  1. ranger has atm the best burst in pvp after mesmer (yes, mesmer burst is still over the top in pvp.)this burst is even easier to pull off in WvW, way more easier than mesmer.arrow barrage (5 longbow) can deal more damage than necro wells. axe deal good aoe damage too. (5 axe deal really alot but you can't move so it is tricky)greatsword 2 has a longer reach than most melee weapon.frozen trap got too much nerfed tho.ranger (and thief) can zerg without any problem. you just need to adapt your build for that.piercing shots can hit alot of enemies if firing on a good target. right now you can transform your ranger into a pseudo warrior with soulbeast and its stance sharing. you can also increase for at least 7.5s boons duration by 20% (moa stance).of course a ranger will never be as good of a support as an elem or guard but druide is moçre than decent as healing and CC. you can do awesome, stupid combos with staff, axe/axe. dashing right in the enemy blob and spinning like crasy.imagine a focus party of 5-10 druides that charge right through the enemy bus to hit the ranged ones behind with 3 staff. soulbeast can also grab just like a guard but faster, around him and root... i could go on like this but i think you got the point.metabattle should opnly be an indication on the trend. not the actual way gw2 should be played. (unless you aim for high pve dps)are you sure you are a ranger main?
  2. Take the entire thing out. Make it a flat, featureless plain for the fight guilds to do their thing on. the guild vs guild arena already exist. it is in the obsidian sanctuary.
  3. let me present you the ultimate pewpew build for ranger!i name it the "target destroyer". http://gw2skills.net/editor/?POgAMFlRw2YgsMmJOyL2P9SmWRA-zVIYRU9PGtrgKpg7B-w you can switch for rune of the pack instead of rune of rage for more damage if your group can't give you enough might or if you have trouble managing your fury.otherwise rage rune deal more damage (if under fury and doing crits).siamouth is the best pet for soulbeast pewpew. amazing breakstun with invulnerability (good vs retaliation) and very good charge attack. its f1 can deal around 10K with the correct buff. its animal ability can also give you some sweet buffs or invisibility!but you can still take jacaranda for team heal and extra AOE damage or smokescale for extra ompf and smoke field.brown bear can be an alternative too but imo is a less interesting choice.!!! keep in mind that if you dont play with the siamouth you can't take signet of the hunt because you will need at least one breakstun !!!(only the signet of the hunt, and maybe the heal ability may be traded for another ability. the rest is mandatory for the pewpew to deal frightening damage. as such you should NEVER activate signet of the wild unless you know what you are doing and really need that immobilization. ) scholar rune is a no go since you will get hurt from retaliation or surprise projectile reflection. if you don't care about survivability you can take hunter gaze trait instead of stoneform trait.sharpened edge trait don't deal enough damage but you can still take it instead of primal reflexe. signet of the hunt is highly underrated. it make you able to burst down any thief, war, quard, etc trying to block or reflect your pewpew.but in its stead lightning reflexe, moa stance, quickening zephyr and signet of renewal are good alternatives. instead of greatsword, you can take sword/warhorn. it is especially good when fighting in bus or large roaming group. but if you are alone or in a little group consider greatsword instead. it is better at 1v1 situation. both sigil of force and sigil of air are extremely good. but you can trade one of them for a sigil of bloodlust if you like. (which i did) Edit: you should always stay in soulbeast mode as much has possible but sometimes having the pet running around can be helpfull too. expecially if it has powerfull abilities. happy pewpewing!

  5. while fighting in WvW my character sometimes autotarget an ally, forcing me to retarget my previuos target.i do have autotarget disabled.

  7. HOT:we got guild hall, raids, big meta event maps, new WvW map, new pvp gamemode, new set of stats (4 stats gear). POF:few mounts and one more map. a waaayyy better story and boss fight. hot had the quantity and pof the quality. i want both.hot delivered tons of unwanted content because lack of communication and knowledge about what players like and want in each gamemode.pof had decent story, cool boss fights and very well made mounts. but nothing more. which made me stop playing the game for 2 years. oh and i want GvG. no, not that failure bastion/stronghold pvp gamemode. a proper, well made GvG pvp. like capturing a zone and then pushing a payload? i know you see that in every competitive game... for a reason tho. about WvW. i wouldbe happy if they just rework the old maps. like eternal battleground map completely reworked with each castle in the same place but with beatifull land and maybe new areas here and there. i know arena net mappers have the skill to makie beautifull maps.
  8. scrapper should have an extraordinary damage boost when covered in tons of boons. if i am right, scrapper can get 5% bonus damage per unique boon on him if he is under superspeed, stab or swiftness. the +200 power under celerity.my ieda of a potential futur engi spec.https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/106448/engineer-new-profession-the-mad-scientist the idea here is to use stance just like the soulbeast but instead of beast spirit theme it use inventions.each invention is themed around each race. for example the charr themed stance would be a jetpack that let you slightly hover above ground (no true flying. jumping will act as a normal jump with some extra fire animation on your back) that may create a fire field on use or trigger some damage and give you swiftness or superspeed during the stance letting you move fast in any direction. (going backward has the same speed as going forward). the whole spec i created is obviously not perfectly balanced and may feel a bit chaotic. but you ll get the idea.
  9. weapon summon is called kits in enginners language. and yes i would really like more kits. but if they want to make an original spec they will surely give new type os spells to engi which kits aren't.
  10. yeah lets go back to 5v5 conquest with retards team mates who prefer fighting instead of capturing points...3v3 or 2v2 should be a permanent gamemode.

  12. one thing we could add to this system is that only the team with the most territory on each map earn one point when the tick occur). so the stronger team will always be the primary target instead of having the second most powerfull team targeting the weakest for easy points.that also means that if one of the loosing team gets a surge of players they can caught up with the first team easier. so we get less situation where the first team has so many points that even when it is not first it still earns points so it is even more complicated to dethrone them.
  13. flamethrower scrapper can work well if the enemy team doesn't have guards (retaliation hurts). it is not OP and definitively not meta but its one of the best damage build for 3v3 pvp.aside from the flamethrower (which is mandatory), weapons and abilities depends on your taste. here is what i use:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PegAIRlZwcYVsOWJW+S+tfA-z5IeGFMB6YBoiB with strenght rune you hit the 10 power stack which always trigger "applied force" trait without the use of elixir to empower yourself.but as you can see, you get 5% damage per boon if you have stability and 2% damage reduction per boon. so elixir B will give you a very good burst when the celerity proc. i prefer to use hammer for the survivability and instant AOE stun. improve the build as you see fit.
  14. the way to go is to get rid of AOE limitation. if you could hit any number of foes in one AOE people will naturally stop stacking depending on the situation.
  15. scrapper is better than ever in pve. even outshining most class in power burst capacity with a good group combo.core engi is good only in condi.in general engineer suffer in pvp/WvW as its a class with tons of cc ability that deals now 0 damage.but as a support dps it really shine especially in little group fight. i now often consider using scrapper instead of holo.

  17. i prefer 3v3 over 2v2 and feel like this should have its own permanent gamemode.2v2 isn't enough to take down one bunker build in some circumstances.if i have to choose between playing conquest and playing 3v3 i will surely choose 3v3. i like to fight people.running everywhere to cap points and bunker down them in conquest isn't fun.
  18. what i would want to have is a new kit. a rifle themed kit with cc that helps keep an enemy away and machingun style auto attack.thematicaly more like a scrape rifle with tons of utility attached to i; a bit like one of those fallout weapons .and lets put a recharge mechanic to it. each ability from 1 to 4 cost different amount of ammo. the 5th ability is the recharge ability.15 ammo max. 1/ continuous firefire continuously bullets like a slow but powerfull machingun. apply one stack of vulnerability per hit.bullets can perfore.cost 1 ammo per shot.have a slow wind up time before the first shot. 2/sonic wavesfire continuous sonic blast in front of you in a cone. apply one stack of confusion and slow per wave.if the target is close to you it also push him slightly away.cost 5 ammo per shot. 3/ shock dartfire a single dart on your target. if it lands it gives you the ability to daze the target whenever you want if you are not too far away from it.the dart stay up for few seconds on the target. if the dart isn't manually detonated it will stun the target instead after the timer runs out but for less longer than the daze.cost 10 ammo per shot. previous dart need to be detonated before this can be used again. 4/ explosive shotfire explosive bullet that can hit multiple enemies. apply one stack of bleeding per hit. (explosive type)cost 3 ammo per shot. 5/ rechargerecharge your gun. grant swiftness. has a longer colldown than the other abilities but cooldown refresh upon using all ammo.you rechargez faster under celerity. belt abilitythrow a little device on the floor.it wil first use one sonic wave around it, then a few explosive shots toward your actual target. then finish with several continuous fire shots. then self destruct and daze any enemy close to it.

  21. you stack vulnerability and dps quicker so you can continue to dps the monster you are facing with other abilities.it is either protect yourself longer or deal more damage but lower the protection time.

  24. this is the scrapper i use in open world and dungeons/fractals.http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PeQAIlZwgYVMLWJO2LvtfA-zRIYRU0PGNLgKJgqGA-e it has decent survivability, lots of AOE, very high dps burst and overall decent dps especially if you have a team who give you constant boons with swiftness, stab or super speed.if you have a great team that give the boons you need plus lots of other boons you can replace the elixir B by a kit or a damaging spell/utility spell depending on the need.(you get 5% damage for each boons you have if you also have swiftness, superspeed or stab). if with randoms or playing solo, your burst consist of using both elixir at the same time with the gyro and hammer skills. for 6 sec you will have an incredible dps.then use your elixir belt skill one after the other when you lose your stab or superspeed to constantly keep the bonus damage on boons.also try to use your hammer jump skill (3) inside thunder field to get superspeed. (you have utility gyro f5, belt ability of the used guro and hammer thunder field (5) to put thunder fields.keep in mind that the elixir U is used as a buffer skill and not as a breakstun utility spell. but you can still keep it as a breakstun dependign on the situation and your team mates.using healing turret and exploding it right away with scrapper also give you superspeed. i think this scrapper build is the best of the easiest dps build for engineer as it doesn't require any weapon switching. (tho you could still take one if you want like the elixir gun)also never stay at full energy. do dodge sometimes to reset the explosif trait that deal extra damage after a dodge.ultimate is just for extra stun, superspeed, possible invisibility, heal and survivability in open world pve. but you can take anything that suit your playstyle. in optimum situation (which you will never fully reach unless with a good team combo for few seconds) with the boss you are facing having all condition from the game and you having all boons from the game + at least 5 explosive stack (can reach 10) and staying above 90% HP you get (with archetype only):■ +450 power.■ +100 ferocity (+200 is the max).■ +138.5% damage (so you basically more than double your base damage. now imagine with crits...).■ +25% crit chance.and with the right sigil you can get even more power and bonus damage.you could even use the rune of the scolar for that extra 10% damage. adding to that the fact you can use your basic attacks and high damage skill at the same time as your gyro skill, its utility belt skill and your thunder field with hammer gives you the best burst any class could have on an unmoving boss for a few seconds.
