  1. Reaper doesn't dismount and the mobility of a reaper vs a soulbeast is worlds apart , nevermind signet of stone or longbow stealthing. Also I play every meta WvW class and my most played was chrono before it was gutted. My observation is that even when rangers didn't do nearly as much damage as soulbeasts do currently, people would sit on the wall and use longbow.
  2. To add to that: Unlike stripping the alacrity on renegades, boon stripping a herald isn't as hurtful because the reapplication isn't 20 seconds later. If Arenanet wanted to cut down on herald's prominence over core revenant the interval could easily be changed from 3s to 15s , with boon duration changed to match.
  3. If your squad is 5-10 people you should be running support firebrand. Leave DPS to revenants, scourges (from corrupts mainly), power reapers, weavers, spellbreakers, staff daredevils, the rare holos (rifle is less likely than sword), Soulbeasts (make sure they stop firing bow when reflects are up and swap to melee). If you are running support you'll want monk runes , mace+shield and staff, 1200+ heal power. stand your ground for stability, Invigorated Bulwark+Force of Will in Honor, Indomitable Courage or Battle Presence in Virtues. You can forget about using symbols because without CC they will hit once or twice. The less DPS in your squad the more you want to deviate away from minstrel and run mixed things like Marshals/Harriers/Celestial/Apothecary to either get power /condi (condi is less investment and resembles sage brand in PvP). However, if you only have core spec + low investment then you will probably be looking at celestial / cleric's + marauder because without firebrand spec you don't have access to much burning without running Permeating Wrath in Virtues.
  4. Nobody runs Superior Rune of earth in WvW, it's mostly durability or monk runes. Frankly, the soulbeasts are still overtuned in WvW because with 3K armor you can still get hit for 2k/tick Rapidfire (i.e. instant dismount death) due to keep bonuses, food/utility, and bloodlust. Soulbeasts are used for roaming, they're rarely run in a group setting due to reflects on firebrands and scrappers (i.e. the larger the group the more uptime on reflects).
  5. If someone really wants a multitude of shots at it they can probably reroll characters through the map complete as there's no hearts nor required combat. You'd need a squad with trees marked for maximum effectiveness. I still think there's an extra zero or two in the drop rate (as I stated on page 1) : it should have leveled out at a few hundred gold or so at best , especially given you need 3 different armor weights for the collection. Thousands of gold is an order of magnitude larger than what is reasonable ; if less than 1/1000 (0.1%) then that might need a decimal or two shaved off. For something so heavily gated I would say 1% or 1/100 is already low.
  6. Arenanet probably hasn't had a replacement economist since 2017 after John Smith left. There's an open listing as well if you think you can do a better job and are qualified https://us.ncsoft.com/en/careers/job-detail.php?gh_jid=1868200?company=arenanet
  7. COR isn't projectile and neither are phase smash & drop the hammer. As soulbeasts and deadeyes still run rampant outside of larger group scenarios , I'm not quite sure you want to nerf projectile hate.
  8. They're on relatively short cooldown as is, the only one I could see getting short cooldown is "You Are All Weaklings!" , particularly in PVE.
  9. Adding a stunbreak onto Ventari would make it more playable, whether putting it on a 5 cooldown skill is debatable. Upping energy cost means you have less energy to do anything else. I disagree with adding barrier to Rite of the Great Dwarf, the skill is ridiculously strong and is largely kept in check by the energy and cast time. Adding barrier on it would make +50% damage from warriors running the Warrior's Cunning trait basically nullify the skill. In addition, barriers are getting added everywhere, even warrior warhorn. Your suggestion for healing orbs traveling seems like it would add to server lag as every 3s each revenant auto-ing on staff will have them recalculated. I don't see a problem with them currently healing in PBAOE.
  10. Renegade is not often used because if you dodge you lose crit chance and 10 person fury from herald is great along with +10% HP.
  11. If it's Navi-based RX 5700XT you'll want d9vk. DirectX9 to vulkan. d9vk is supported indirectly by Valve on Steam.
  12. The problem with the shade change is you can't dismiss shades unlike minions. If the nerf to sand savant was done properly instead of making scourge even stronger in WvW at range, it would have been better. It's still possible to run scourge in PvP but you have to be quite prudent about shades and basically camp out once they're up. Putting them on a capture point tends to be safer since using F2/F3/F4 on the point generally is better than placement off the point. The problem is ranged damage really hurts you once they are up (such as rifle holo, soulbeast, or dragonhunters). Not quite sure on PvE, I run reaper there because outside of niche cases boon corruption is moot.
  13. The only reason to do an expansion is because people wouldn't pay for it in gems. If you spend a lot of time playing this game it's easy to forget the things added as part of Living Story such as roller beetle and skyscale.
  14. Of course it is worth it. Gem store purchases largely might not be, but the core game , expansions, and the living story packs are. Living World Season 2 Complete Pack (Dry Top, Silverwastes) = 1280 gem base price Living World Season 3 Complete Pack (Bloodstone Fen , Ember Bay, Bitterfrost frontier, Lake Doric ... to a lesser extent Draconis Mons & Siren's Landing) = 960 gem base priceLiving World Season 4 Complete Pack (Istan , Sandswept Isles, Kourna, Jahai Bluffs, Thunderhead Peaks) = 960 gem base price
  15. It seems to bug out more on desert BL than alpine due to terrain changes and more often at 900-1200 range (at the limits of its range) than at a medium 900-1000ish range. It appears that it is mostly an issue with facing. Preempting a hammer bolt auto before using COR seems to make it hit more consistently (and that removes aegis ; if you are running the post-nerf Malicious Reprisal it makes the damage far higher but due to 20 cooldown instated it is better to use Notoriety or Assassin's Presence) with respect to range and facing. Before if you didn't have a target it would just lay out the damage in a line , so I don't think that has changed. So in essence I think that the COR skill itself doesn't alter facing. Dodging before COR hits or fully rolls out seems to nullify the skill though. Other people I have asked actually noticed the hitting through structures more so than the buggy terrain issue. So if there was a LOS requirement then it wouldn't make sense that it hits through walls.
  16. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/88960/gaze-of-darkness-change-yikes#latestKnown issue
  17. Is it bugged due to autotargetting or target switching? It seems to have the same limitations as before, terrain-wise. Maybe it has to connect with the target before you can change direction. I need to further test it, but a list of things I have in mind for a test regime: Locations -- Hills/Bay stairways, Earth Keep stairway (unlikely to have this test case often) , Air keep choke points and rampstest cases -- switch targeting after cast, no character movement or facing change no target switching, character strafing but facing same direction no target switching, slight character rotation using mouse or A/D keys no target switching , moving forward/backward , no facing change** switching targeting after cast, moving character with strafing , no facing change
  18. Have not been able to replicate this problem and I asked around and nobody else had this problem either. Could you be more specific as to: where you had this issue (PvE, WvW, PvP)which boons your target hadwhich corrupt you were usingPeople I asked suggested maybe if you were using scourge you didn't notice the shade changes.
  19. I tested it in WvW and it seems to have the same terrain limitation as before. Do you have autotargetting and/or target switching on?
  20. You get to use legendary armor / backpiece/trinkets for any number of equipment templates , making it no different than using the gear stat selection panel. Legendary weapons aren't as useful due to the nature of weapon skills: most weapons are either power or condi. Legendary armor doesn't mean you invested more in the game because unless you spent gems to buy gold it has nothing to do with the gemstore. It just means you spent more time in a game mode the vast majority of the playerbase doesn't do, whether it is raids or WvW or PvP.
  21. I'm not sure why people keep pinging devs in their topics, it probably just adds to their inbox clutter. Anyway until it has been shown that Trooper Runes are broken (with an actual build and use case), this thread is moot. On tempest you're looking at only max 2 conditions deep (with "Wash the pain away") ; in comparison scourge has 10 cooldown on their f2 , firebrand has on 12 cooldown Mantra of Lore (Opening Passage) which clears 2, and scrapper easily removes 5 conditions with elixir gun's Fumigate (12 c.d.) or purge gyro (20 c.d.) which is also a light field; 4 with Med kit's cleansing field (15 c.d.). On guardian you would lose heal power/boon duration as well; on warrior you'd give up sustain to run more than one utility shout. Monk runes are strong and the defacto "heal rune" but not gamebreaking. +10% outgoing and another +10% maximum is +20% or 21% depending on if its additive or multiplicative. If it's changed it would probably be a flat +125 heal power for the 6th bonus (similar to Altruism , Scourge, or Rebirth) instead of +10% outgoing baseline.
  22. They're okay, could be a little bit more difficult though as you can power through them with scourge barrier or any form of minor incidental heals on mix-matched gear. The reason I say this is because everyone I've seen in party has said the same thing when doing it, including those that do not raid or do anything other than openworld content. The first few days people that raided would claim to clear it with 5 people armor-less , which is a bit extreme. I feel as though if you have more than 5 people that it could have a bit more damage output or CC since you can afford resurrecting or support classes with that number of people. The Frosty dungeon that was added for Wintersday would probably be a good baseline , or even the single player storymode after HOT. I would compare the current iteration to T1 fractals but easier. The good thing about ease is that there is no request for composition or class discrimination as the difference between 10-15% more damage is moot when there's no enrage timer or time limits (unless you are aiming for the timed achievement).
  23. 5 people is technically a party not a squad. It is a fact that projectile hate is high in group settings (i.e. 11-20 or above with scrappers and firebrands) and low utility on sword mainhand, which is why rangers and rifle warriors are out of favor despite soulbeast being a common roamer (due to rapidfire dismounts). Also it seems you just want an echo chamber (despite many posts to the contrary) and are unwilling to accept that one skill's range doesn't make a class. If ONE minor skill change breaks your entire gameplay then there's clearly something wrong with your party composition. Trolling = using an emergency waypoint when inner walls are down and they're camping the WP, defending a camp vs roamers or camping it, hitting people that are off tag or on the way to tag/objectives, etc. Also Irenio is the main man for balance as he's System Teams Lead, you're pinging the person mainly responsible for competitive game modes. You should follow your own advice since I've been playing engineer since launch. Your response thus far to peoples' rebuttals is "no you're wrong and don't know engineer". P.S. Outside of the game REAL engineers need to rationalize and check their work and not just shoot down any differing opinion with "you're wrong".
  24. It is probably the wiki being incorrect after a user edit. When I had all unlocked the one I opened still showed banners.
  25. 3600 CL16 16-16-16-36 (Samsung B-die) has been the recommendation by AMD unless your CPU can do 1900 FCLK or 3600C14 then you can buy GSkill's expensive 3800 MHz CL14 kits unless you plan to manually overclock Micron E-die or something like that. There's also 3600C14 14-15-15-35 but you likely need to fiddle with GearDownMode due to the uneven timings. https://www.gskill.com/community/1502239313/1564640918/G.SKILL-Releases-Optimized-DDR4-3800-CL14-Memory-Kit-for-AMD-Ryzen-3000-&-X570-Platform You're probably better off with core affinity to avoid jumping CCX unless you run d9vk to make use of even more threads.
