  1. It is no boons on your target, a very reasonable expectation in most of PvE especially as a spellbreaker or when partied with any power mesmer or condi scourge. It is far weaker in WvW for obvious reasons. As far as the main topic, spellbreaker used to be okay, now it is top tier DPS. Attacker's Insight triggers from CC not just boon rip; in fractals running spellbreaker is actually not that bad. Even in 10 man content, the hammer version of spellbreaker maintains around 4 stacks of Attacker's Insight ; the greatsword version is around 2-3 stacks.
  2. I think a cooldown reduction (say 4-6s) on Soldier's Comfort would be better balanced than Mending Might providing healing to other players. The reason is Soldier's Comfort is a trait choice. Decapitate not doing massive damage to other targets other than the main target is fine in PVE if the damage is slightly improved. If you mean in WVW/PVP it presents a large dilemma for Arenanet in that the balance needs to be completely reevaluated. Wild Blow does hard CC which is probably the reason for the lower damage. Head Butt should get self-stun removed. I'd be cautious about changing Fatal Frenzy / Bloody Roar. As far as heal bladesworn memes, I think the best option is for Immortal Dragon to apply prot in PVE to others along with part of the heal.
  3. Running theory is people getting out of combat stops you from getting credit for the kill. There is also the issue of not doing enough damage, which makes playing a support penalizing. Another possible problem is any deaths occurring outside of an arbitrary area for the defense event, so the most successful defenses would be on lord room or inner (keep/SMC).
  4. Read my post again. 1. SMC supplies are indeed wasted if they are used on outer. Suggesting otherwise is completely dishonest. 2. The problem is not solved because people getting out of combat means you do not get credit for the kill ; likewise destroying siege does not count. Suggesting healers do not get credit is incorrect unless you play heal scrapper and only camp med kit. 3. The finnicky credit for kills has been a problem I highlighted on this forum since when rewards first dropped in a patch. (I had used cannon twice on a blob for up to 100 tagged players and this invading blob wiped in outer keep.) This has been even highlighted above by other players.
  5. If they reward failed assaults it better be counting only lord room on towers or at the very least inner keep/SMC. Otherwise you end up with the inverse of the SMC repair problem where someone will afk treb SMC.
  6. Repairs should not have counted for outer SMC anyway. A better fix for the supply waste would be to only count supply not taken from the structure, only from camps. It was a problem of overeager repair people on towers when people are trying to fight inside ; keeps had less of this problem. Killing enemies does count for defense; the other issue is killing people with siege or destroying siege does not seem to always work. On top of that if the enemy gets out of combat instead of dying you do not get credit.
  7. This patch was poorly thought out. Instead of nerfing repairs across the board it should have been a change to Stonemist repairs only or inner repairs counting only since destroying siege with a cannon/mortar/oil still does not seem to count. Defense events are notably finicky, so SMC defense should have been the only change while working on the objective scaling. If a player manages to get out of combat before dying you get zero credit.

  9. Haha you mentioned me! Of course I was a strong proponent for Bladesworn charges on Dragon Trigger making sense since its inception. Instead of fixing the issue Arenanet decided to slap some might on Unyieldiing Dragon DT which means the other two variants are severely left behind. I have always been a fan of spellbreaker, the fact that hammer is usable again is a plus.
  10. Repairing itself is not a problem. The seemingly random attribution of defense when you only kill players is. Killing siege such as rams or golems and getting WxP from it also not counted. If Arenanet removed outer SMC repair defense credit (and keep only whatever minimal participation) it would largely solve most of the issues since it is the only place actively contested by trebs quite often. (Context: over 12k pips since the rewards patch.)

  14. Druids are not really great in fractals because the boon application is from spirits which are destructible and your boon application is hampered by spirit skill cooldowns while in motion. This is a similar setback as specter except specter provides barrier which is stronger than healing in fractals due to how agony works. Top it off with peak DPS in DPS setups along the lines of 13K and it makes it far worse than even cele firebrand, renegade, tempest, or mech... Druid is generally far better in raids and strikes in comparison, it only was overtaken by mechanist.
  15. Run staff or scepter condi weaver if it is PvE. For PvP scepter catalyst is dominant for WvW you typically would run staff instead. Tempest is okay if you can deal with getting in just above melee range for overload, regardless of game mode.
  16. SMC defense still gives too much if you are on a dominant server, the repair should really only be credited for inner gate. Outer repair should not be giving any participation at all IMO especially when a failed defense still provides tickets and shards. Note the tier that rewards a grandmaster mark shard always rewards a ticket.

My point was making a fuss about what it is called after the rationale Arenanet gave in the past about why they could not bring Cantha back (i.e. mixing Asian cultures offending people , see the thread I linked) is a good way to bring unwanted bad publicity. If you are not Asian you might not know about underlying Japanese-Korean and Sino-Japanese tension especially among older generations (pre WWII). In fact two major public holidays relate to this: the March 1st Independence Movement Day 삼일절 (Samil-jeol) and August 15 National Liberation Day Gwangbokjeol (광복절). At the end of the day NCSoft is still a South Korean company and one that also happens to be publicly traded.   20. I am pretty sure it is by design as the WXP comes from bonus chests. Their implementation reduces the disparity between booster users and non-booster users.
  21. The writers are probably not Asian and/or well versed in Asian cuisine. Besides, this is such a minor thing in the grand scheme of things. NCSoft (the parent company) would not be pleased though. Remember the whole reason Cantha was stated to not be released is because meshing different Asian cultures together was bound to offend someone somewhere.   22. From pretty extensive testing (9k+ pips since the initial patch drop) , capturing is far less lenient than defending. For captures you likely need about 10 kills of players and guards for gold tier, if you do not stand in the ring (dumb idea by Arenanet) you lose out on capping tier. Meanwhile if you only stand in the ring you get bronze. Before the patch on Feb 28 I definitely had gold tier cap before. I recorded the following in detail: 1 keep cap with gold participation gives 1 grandmaster mark shard. T0 keep cap with gold participation gives 1 shard (EBG) T0 SMC silver cap has 1 shard --- post Feb 28 patch T3 Keep cap has 1 shard for bronze tier participation ---- post Feb 28 patch A grandmaster shard drop means you get heavy supply bags, bag(s) of gear, and a skirmish ticket Edit: To be clear, it would be nice to have official correspondence on what counts. On the other hand at worst you lose a grandmaster mark shard and possibly a skirmish ticket.
  23. Had 5/6 before patch and capped at least 3 keeps after patch, it is definitely bugged. I submitted an ingame bug report already. I think the reason is it was lowered from 6 to 3 keeps.
  24. IMHO SMC outer wall should not give participation for defense event even if T3. Then it would be more balanced distribution of shards and tickets since a very dominant server gets free SMC contesting from trebs. T2 SMC Gold defense was noted by others as 1 shard 1 ticket prior to the Feb 28 rework changes so there is no change there really. I feel as though it was mainly a change to T0 defense (no shards anymore inline with keeps or towers) and T3 defense (1 instead of 2). EBG keeps and borderland keeps have similar reward and the same goes for towers. The main issue is SMC, which would be fine if it mainly rewarded on caps and defending at lord room. Seems T3s have a higher reward even if silver event tier, at least that was my conclusion from last week. Bronze event tier should be avoided if possible no matter what level the objective is. Kill credit seems to be 10 for silver or gold I think ; capping seems to be bronze just for ring and guards count oddly enough. T3 keep silver defense does not give shards but does give tickets (verified twice). This seems to be possibly be another change. I have never seen an instance a shard was awarded and a ticket was not since the original patch and I have no reason to believe this has changed at all. For the most part people that were playing WvW for the sake of WvW are largely unaffected. I do not really pay attention to WXP (I am used to getting <20 WXP for kills), but anything that gives skirmish tickets usually has between 1K to 2.5K WXP. It is still a massive step up from before. The bonus chest WXP is unaffected by boosters so it is essentially has been a booster nerf. Examples of bonus chests I have seen: Thimble of WXP (2500WXP) , 2 bag of gear, 3 heavy supply bags, grandmaster mark shard, 1 ticket Thimble of WXP (2500WXP) , 2 bag of gear, 2 heavy supply bags, grandmaster mark shard, 1 ticket 4 Drops of WXP (1000WXP total) , bag of gear, 2 heavy supply bag, 1 ticket Across the board, bag of gear and heavy supply bags are everywhere so a shard usually demarks a higher tier.
