  1. You get 5 toolbelt utilities. So idk where you are finding the unfairness from when Necros also have a tradeoff for being unable to use any utilities while in Shroud. Oooo we gonna casually leave that out right, just to fit your argument. Again back to the point: toolkits give you 5 skills, so how is that somehow discounting you of 1 utility when you get 6 skills in exchange. That's the trade off. Engineers can get more skills than any other class and you just want more. Not to mention every single one of these skills have individual cooldowns. Like others said: if you find toolkits clunky the answer is to revisit and rework toolkits so that they are no longer clunky instead of begging for an intentional balance restriction to be changed just because you don't like using toolkits. Especially if you're throwing out flexibility as an excuse. Flexibility is one thing, actually disregarding balance restrictions is another. Last thing I want is see Engi being free to slot 5 stunbreaks into their Toolbelt while they have anything they want in utilities AND also be able to swap weapons, which by this thread goes, seems to be what everyone is hinting at. Absolute insanity. Change for change sake has never been a good excuse for breaking class identity and balance. You want an example? Anet lobotomizing Especs to fill Alac/Quick roles.
  2. Dude check out their Harpoon Gun. It's actually pretty cool, especially when compared to Engi Rifle.
  3. On the topic of reused content: Why don't Anet reuse Underwater weapons for land combat :^) I know at least 3 Professions who, if given the option, would love to use Spear on land.
  4. Topic in fact doesn't say it all. 1. What reason are they easy or powerful 2. What mode 3. What spec 4. What part of the spec that allows 1. to occur
  5. Yes, thank you. And while we're at it, Turrets as well. Or just consolidate all Turrets into a Turret kit as an Elite and have Supply Crate be its Toolbelt. Kits have been rather clunk for a long time and I honestly like some of the kits better if they were more consistent with an actual weapon set. The kits I think need some looking at are Mortar and Grenade. The 1 skill being an area target you gotta spam is honestly some levels of hilariously clunky nonsense in modern GW2. People may say Bomb kit as well but I honestly love how you just spam that 1 like you're taking a dump and it explodes after a half second.
  6. Why do you think Toolbelt exists? Toolbelt exists not for you to have 10 utilities as Engineer, but because you have Kits taking up a utility slot, hence a Toolbelt to supplement the lack of flexible on-demand utility. Oh man a sigil is so much more powerful than 5 additional skills. Sounds like Kits need to be reworked, not Engineer literally stop being Engineer because the mechanic you're designed to play with doesn't suit your interest. Hope you're expecting some juicy nerfs to go along with that because it borders onto being OP if you have 15 skills at the ready and the ability to swap 5 out. I find it utterly hilarious that people give Revenant alot of kitten for having 10 utility skills but Engineer silently sitting here with 10 utilities (5 utility and 5 toolbelt) actually available at the same time and want a weapon swap so they can change weapons and enjoy 10 utilities. And all 10 utilities have individual cooldowns too! No flexibility! LOL!
  7. No. Use Toolkits which is literally the entire point of Engineer being its own Profession or suck it up. This is like an Ele going "I'm a fire main, now let me weapon swap because I imposed this restriction on myself". Nonsensical, absolutely nonsensical. Wait behind Revenant. Been asking for customizable utility sets for years. Yea no, for very obvious reasons too. Your toobelt utility is there to supplement your utilities as a class mechanic, also directly relating to toolkits themselves. Don't get it twisted thinking it's just a 2nd utility set for you to customized.
  8. Changes I'll make to Renegade: Citadel Bombardment: No longer a projectile, bombards an area over time instead. Same cast time but instead of a barrage of missiles, it's a slower bombing over a longer time. Why? It lets the ability actually go on cooldown and Energy to regenerate while making sure someone can't just press dodge and invalidate 80% of the skill. It's stupid the way the skill is designed as a projectile too. I rather have a more balanced ability than a "busted" one which is only op against an afk enemy. With this change, it becomes a very good area denial AoE which makes teamfighting or dueling much stronger because Renegades want to control space anyway. Give it a combo field too. Righteous Rebel: Change Condi damage reduction per stack of Kalla's Fervor to removing conditions equal to Kalla's Fervor when you cast Orders from Above. AND NO IT'S NOT OP, it's 20s cooldown. I think it's better to have Condi cleanse than a stupid condi reduction anyway. Heartpiercer: Critical damage you inflict on Bleeding targets is increased. Bold Reversal: When you use a Citadel Order skill, gain Resistance.
  9. Would be a vast improvement because Rush at least hits stationary targets.
  10. They should make Shield Bash like Bullscharge where it goes for abit longer and has an evade.
  11. Samurai is Bladesworn. Their entire Flow mechanic is all about focusing for a huge Iaido slash. Really Samurai-like. Thief has been pretty ninja-esque for the majority of their playstyle. Idk why we need something just called Ninja when it'll just be Thief again or demanding mechanics from Thief while using the same weapons and same playstyle.
  12. Don't forget the inbuilt quickness. Just kinda felt fun if it would be a Melee focused weapon with supporting ranged abilities rather than a 2 and 3 bot with the melee mainly useless aside from PvE. Even the meta Reaper builds recently use 2's wonky application to cheat more damage into their rotation, not necessarily using the Dagger as a Dagger.
  13. My opinion is that Boonball is the epitome of good commandeering. It's beautiful when you see an unbeatable machine because of well oiled performance and excellent piloting. But man it's oppressive as heck and it's just a plain easy formula. It's boring and it's just unfun to go against. Honestly wish there's a trap or trick that strips boons. Thieves then will have a solid role of sneaking to the tail of the boonball and pop a trick to strip them of boons so that a small force can zergbust. Or even better, give Warclaw a new skill that lets them engage and remove some boons to a small number of players.
  14. Versed in Stone gets used more in WvW roaming due to the isolated case by case encounters. In sPvP, I expect people are using Salvation more for Barrier and letting the team's cleanses spill over. On the flip side, Salvation also helps cleanse for your team too and grant them DR. All round much better than Retribution for team fights. I don't sPvP often so if I'm wrong anywhere my bad.
  15. Empty Vessel was worse imo because it was a Minor. You basically HAD to take Invocation or else you had no stunbreak, especially on Ventari. Now Invocation still hold a monopoly on Revenant builds but for Fury as well as bonus damage for having Fury. I wish they would rework Assassin's Presence already so that it had better Fury uptime. I'd take anything, even something like "Gain Fury when you use a Movement skill" And nah, Salvation is the traitline for Revenants who can handle their condis properly. The dodge roll is costly to waste on simply removing 1 Condi at a time. People who can't handle Condi on Revenant would straight up use Retribution for Versed in Stone. That one really handles any sort of condi damage, especially if against those "Burst and I'm dry" sort of Condi builds.
  16. It's not that. I'm all for every profession being allowed to fulfil BoonDPS roles. I'm just not happy that you're forced to Espec for it, and trade away old Espec's specialties in order to do so. It's ridiculous, truly ridiculous. Gutting a specialization to fulfil a generic role. You can't make this up.
  17. Dis pls. I really yearn for dagger to be a nice sustain weapon which lets me kind of roleplay a vampiric lord of the dead. My dream for dagger is: 1. Really fast Auto chain for Lifeforce generation and has small built in Life Siphon on 3rd hit. 2. Some sort of ranged attack the Bleeds and Cripples a target 3. Some sort of ranged attack that Rips Boons, and if it is cast on a Bleeding target it will Immobilize them and grant the Necro gains Quickness and Swiftness for a short duration to let them run over to the target and eat them.
  18. No thanks tbh. I hate Blind but I also hate restricting equipment to game modes. That being said, I would be a fool to wholeheartedly support anything that will buff Blind in competitive modes.
  19. I target whoever looks like they're roaming in zerging/havoc gear. Plain and simple. You wanna eliminate the glass cannons first in any 1vX because if you don't they will chip you down while the skilled roamer draws all your aggro. If I see a Warrior for example, and it's a BSW with a Rifle, I'm getting on that butt.
  20. I'd rather get a new Shield 5 entirely and Crystal Hibernation go back to being a passive trait. It felt more right being an actual hibernation skill than a skill that potentially griefs you.
  21. I think Kick being ammo is fine. I want it to be a flying kick instead and it dazes. Everybody's kungfu fighting. Flying Kick 600 Units Dazes 1.5s 2 Charges max, 25s recharge time Anet pls.
  22. In a perfect world, Alac and Quick traits are all shoved into a Core traitline for all professions, and their Especs give the class specialization as they are supposed to. I'm so sick of Especs being lobotomized to become BoonDPS platforms. Warrior is one of the few which clearly suffer from this design philosophy.
