  1. Sure if you call 33K- 36K DPS underperforming for a spec that is nearly all ranged and also supports people For me I'm taking the 36K DPs with an upside over 37K DPS with no upside... Been using specter to help out random players in T4 fractals and also with ad infinitum CMs with -80% healing (I normally use scourge/scrapper for those)
  2. Anyway that build choice (scepter+pistol) is not going to be nearly as strong as scepter+dagger as far as barriers if endless night only triggers one rot wallow venom rather than 7. That's something that can be looked at. Arenanet wanted the spec to have extremely strong single target barrier/boon support so I'm sure they'd try to tune it so the single target support is stronger and the incidental multi-target support is weaker on average. Given every support right now is 5 or 10 targets it's better they err on the over-performing side at least as far as barriers. In WVW/PVP the quickness output is far lower on endless night and torment output is far lower on the auto attack among other skills. ----- Firebrand loses ~7K on 8 page CFB without allies and so does condi thief (deadeye/daredevil). So as long as solo performance is in line with 34K or so it is more than usable.
  3. But look how much setup it requires? If the Rot Wallow Venom had a cap of some sorts (ICD on use right now rather than trigger) that bench probably wouldn't be possible.
  4. How is that different than other condi thieves or even firebrand?
  5. Yet from what I've seen it does 33K-35K-ish solo and 44K with allies making it a high skillcap class if the Rot Wallow Venoms require proper positioning and initiative management. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCfAUGn8MK0 The class will be mainly positioning management instead of energy/adrenaline/cooldown management (4 kit condi mech 🤣) if the UI (including hotkeys) is tweaked to better support targeting allies. The issues with Specter, unlike some other specs are mostly QoL (UI , action cam, well cast times , random port with Measured Shot) or number tweaks. I ran this elite spec both in W1 raiding and T4 fractals and it felt fine. My guildmates ran it on full support for WVW while I only tried it on plaguedoctor+tormenting rune and they really liked it ("focused barrier is insane"). As I stated in the preview feedback , I think it will be cDPS first and barrier/boon upkeep second similar to how you use a scourge.
  6. If you look on snowcrows it's full viper + tormenting runes. Quickness harbinger is firebrand rune instead https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aznuAyXSW6A
  7. So what you're saying is run power mirage instead of power virtuoso?
  8. Virtuoso doesn't have the ambush, why would you say "good thing it has the ambush" , that makes no sense.
  9. ? If you run mirage you lose out on all power bonuses chrono (including phantasm recast via chronophantasma) or virtuoso (15% strike damage mod , 10% crit with fury) has to offer.
  10. From testing on golem it drops your passive Mech DPS from ~ 7K to ~4K if you run ranged trait. It's quite possible why it feels strong in WVW/PVP damage-wise is maybe they didn't split the Mech damage , even if the active Commands are split.
  11. @Zok You cannot use the ascended WVW pieces as precursors after stat swapping them in mystic forge. It's the same as weapon precursors.
  12. Even outside golem it was pulling good numbers where you would run power (anywhere condi doesn't get a huge bonus exposed buff). Greatsword has half the attack speed , it's 1s activation and only hits 3 targets. That's why max tagging mirage needs the ambush.
  13. Having played it a bit more I would like to see Vow of the Untamed change from "Your outgoing and incoming damage are increased while you are unleashed. Your outgoing and incoming damage are decreased while your pet is unleashed." into something more fitting as a minor trait: "Your outgoing and incoming damage are increased while you are unleashed. Your incoming strike damage is decreased while your pet is unleashed." The tradeoff is you lose 15% damage mod of Untamed already when your pet is unleashed and all the damage on hammer is on Unleashed Ranger not Unleash Pet. By running Untamed over core ranger you would probably give up either beastmastery or marksmanship , both of which have damage modifiers in them. You wouldn't want to drop beast mastery because the pet is much too slow without the 30% movement speed buff and 120 ferocity modifier is in that traitline on honed axes (120 or 240 ferocity = 8-16% crit). Marksmanship has Predator's Onslaught (15% mod) which is quite fitting with Untamed. Skirmishing has Vicious Quarry (250 ferocity = 16% damage mod) as well as 10% from Hunter's Tactics. CORE Beast Mastery (+20% pet crit damage from minor , +150 pet stats , up to 16% crit for both you and pet) + Marksmanship (15% from Predator's Onslaught for both , +5-10% depending on range)+ Skirmishing (16% crit damage , 10% damage mod) ---> with double axes your pet does +36% pet crit , +150 base stats , 15% damage mod for pet ---> your weapon and utility damage is boosted by 20-25% mod along with +32% crit VERSUS UNTAMED (30% max mods for player, +15% pet damage) + Beast Mastery (+20% pet crit damage from minor , +150 pet stats , up to 16% crit for both you and pet) + marksmanship (15% from Predator's Onslaught , +5-10% depending on range) ---> you trade off 16% crit damage of skirmishing and 10% damage mod for 30% max mods and 15% pet damage (since pet damage on its own is a few thousand DPS... not great) = not crit capped and gain at best ~4% crits UNTAMED (30% max mods for player, +15% pet damage) + Skirmishing (16% crit damage , 10% damage mod) + marksmanship (15% from Predator's Onslaught , +5-10% depending on range) ---> you trade off 20% pet crit , +150 pet stats, and 16% crit for both you and pet for 30% max mods and 15% pet damage which is net loss in pet damage and ~14% improvement while unleash ranger UNTAMED (30% max mods for player , +15% pet damage) + Skirmishing (16% crit damage , 10% damage mod) + beastmastery (+20% pet crit damage from minor , +150 pet stats , up to 16% crit for both you and pet) --->you trade off 15% damage from Predator's Onslaught and 5-10% damage mod for at most 30% mod for player and +15% pet damage which is a minor gain in damage of 5% or so You're talking about a net gain of ~5% on average for any trait combination of power Untamed vs core power ranger which isn't used seriously by players outside PVP.
  14. They're rebalancing AFTER EOD. It's been stated in the EOD preview streams I believe that they want to spend dev effort on designing the specs for EOD rather than rebalancing existing stuff.
  15. I don't think that is an accurate assessment then.
  16. Better yet it should only animate when changing state as revenant does and then have a subtle aura at your feet (herald facets) and/or hands (see the Saga's End Draconic Core).
  17. Eh if you're not having fun you're doing WVW wrong... we played for years before skirmish tickets existed while losing gold playing WVW. Repairs used to cost gold. Upgrades used to cost gold and the siege costed multiple times what it does now. There was also no ascended food so everything was at your own cost. Ascended armor used to be 300g a PIECE , on par with what legendary armor is now but gems to gold would only get you maybe 10g at best (see https://www.gw2spidy.com/gem) for every $10, now gems get you ~155g per $10. The poor WvW commander was a common thing, asking for siege donations.
  18. You're also forgetting dagger hits 5 targets every auto and its 2 skill (Bladecall) is on 5 cooldown. Virtuoso has major issues in competitive modes , but claiming virtuoso is unplayable in PVE is kind of perplexing. Dagger auto + 5 cooldown AOE blacecall is far shorter cooldown than shatters and on top of that you aren't reliant on slow for crit chance , you just need fury which is a gamechanger against trash mobs. Unlike "maximum tagging" power mirage it doesn't do shoddy sustained power damage either. I'm pretty sure you'd rather be stuck on dagger mainhand for 9s rather than greatsword after weapon swap too. All bladesongs have 5 target cap so I have no idea where people get the idea that it is single target. That's why I linked Tipcat and Misterred's PVE videos on Virtuoso for context.
  19. https://fast.farming-community.eu/instances/strikes Bears, daily = 65g/hour , ~3g WoJ , daily = 39g/hour , ~3g Boneskinner, daily = 37g/hour , ~3g Fraenir = 36g/hour , ~3g Shiverpeak Pass = 29g/hour , ~2g Strikes are more profitable than raids unless you can make a squad and also 1 pull in a comparable time (30 min a wing they had listed before). https://fast.farming-community.eu/instances/raids W5 =14g Weekly 5 CMs ~ 13g W4 = 13g W1 =<13g W6 = <12g W7 = <12g W3 = <11g W2 = <11g All this tanked after the infusions dropped in value. What this undoubtedly solves is selling instances. ======================================== Also the above person saying that it is a boss fight in a room... Forging Steel is a strike mission too.
  20. It depends on your stat choices too but with full berserker gear my mech died in Vale Guardian Wing 1 several times even in ranged Power spec (bomb kit/grenade kit, force signet , rifle mechanist 3-3-3) , luckily i had overclock signet (Mech healthbar is 40.9K with 1K vit). In Gorseval it did not die but took huge amounts of damage, saw it drop to half health at times. In WVW the health is less than ranger pets on average unless you are running more vitality than marauder. Condi spec isn't really viable in WVW unless you roam ; mechanist won't replace scrapper. It's worthy of note default gear is not marauder + divinity rune similar to other power specs, it is soldier's + exuberance rune...
  21. With the way shatters work currently you would need them to retarget and there's still going to be a target cap. That's why mesmers usually use focus pulls already.
  22. I'm pretty sure they will be looking into internal metrics for Shiverpeak pass after Return to Bjora Marches concludes. There was a hefty 7 mystic clover reward to entice people to do it. Your example of 150K HP with 1K DPS means even a person doing 1K DPS only needs 3 minutes to complete it. More likely that a boss would have 1 million HP (weak enemy in Special Forces training Area) or 4 million (average enemy). Shiverpeak Pass has ~11.7 Million Icebrood Construct ; Freezie strike is ~5.9 Million.
  23. The wiki follows ingame tooltips. It doesn't provide stealth, it outputs blind because a projectile in a combo fields puts out blind. A leap finisher as on dagger+pistol combo is what puts out stealth.
  24. They put an ICD on scourges for Soul Reaping's Dhuumfire, no reason the same can't apply for when Firebrand is traited.
