  1. People should know by now : Anet balance philosophy isn't to "balance" the game so that gameplay is healthy, no. Anet balance philosophy is to throw a random curveball every 3 months to keep things interesting. People are evidently getting sick of their random balance whims, which is why yu see many people taking a break from Gw2.
  2. Lynx is better if yu have no need for Condi Duration, and imo, it is better. Condi gets cleansed very fast in sPvP, so I rather get more direct damage/Condi per second than to try and extend the duration. Honestly, this is what setup time is for before every match : yu can easily take a look at the scoreboard and see what sort of classes yu are facing, and tailor the build a little to see if yu can't squeeze out abit more damage vs their comp.
  3. I just want more customizable stuff, and less 2 handed. Revenant has too many 2handed weapons already. I want Mainhand Axe and Main and offhand Daggers
  4. After reading the various feedbacks, I honestly think it would be absolutely fantastic if we had Focus as a dummy weapon, and that the Skill 4 and 5 can be customizable with additional Utilities. Thief Utilities are mostly really utility in nature. It really couldn't hurt to have an additional 2 Utilities at the cost of sacrificing a stronger Dual Wield skill and 2 weapon skills. And maybe we could see stuff like Scorpion Wire used this way.
  5. I would not say Repeater is a less interesting version of Unload, considering it is Condition based and that Pistol/Dagger 3 Flip skill uses it as well. That just left me thinking, what if people wanted to use Pistol for a purely condition based build, similar to how Engineer uses Pistol for Conditions. Seeing as Thief is the only profession which has no weapon skill cooldowns, it is the perfect profession to experiment this sort of unique limited skill pool playstyle. Or we can just hope that Anet decides to add an Elite in the future which utilizes Mainhand only playstyles with a full skill set.
  6. The best place to put a special "Mainhand Trait" could possibly be in Trickery tree. Imo Pressure Striking isn't used much at all, even by Condi builds, which favor either Bountiful Theft in Pvp, or Trickster in Pve.It could be replaced with a "Mainhand Trait" instead. Proposal :One Armed BanditIncrease Damage and Condition Damage dealt by 10% when only Mainhand weapon is equipped.Additionally: Twisting Fang turns into Death's Pirouette (No movement lock, Whirl Finisher, Inflicts 4 hits, Bleeds, Reflects Projectiles)Stab turns into Puncture (Inflicts Vulnerability, Increased damage based on Vulnerability)Repeater turns into Fan the Hammer (Fires 25% faster, 6 hits, Inflicts Bleeding, Dazes on final shot)
  7. Exactly what I mean by QoL and Buffs. Maybe have a stronger trait while holding a Mainhand only would suffice.
  8. There was that stupid Trapper Druid Condi build back then which was toxic as heck.
  9. Just a random suggestion, feel free to leave feedback. Revenants start at 100 Energy. Legend Swap restores 100 Energy and removes Upkeep. Skill Energy cost removed. Each skill cast will +1 ~ +3 Upkeep. Healing skill adds no Upkeep. Can keep casting weapon skills or utility skills as long as they are off cooldown, but will keep stacking Upkeep which will drain Energy over time. Previous Upkeep skills will be changed to consume 1 Energy per second up to 3 Energy per second based on how long it has been active. So basically the Revenant can keep using skills as cooldowns allow, but instead of totally deleting yur Energy, it will stack up the drain per second to the point yur Energy Bar just flatlines and require a Legend Swap to refresh. If th Energy bar flatlines, all Upkeep is removed and start to regenerate Energy rapidly. Can be traited to regenerate faster if the Energy is drained in this manner.
  10. As such, Stab, Repeater and Twisting Fangs could use some QoL and buffs.
  11. Bear Stance vs heavy condi. Troll Unguent vs anything else. Point is not to get chunked as a ranger, or if yu do get chunked, use anything in yur arsenal to back out and recover. Ranger also has alot of ranged pressure to kite people and have their ridiculous GS3 Evade Swoop and 1200 range pet Yeet to disengage in a pinch.
  12. Yup. 100% agree. Sword being a condi/power hybrid weapon is fine with me.Sword 2 being a weird leap which sometimes has unexpected yeet ranges, fine with me.Sword 3 being a clunky, slow, stab is fine with me.Sword 4 being a weird little stab and yank, fine with me.Sword 5 being a nice little parry, fine with me. But that Burst skill.Ooooooo that Burst skill totally invalidates using Sword in anyway, because it feels soooo bad to use. I mean if it were anything like Blurred Frenzy or Pistolwhip it would have been fine. But it's a burst skill, which costs adrenaline and doesn't even do respectable amount of damage in anyway. They should make it into a flurry of jabs with a short leap distance. Something like, 400 Range would be kinda decent, with 6~11 hits based on Adrenaline, and each inflicting a Bleed.
  13. Decimate Defenses essentially mean 50% crit boost at all times in group content cos yu can count on 25 Vulnerability always being applied on the boss. But this means if yu overcap crit using Precision, yu will have wasted stats always unless building less Precision which will in turn make yur personal DPS without a group suffer. Chilling Victory isn't great either because yu pretty much can already stack 25 Might with Spite traits. All yur left with is Souleater, which is very good despite the removal of healing in shroud.
  14. Power vs Warrior is pretty difficult. They have Balanced Stance to cancel out crits, both as an active and as a free passive. They also have Endure Pain to clutch if they eat a rather painful burst. But if yu actually line yur skills properly, yu can bait out and remove stability, then proceed to burst them after a well placed Diversion. Make sure to watch for their Stability and yoink it off with GS3. Use Sw2 to stave off their full engage, which is painfully obvious, because both Bulls Charge and Rush have very obvious animations and predictable movements (both being targetable gap closers) GS is yur offense set, never be caught in this set without having Blink up. Sw/T is yur defense set, it is good to have an 10 second CD evade from Sw2 so if yu feel unsafe, prepare to hit Sw2 or hit Torch 4 invis.
  15. Must be one of those Holos that use Throw Mine.
  16. Please specify content. If it is open world then just by camping Staff and Jalis is enough to get by. Yu can learn more intricate details and practice later through guides, videos and such. Pvp and Wvw will be very tricky because Revenant being a very opportunistic class which sometimes rely on blowing a chunk of Energy to create an opportunity means yu have to be extremely patient, read opponents well and plan yur moves due to Energy limitations as well as cooldowns.
  17. Yea DE Mark has a trait which gives Quickness and gives bonus 200 Power and Precision while under Quickness. Binding Shadow is a near undetectable Immob which also knocks down a Marked target. Everything fits perfectly with each other, that's why S/P is a good weapon set to have on DE for 1v1 duels instead camping Rifle.
  18. I play Deadeye, I use S/P. Binding Shadows > Mark > Sw2 > Pistol Whip is pretty cancerous and unavoidable combo especially for people who tend to panic when they hear the DJ lockon sound and blow all their dodges.
  19. I tried both. If yu are highly confident at playing S/D, DA will always be better. SA might be good for beginner S/D players because yu can get some minor heal off Shadow Savior, 2 Ohno buttons with Hidden Thief and Heal skill, as well as ini and health regeneration in Stealth, which when using Hidden Thief and Heal skill, will be around 6 seconds of Stealth. Or yu can be a memer and run both SA and DA and throw away Trickery.
  20. Thieves guild is essentially just putting more bodies on the field at expense of 120s CD. This is a very awful elite because yu could easily get 1 and a half dagger storms out, 3 Basalisk Venoms, or even 3 Shadow Melds. Only thing it will compete with is Impact Strike which is hot garbage in practice. I say we just change Thieves guild into a Preparation, and when activated springs 1 Thief on each target caught in the AoE which will only attack their target with a single skill.
  21. Or Duo pet as core, so they remove the pet for Elites instead of nerfing something hard.
  22. Technically Engi rifle works more like a shotgun. I want Engi rifle to be an actual shotgun and do 5k damage per shot at point blank kappa. And their version of Rapid Fire is Blunderbuss that can do 10k+ at point blank. Let me walk up in stealth, and then surprise jump with Rifle 5 and 3. Boom boom boom.
  23. People who argue in the favor of backwards balancing (bringing down Elite Specs to the level of core through tradeoffs) don't know what they're saying. They should be focusing on pulling Core up to Elite standards. This isn't even an argument, it should have been this way from the start. No one should be forced to play Core class because Elite got dumpstered, people should CHOOSE to play core class because Elite specs in a different direction. They can simply do this by adding something good for each Core class that Elites are replacing with their own version as with Ancient Echo on Rev. They can make Core Engi have a special little something which is replaced by Gyro or Photon Forge. And this should not be the toolbelt elite. The whole Toolbelt Elite feels more like direct slap to Scrapper on the same lines of cutting Steal range in half for some lazy unblockable.
