  1. Nothing different from requireing gift of battle from wvw for pve legendaries. Or pvpers needing world completion for gifts of exploration. So no, the argument does not work. I do not like wvw, but if wanting legendaries i had to do it. Infact this is far less of a time requirement compared to either above.
  2. Even SC recognizes the poor performance of Harbingers. From its build page: Condition Harbinger is a strong Condition Damage DPS class with a relatively simple rotation. Despite the high benchmark of Condition Harbinger it underperforms in high pressure fights due to the Blight mechanic reducing your health, in these scenarios you would want to play Condition Scourge due to its tankier nature. Condition Harbinger lacks the ability to swap any of the utility skills it has since they are all important for the build to function.

  5. I am not hardcore, nor am I in a hardcore guild. Ive done DE a lot now in pugs, once getting into decent seeming groups with people capable of paying attention. And having contribution from the start with a map on all high.
  6. Look into it, I asure you that crafting berserker and swapping it to viper is a lot cheaper. Nor does it require you do to the hot metas for fulgurite crafting till you are blue in the head.
  7. The Harbinger has no whatsoever defensive options in its new kit.
  8. Reaper recently took a bad pve hit with shroud damage reduction getting reduced to 35%
  9. Anet already made a concession to the average player in making it easier to get the turtle. Outside of maybe adding about 5 minutes to the time, nothing more needs to happen to DE.

  12. The best to hope for might be damage moved to the mechanist if the mech is nerfed. Making it less painful when its gone.
  13. Skiff supercharger is a complete waste of a chip slot, so little application in the game. On the other hand the mount energy recharge increase chip works with skiff as well.
  14. Regarding condi mechanist. There is two variants. Jade Dynamo which is the hard rotation, vs the J-drive one which is signicantly easier and far more forgiving. Which is about 1k less dps than the hard one. https://snowcrows.com/builds/engineer/mechanist/condition-mechanist

  16. Simple really, get in with a group running DE regularilly and learning the means really. You have 5 guilds you can join at once. That is encouraging of community instead of just an online singleplayer game.

  18. There is absolutely nothing elitist in requiring more than a token effort from people. Elsewise they will never learn if all they know is easy mode. My personal pet peeve is simple: Pay attention to chat. So many does not do it.
  19. Dragons End is fine as it is, people is getting better at it once there is competent commanders to lead things. Imho, I think openworld pve in the game have been too easy for too many years and conditioning people to play rather badly and still succeeding.

  21. Yes, the shrouds is not good for visibilty of important mechanics.
