. So what's with the defending? This weapon was created after the one in Rift. And it's just as identical as it gets. It's cool to draw inspiration from different sources but this is a straight rip off. Isn't it? The artists here walk a very risky path. While I love the artstyle od GW2, this is unacceptable to me and I want to know what's behind this weapon. I think some people (including me) want answers. I'm not defending anything. I'm talking about the whole thing. The blade wings and the 'unique' design of the sword which I'm damn sure I've seen before in some iteration and it wasn't from Rift and it frustrates me that I can't place it because I know that sword design wasn't unique to Rift. Besides finding a version that is for sale that was posted last year in a 3d shop; I've seen that, angelish person where the wings become the blade of the sword design and I've spent around two hours so far googling the games I used to play obsessively as a kid, Chrono Cross, FF8, FF9, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Mana, Dragon Quest, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicles, any Castlevania game I could grab, Phantasy Star Online 2 and dozens of others. For some reason though, I remember the design being like a two-hander weapon. Overall, all I've found is my love for Skies of Aracadia Legends hasn't simmered at all in 17 years and I'd throw all my money at a Switch port or a graphic remastered version. I guess I'll be happy with Crystal Chronicles,
  11. All the people sitting here saying they ripped off Rift while I've seen so many versions of this I can't even place the first time I've seen it. I wanna say one of the Final Fantasy games. Then there's Penny from RWBY, I think there was a Magic the Gathering card, and I never forgot that annoying blade monster that was a giant sword with blades around it in SotT. Didn't Runescape or Everquest have something like that too?
  12. Mordremoth. He wakes up, he sends feeler vines into the world and he broke the Pact to the point that no one wants you in it as the commander anymore. He did a 'hold my beer' when the Pact was all 'we killed an elder dragon, nothing can stop us!' He went after the leaders summit and in the end of it all, made you fight against the one who go you there in the first place (Tybalt, Sieran, Forgal) and overall sewed some distrust of sylvari in the other races. Joko. The slow build up in Path of Fire to going oh crap in the episodes was great. Wish he had lasted a bit lot longer than he had.
  13. Very few friends but oddly, I have a bunch of followers? I've always had a hard time using the system so don't even know how to follow someone in the first place.
  14. You know, the thing that gets me is having played on WoW PvP servers, and why I've developed such a hatred of it, was simply because everyone's definition is different. My definition is 1v1 and whoever wins, wins and the loser to the fight can either run away or try again. Just a Lancelot HA-HA and everyone goes about whatever they were doing before someone decided to beat someone else's face in. However, most of the people I played with in a guild had the definition as corpse camp the person until they log off in frustration. Kill every single NPC in town so no one can turn in a quest to the point that the only way to level up was to either grind dungeons or battlegrounds or they quit the server. Which is why PvP servers on WoW like Sargeras where Alliance outnumber Horde 10:1 to the point the players themselves made a PvP server into a PvE one simply because of Red=Dead. Horde got tired of not being able to enjoy the game as originally intended and moved to other servers or quit. Then there's the balance issues. Even taking a glance at the forum says so and so is OP and why you nerf this, etc because you can't truly separate a profession's pve elements from its pvp elements without affecting one or the other. I remember being so frustrated when they nerfed guardian druids making them one of the worst tanks to have in a dungeon because they were too strong in PvP but couldn't separate the elements out. And for GW2, Deadeye is a good example of what was good for pve was not good for pvp and vice versa alone with a few other professions who do well in pvp but lack being sustainable in pve. So yeah, as stated by others and whatnot, everyone's definition is different, hence why most people stay away from pvp. If an event like this happened where I'd be ganked (cause your version of pvp of killing afk players isn't what I consider pvp) just because I was in my inventory salvaging items after a crafting spree in Divinity's Reach, I'd simply not log on for the entirety of the event. Then someone would be on here complaining that the pvp event was a fail event as they had no one to kill.
  15. So if Guild Wars 2 made a mobile thing, I don't want another game, I'd like an official app. Let me talk to guildies, access the TP to see if things sold/buy things, a world boss timer, seeing what home instance nodes I have and don't have and maybe....MAYBE....because fit is all the rage a step counter or something that tops off at earning a certain amount a day and can be used in game to buy things (like the DS's/3DS's coin system thing). But overall, basically like the WoW Armory App(RIP) but for GW2.
  16. All the main content is in the game itself and living seasons are free to own until the next one arrives. The cash shop is more or less cosmetics and only add a 'look at me, I have disposable income' to someone's account. They have added events (Boss Rush, Event Rush) to entice the player base to participate in events that usually either have to wait for a daily for or organize a group for. They could...make so that you have to pay for the living seasons even when they are current (ESO), add all legendary gear behind a irl paywall instead of a grindwall(ArcheAge), gate it so that each race is only able to choose 3 professions (like only elementalist, guardian and engineer is available to you) and you have to pay to unlock the rest...for each race (Wild Star). That if you spent even a dime in the cash shop, if you don't do buy anything again they have your account banned and have a 'all bans are final' so you can't even dispute or find out why you are banned(Aura Kingdom), or simply be owned by EA.
  17. Collections added so that people who don't want to spend money can get some new skins in game to make getting the previous expacs more enticing for people. I mean, doing the raids nets you a chair, you should be able to get a new glider/mount skin in game too. And to the nitpick, I do have disposable income but it would be nice to you know, get a collection quest from Gorrik or someone saying they found a mutation in blank and want you to investigate and find out bloodstones, djinn or something else caused it and completing it got a skin. Or getting a letter in the mail from an NPC of one of the factions saying visit me and them discovering some new info and asking you to investigate that collections leads you to getting a Priory/Vigil/Whispers glider. A true centralized hub of operations for your character. I am still frustrated over Sun's Refuge (why do all that work to make it pretty only to know it's gonna be abandoned, WoW garrison all over again) and it'd be nice just to have that centralized hub to go back to for everything. Redesign the home instances, make a commander instance, just SOMETHING that will stay relevant from here on in. Something, anything to do with the factions of Vigil/Priory/Whispers. I relinquished being the commander of the Pact but I don't remember saying adios to the Priory and I should still be getting asked to investigate and do things from them. And I'm sure my mentor will understand but be quite disappointed that I never make mention of them nor do I have anything to do with the faction anymore.
  18. that only increases your wvw rank as i'm aware, doesnt fill your reward track, unless you mean the 'gain 2 rank' daily for the 2 reward track pots? I'm not sure as I haven't kept an eye on dailies that well so that may be the case. Next time I have it pop up I'll have to check the dailies and see what is going on if it just raises rank or not. I do know it's as I said that it's really slow because of rng though I've never been in a hurry for a legendary and don't log in every day.
  19. I am a hater of pvp as well and I have a workaround for you to get the gift of battle, granted it will take way longer than what would be acceptable because it's RNG buthttps://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Karmic_Converterspecifically the possibility of getting this itemhttps://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Box_of_WvW_Supplies.I've been grabbing it whenever it's popped up because yeah don't want to do pvp and am almost halfway through the track after a few months. I know it will take longer than just doing pvp but it helps me avoid the frustration and not make me hate the game for forcing me to pvp.
  20. There are some plenty of aerial threats in pof and hot. And the mount doesn’t go that high up or travel that far before you have to descend. Have you even tried the mount or are you just being blindly argumentative and condescending? I actually have and toyed with it the moment I got access to it when Aurene finds them and you have to win them over with the volatile magic. Climbed to the high point I could find and, as I said, noticed that you barely start to descend and saw that the endurance bar filled up. So I toyed with it going to the high point and, again, tested things out. Does the bar fill slowly if the descent is small, did it fill quicker if you fell faster, did it fill while hovering, did it drain clinging to the wall, how is skill 1, how to aim skill 1, what is the difference between using skill 1 in the air and on land, wait there are updrafts here, does it effect the skyscale, can I descend to fill the bar, grab cliff and bounce back up efficiently and tinker, tinker, tinker to the point my longest time was 45 minutes before I hit the ground taking my time to figure it out as I didn't want a repeat of the griffon dive bomb/ascend in case they made one of those adventure things out of it and I need to fly through rings or something later on (Jahai Bluffs Griffon Master adventure, I'm looking at you). I think I spent more time experimenting with the mount then I did doing anything on the map.
  21. Arenanet, you might as well just start putting any new mounts here on out in the cash shop the way ESO does so you can at least get some revenue for your work if people want something as special as this to be instant gratification. The community is getting a new, shiny mount for FREE because all we have to do is log in to get the episode and all we have to do is actually play the game to get it. At least show some respect to the devs and actually play the game? I mean this isn't the griffon, you can actually stay in the air with this mount. Anyone notice that the endurance bar fills when you descend and you can fly back up (I think a lot of you didn't notice that judging from the yes votes)? I spent at least 45 minutes in the air messing around with that alone and never touched the ground in Dragonfall! Getting this mount means that I can easily avoid nearly everything in Tyria/HoT/PoF because there are few to no aerial threats to speak of in game. It makes sense that a mount like this can and should be time-gated, to make it worth the effort of getting it. So no, there is nothing wrong with this being time-gated as I can easily see this becoming a WvW/PvP nightmare and hearing the complaints on that end the moment it does start appearing.
  22. .......Don't make a map that you can blast through in one day!Anet makes a small teeny time-gate on the mount, requiring you to stay active in the map a teensy bit longerOMG, how dare you time-gate!!!! And here I thought Mists of Pandaria was a time-gated grind to get the mounts I wanted....
  23. https://imgur.com/rWWaSc9https://imgur.com/4GvlJJU That's the loot table for the boxes. I only do Teq now and then ignore the event seeing as it's not even enough incentive to get people to do Triple Trouble (the one boss I'm missing achievements on -.-). Would have really preferred a currency system or, I don't know, adding more than one rare item to the loot table?
  24. I went by the time schedule and doing the portal and still couldn't get the cow even when waiting for the appropriate time. I was finally able to get the cow by going by the time it shows up but instead of doing the event, I used a Branded Riftstone in the map it was needed and that finally caused the right keepsake to show up. So maybe try that @Prophet of Flames.2783? Use the time schedule that was linked to find the one you need and do a riftstone instead the moment the event starts up. I have used that and have had either the golem, rifle or greatsword show up instead of the cow. It took me finally standing in Diessa Plateau and using a riftstone at 'cow time' to finally get it to pop. See the problem we are having is that the timer stays true until the last keepsake and then suddenly not abiding by the timer at all for that last keepsake.
  25. I'm experiencing the same thing. I've spent and hour and a half on two days now after reset trying to get the lost cow to finish Helpful Hero. Both times I'd be sent back to the same map, or a completely random map and even sitting in Diessa Plateau and doing the rift there thinking it will send me back to that map to complete the achievement hasn't worked. And the reason I did that was I noticed in my rotation those days, I was never sent there. Have you noticed if that's the same for you with the keepsake you are missing?
