I actually play Core rev in WvW roaming, and it's really good. 25 energy aside to fuel upkeeps or a burst of energy to complete a combo, Jalis Echo gives a 3 sec Rite which is huge for surviving a heavy burst of damage and Shiro Echo gives Unblockable stacks which yu can stack up with Malicious Reprisal and PT to make Shackling Wave fully unblockable ( which is hilarious vs Warriors when they realize they sat still with shield up to allow the full burst) Also my kill combo is a very nasty CC chain which starts with Jalis Taunt directly into Death Strike > Legend Swap > Jade Winds for more Vuln stacks > Echo and Shackling Wave during aftercast. Because Core Rev lacks the Might stacks to blow someone up, stacking CC and Vuln this way allows yu to blow up a healthy target with little retaliation.
  2. I'm willing to bet yur still gonna be able to 1 shot people with Winter's Bite and Worldly Impact, which Soulbeast has been known to one shot with. Sicem was doing overkill damage with most of these skills anyway, and yur probably only gonna use LB to quick stack 25 Vuln so that yur actual 1 shots go through.

  4. Critical Trick DD. Yur gonna be playing mainly like a Pistol Whipper and point blanking fools then retreating. Yur best friend is gonna be Bounding Leap and Pistol 5 for some clutch invis. Combo would be Basilisk Venom > Bounding-Swipe some fool who doesn't have auto invuls > Unload on them
  5. Houndini Elite Spec. Makes everything disappear, from friends to foes to my fuccin Dps.
  6. Imo, make Axe 4 a Leap Finisher. We have too many teleports in flavour but putting a leap finisher there could be all we need.
  7. Engi Turrets need a look at. Necro dagger deserves some attention but not ultra important. Ranger Torch is a joke.
  8. Honestly all I want is dual swords on Thieves so I can stop looking at Revenant to fulfil my Double Sword Power Assassin fantasy. Warrior Double Sword is more of a hybrid or Condi fighter, and Mesmer Double Sword is more like a duelist than an Assassin.
  9. Imo it might be offhand sword with more debilitating conditions. Thief might be going in the hybrid direction as with the upcoming changes, and I'm looking forward to playing a more traditional rouge style Thief which deals mainly with stealth, hit and run, and poisons.
  10. Core specs will never look interesting if they keep nerfing them. There I said it. Mallyx doesn't even feel even remotely like a Condition manipulator anymore, rather just some bitch which pulls Condis in and then sits on them and smile while slowly dying when Resistance runs out. Ventari is just a boring AoE healer. Jalis doesn't tank anything, doesn't shield anything, he just persists as a rock, and a very immobile rock. Shiro has been gutted over the years, and despite that, remain popular because he is the only Legend which actually feels like he has a role and place in the game (as an assassin) Glint and Kalla are just "unique" as Elite specs tend to be, having more depth but as a result, end up defining Revenant instead of being a special specialization. Revenant is just a full blown mess.

There was absolutely no reason at all to remove Shiro's Superspeed.There is also no reason to add 10sec cooldown on EtDNor was there reason to slap a hefty 35 energy cost on the new "Call to Anguish" And as I have mentioned before, if Anet seems intent to just gut core legends to the ground, they might as well remove the whole Energy feature, because it exists to limit the somewhat short CD utilities which are slightly more powerful. If they keep gutting Core Legends, or gutting Legends in general, Revs are gonna end up with 10 lackluster utilities with cooldowns that cost an absolute bomb to cast and takes from the same Energy pool which fuels our weapon skills. Resource management my bumbum, this is just forcing the player to play this class on hard mode without actually adding any mechanical difficulty.

Even with new Deadly Arts traits Condi DE will be a new experience.Might be more consistent with Vipers, and will end up with DA - SA - DE I'm still skeptical about Shadow Arts granting Venom on stealth.It might be absurdly good and give yu 1 stack every second in Stealth, or it might be utter trash and have a skill ICD but give yu 6 stacks. When it comes out, I shall see if it is the former or the latter. If it is former, hooray, definately gonna try my hand at Condi DE.If it is latter, might just try Grieving with SA-Trick-DE
  13. Also, Condi Deadeye back on the menu. Rifle 2 has alot of Immobilize for Poison, and equipping the new traits will give flat Condi Damage and lots of free Stealth from dodging.
  14. All I see this as is to focus D/D purely into power. They are gonna make Sword the Queen of Thief weapons now, because with the new poison trait, yu can effectively play the S/D thief as a Condi, poking in and out and applying the Poison every 5 seconds. Sword/Dagger with the next patch : Power poking build, Condi poking build, and with some Stealth thrown in, they can have even better Condi poke by Stealthing for Venom and then popping out to apply them.
  15. Honestly I still think Shield 5 can work well as a Root, but not as a block. It should be a 30 Energy cost, 15 second cooldown Invul with heal.
  16. There is no benefit whatsoever to Ferocious Strikes. % damage increase is pretty damned strong, and the only Power Damage weapons for Rev are Swords anyway. It's not even a competition between the two traits, the % damage is gonna win everytime vs dual wielding for extra Ferocity. Similarly, Assassin's Presence cannot compete with Notoriety's bonus Power per Might stack, unless yu are playing a support role. The way I see it, Anet might just end up with +Power, + Power with Dualwield for Ferocious Strikes anyway, then it will automatically be BiS for Power Sword Rev.
  17. What rdigeri said. ^ Instead, Anet seems totally fine with gutting Core Legends instead, and the rate we are going, Impossible Odds might just end up as a stupid -6 Upkeep cost extra strike. People have been begging Anet to please please look at weapons, balance them before touching legends, but they keep flipping nerfing our Legends. Okay, sure we have access to 10 Utilities, but when yu slap heavy Energy costs to them, the same Energy which powers weapon attacks, then proceed to slap cooldowns ontop of that, AND nerf these utilities down, we are gonna end up with a Revenant with 10 "okay utilities" but with ridiculous Energy costs, causing the entire class to break down and die.

  19. Anet didn't exactly say it will be a fair tradeoff :^) Yu guys got fucking gutted.

Hopefully the actual release version has everything we want : Leap Finisher Pulsing Torment and Chill like Unending AnguishCall to Anguish AoE CC to make people sit in the field.I'm kidding, no way Anet will give this to us. They are 1000% gonna give us the stupidest leap ever, which does 1 baby Torment and Chill application, and make it 40 energy instead :^)
  21. People gonna play Power Mallyx now that EtD has a Power strike per pulse. Now we have to see if the Strike scales well.

  24. Gonna go ahead and say I have never seen anyone use Ranger Torch ever. Don't come up to me as a special snowflake and go "But I use Ranger Torch :c" I legit have never seen anyone seriously use Ranger Torch and explain to me why and how they use it.
