  1. The only point of Staff is the Block cancelling into Evade and Condi Cleanse these days. If there were a better condi cleansing option, staff would be yeeted out the window with disgust. Revenants are just so starved to Condi Cleanse that they need to lean on Staff ever so often it's honestly a little sad to think about.
  2. They just dogpile and let the hivemind take over. Not sure if new or just a zealot but alot of MAG players who go down in a skirmish don't even care about using their skill 2 or 3. It's mashing 1 and doing as much damage as possible before dying.
  3. Hate is a strong work. I prefer the term "Ranger dislike"
  4. I heard people talking about how Mesmer Rifle should shoot clones that superman fly into people for damage and I want that over this stupid portal gun.
  5. Lol wack. Can this just be given to Chaos Storm? Should be a trait ngl. Wack. Kinda like it though. Like inverse Plague, and makes one dude just die from kitten. Surely useable in WvW when someone pours Boiling Oil.
  6. Would like another Revenant staff topic because I feel that despite the new toys every Spec is allowed access to now with SOTO, staff still feels like it could use some love, especially with a new support weapon soon joining our lineup along with an improved Shield (trust me I'm stifling a chuckle mentioning shield) Which direction would you encourage staff to improve? Defensive, supportive and utility focused? Combat focused but more on the defensive side? And as an addon for Combat focus: Power or Condition? To kick it off, I think it'd be nice to have some clunk for Staff ironed out first: Staff 2 Mender's Rebuke still has a very inconsistent hit registration when casting it while moving. Staff 5 SotM is honestly the most clunkiest of clunk and the pause they introduced should be removed in all honesty. I would like to see Staff be brought more toward a Defensive Utility weapon with an improved version of its current kit. I feel like the one thing it should focus on is the application of Weakness via skills 2 and skill 5, and having skill 2 be made an AoE cleave skill instead of the current "I pound infront of me small AoE". Weakness can also be introduced into its AA Chain into chain 2. Skill 4 could be made to heal more for each Condition removed.
  7. I've fought plenty of unnerfed WvW Deadeyes back from before the balance nerfs and before Binding Shadow was nerfed. I know my kitten when fighting one, especially because I play Revenant and Reaper, Thief's two favourite prey. They've had their teeth pulled out so hard they hardly even stand in the shadow of the Deadeyes of old. The only DEs I see these days never roam alone, they do it as a group and the book it the moment they get focused, which is fine for their design.
  8. Definitely knowledge gap and skill issue. Trust me, keep playing the game and take note of how DEs play, and even better yet, play DE yourself. You'll realise how much of a joke DE is against any player worth their salt. They're so weak now that all they can really do is run and force you to burn all your resources to chase them. If you do that, you just got baited.
  9. I like dual swords and among all the classes that can dual swords, Revenant is probably my favourite. Warrior's is alright but it doesn't give off much of a skirmisher vibe, more like a kind of mobile and agile fighter who cuts you all over. Mesmer swords are just eh... They definitely give off the whole magic-swordsman vibe and as much as I like battlemages and magic swordsman, the gameplay flow is terrible with Mesmer swords because of how clunky 3 > 3 feels and 2 rooting you on the spot. Virtuoso improves on this significantly but offhand sword still has a really awkward hitbox for skill 5 that I dread using.
  10. I'm all for QoL which Engi and Ele did receive one being able to hold onto a 2nd weapon set and swap them out of combat to save inventory space but give them an inch and they go for a mile. Imagine being a Warrior and refusing to use Burst and demand Anet give you a third weapon swap because you refuse to use Burst.
  11. Untrue. People have been clearing Raids and Strikes, even CM Strikes with core professions. It's doable, but that's not what most people care about unless it's just for fun. The main reason people don't really wanna play Core is more or less a lack of skill expression. Elite specs offer alot more playstyle nuances like new mechanics, or altered mechanics. It changes up the identity of the class often times and that's always more fun than just using your core class capabilities. More trait options and more ways to play will always be a thing Espec dangles over Core class as a juicy carrot to entice going for an Espec build.
  12. I assume you flipped Facet Elite. Yes, Facet Elite flipping and not casting the skill counts as casting an Elite for the purpose of proccing Relics. It was also this way when Elite activation effects were part of Rune system. So in short: you cast an Elite, the Relic goes into a 30s cooldown. That's all you really need to care about.
  13. You get 5 toolbelt utilities. So idk where you are finding the unfairness from when Necros also have a tradeoff for being unable to use any utilities while in Shroud. Oooo we gonna casually leave that out right, just to fit your argument. Again back to the point: toolkits give you 5 skills, so how is that somehow discounting you of 1 utility when you get 6 skills in exchange. That's the trade off. Engineers can get more skills than any other class and you just want more. Not to mention every single one of these skills have individual cooldowns. Like others said: if you find toolkits clunky the answer is to revisit and rework toolkits so that they are no longer clunky instead of begging for an intentional balance restriction to be changed just because you don't like using toolkits. Especially if you're throwing out flexibility as an excuse. Flexibility is one thing, actually disregarding balance restrictions is another. Last thing I want is see Engi being free to slot 5 stunbreaks into their Toolbelt while they have anything they want in utilities AND also be able to swap weapons, which by this thread goes, seems to be what everyone is hinting at. Absolute insanity. Change for change sake has never been a good excuse for breaking class identity and balance. You want an example? Anet lobotomizing Especs to fill Alac/Quick roles.
  14. Dude check out their Harpoon Gun. It's actually pretty cool, especially when compared to Engi Rifle.
  15. On the topic of reused content: Why don't Anet reuse Underwater weapons for land combat :^) I know at least 3 Professions who, if given the option, would love to use Spear on land.
  16. Topic in fact doesn't say it all. 1. What reason are they easy or powerful 2. What mode 3. What spec 4. What part of the spec that allows 1. to occur
  17. Yes, thank you. And while we're at it, Turrets as well. Or just consolidate all Turrets into a Turret kit as an Elite and have Supply Crate be its Toolbelt. Kits have been rather clunk for a long time and I honestly like some of the kits better if they were more consistent with an actual weapon set. The kits I think need some looking at are Mortar and Grenade. The 1 skill being an area target you gotta spam is honestly some levels of hilariously clunky nonsense in modern GW2. People may say Bomb kit as well but I honestly love how you just spam that 1 like you're taking a dump and it explodes after a half second.
  18. Why do you think Toolbelt exists? Toolbelt exists not for you to have 10 utilities as Engineer, but because you have Kits taking up a utility slot, hence a Toolbelt to supplement the lack of flexible on-demand utility. Oh man a sigil is so much more powerful than 5 additional skills. Sounds like Kits need to be reworked, not Engineer literally stop being Engineer because the mechanic you're designed to play with doesn't suit your interest. Hope you're expecting some juicy nerfs to go along with that because it borders onto being OP if you have 15 skills at the ready and the ability to swap 5 out. I find it utterly hilarious that people give Revenant alot of kitten for having 10 utility skills but Engineer silently sitting here with 10 utilities (5 utility and 5 toolbelt) actually available at the same time and want a weapon swap so they can change weapons and enjoy 10 utilities. And all 10 utilities have individual cooldowns too! No flexibility! LOL!
  19. No. Use Toolkits which is literally the entire point of Engineer being its own Profession or suck it up. This is like an Ele going "I'm a fire main, now let me weapon swap because I imposed this restriction on myself". Nonsensical, absolutely nonsensical. Wait behind Revenant. Been asking for customizable utility sets for years. Yea no, for very obvious reasons too. Your toobelt utility is there to supplement your utilities as a class mechanic, also directly relating to toolkits themselves. Don't get it twisted thinking it's just a 2nd utility set for you to customized.
  20. Changes I'll make to Renegade: Citadel Bombardment: No longer a projectile, bombards an area over time instead. Same cast time but instead of a barrage of missiles, it's a slower bombing over a longer time. Why? It lets the ability actually go on cooldown and Energy to regenerate while making sure someone can't just press dodge and invalidate 80% of the skill. It's stupid the way the skill is designed as a projectile too. I rather have a more balanced ability than a "busted" one which is only op against an afk enemy. With this change, it becomes a very good area denial AoE which makes teamfighting or dueling much stronger because Renegades want to control space anyway. Give it a combo field too. Righteous Rebel: Change Condi damage reduction per stack of Kalla's Fervor to removing conditions equal to Kalla's Fervor when you cast Orders from Above. AND NO IT'S NOT OP, it's 20s cooldown. I think it's better to have Condi cleanse than a stupid condi reduction anyway. Heartpiercer: Critical damage you inflict on Bleeding targets is increased. Bold Reversal: When you use a Citadel Order skill, gain Resistance.
  21. Would be a vast improvement because Rush at least hits stationary targets.
  22. They should make Shield Bash like Bullscharge where it goes for abit longer and has an evade.
  23. Samurai is Bladesworn. Their entire Flow mechanic is all about focusing for a huge Iaido slash. Really Samurai-like. Thief has been pretty ninja-esque for the majority of their playstyle. Idk why we need something just called Ninja when it'll just be Thief again or demanding mechanics from Thief while using the same weapons and same playstyle.
  24. Don't forget the inbuilt quickness. Just kinda felt fun if it would be a Melee focused weapon with supporting ranged abilities rather than a 2 and 3 bot with the melee mainly useless aside from PvE. Even the meta Reaper builds recently use 2's wonky application to cheat more damage into their rotation, not necessarily using the Dagger as a Dagger.
