  1. If it's not greatsword, longbow or rifle I'm going to have a fit. Stop this blasphemy about torch immediately.
  2. PoF was mounts, elite specs and an expansion storyline to play through. They just gave us legendary armoury and they're finally giving us more info on wvw alliances, which is huge to wvw players. What would you like to see in the expac that they aren't already giving to us
  3. I can completely understand your frustration but it's a little bit arrogant to just walk into a game mode you have very little experience with and start trying to command. That would be like me, a wvw main, leading a map meta train that I'm unfamiliar with. Can't just command without playing it for awhile first lol But cheers and hope you have a better wvw experience in the future
  4. I'll be making two core ele build videos soon but in the meantime here's the main one I've been using if you're interested in trying it out. Works surprisingly well. Water 131 Earth 112 Arcane 121 (or 123 - up to you but you don't rly need the dodge trait for this build) Healing signet, lightning flash, sigil of water, arcane shield, FGS (or tornado) Dagger/dagger (milage may vary if you're stubborn and use focus offhand) Sigil of cleansing, sigil of leeching Sanctuary rune (essential! For this build to use this rune otherwise it's a really stupid build) Full berserker or assassin's *don't use too much marauder or youll hit like a wet noodle* don't worry about vitality youll have a buttload of heals/barrier even with 0 healing power Basically sanctuary rune gets procd by arcane abatement, your signet's which both can be used off cd for heals/barrier with the earth trait, sigil of leeching, heal signet , water attunement and potentially the dodge trait if you take it. So it's quite a lot of barrier just by rotating normally. You'll also do quite a lot of dmg since it's full zerk, and have good mobility with dagger evades and dagger offhand ride the lightning. Lots of protection boon too on this build with the aura earth trait and air 3/water 4 Gl
  5. This would be a disaster for roaming balance. I.e someone is running around on a trailblazer core necro that is unkillable and does absurd condi damage - your only viable option is to out of combat and switch to an equally absurd build and run as many cleanses as possible with antitoxin rune. Otherwise you can't even fight them bc their build is so insanely broken. Edit: mind you I'm an ele main and this is true for most ele builds, doesn't necessarily apply to every class. I've never had any issues with ppl swapping builds before a fight because most of my builds are designed to have a decent shot at fighting a majority of the builds I could potentially come across.
  6. Careful that no one here is confusing a competent soulbeast player running a meta build with a casual player who tried it once/twice and couldn't get the hang of it because it was difficult. Yeah, some of them you can "just dodge" the burst and then go in for a CC ... but in the right hands, there is little you can do vs it when they tank like a warrior/guardian whilst running nearly full zerk. Maul, rapidfire and worldly impact should be rebalanced somehow. It's just too easy to burst people down on ranger, and everyone who plays WvW knows it. Like there isn't any question in it. If you disagree then you don't play WvW >__>
  7. Just wanted to check in and state that this isn't the fault of elementalist, it's the fault of elementalist players running HORRIBLE tank/stall-fighting builds. I don't know why so many of them choose to run extremely tanky to the point where they can almost not kill anything. Not the fault of ele, just some weird phenomenon of bad players choosing a class that doesn't suit them very well and then they have to compensate for it.
  8. Just to be clear, I'm not directing my disdain toward you personally - just the general "I'm an oppressed thief and outperforming everyone / having my class carry me is so difficult 😰" attitude. --- Lol your class _already_ has tons of damage from pressing 1 to 3 skills / facerolling the keyboard. Nearly every thief I encounter roaming is just: stealth abuse and heartseeker spam. Hits through toughness like it's nothing, but God forbid anet nerfs my teef character, it might be balanced (maybe I'd play it more often, since I wouldn't feel guilty about it anymore). Stealth and dagger/rifle mainhand make the game ez-mode, it attracts the kind of crowd you'd expect. For some reason they seem to be the most bitter of all players you'll meet in the game - almost as if subconsciously they're self-aware of the fact that _they are playing thief_. At least people are starting to wake up to it. Teef mains have been sitting on all this clout for way too long - high time for ya'll to realize it's very easy to do LOL
  9. When I can't find content, I create it 😼 See you at your spawn soon 😼😼😼😼
  10. I swear the elementalist class seems like one big contest of self-victimization, but ... that being said, yeah, a couple buffs here and there would be great. Pls and thanks anet.
  11. At 2:10 for example when I didn't seem to be paying attention to whats behind me, it's because I know I had riptide available and my reaction time would be good enough with the amount of space/distance I had visible in the camera shot (which is not to say that I don't mess up like this occasionally so you have a point😅). When I do "left hand" stuff i.e. holding left mouse button and moving with the strafe keys, this is just because it's easier on my tendons(gives me a rest)/looks intimidating haha. And no worries of course, I do a lot of mouse-swings to make melee hits more accurate maybe just not in the clips you watched. Ride the lightning - for sure, a good target-swap always feels rewarding if it adds something to the fight. Yeah haha I didn't realize until after I rendered that because I was in a lv60 pve zone it made my health seem a lot less than what this build puts it at 😅 glad you found some value in this build, I still greatly prefer it to almost anything right now because of my WvW playstyle 😄 Not as flashy bahaha, ya, but the fire detonate with flame expulsion looks really cool, you have to admit! And that's great! Hope it's going well \m/ glad I could help inspire
  12. Loving this back-and-forth you guys are doing but if you don't mind me interrupting for one moment - IMO you'll have better cleanses if you just run aura share in water + smothering auras in fire. So many auras you almost don't run out of them, plenty of cleanses for all alongside the raw healing. Haven't done any math on it but I rarely get out-cleansed in arcdps alongside other supports, so I assume it's pretty kitten good. A video I made on this build if you're interested
  13. The Elemental Surge > arcane blast = immob with earth attunement build is powerful and would work well with that roaming comp for sure. Works really well right now with scepter/focus, eagle/scholar rune, arcane 122 air 222 weaver 321 (or 323, if you dare), cleansing/X (I like impact or whatever the one is that increases precision+ferocity after CC)
  14. True, but mind you this build works very well vs roots/condi ranger because it can reflect, invuln, move away from melee easily, and condi cleanse very well. It is effectively a counter to most druids I've fought - assuming I'm paying enough attention/not currently stoned, lol The damage you get from Flame Expulsion alone more than makes up for the loss of the might stacks. When this change was first introduced, I thought it nearly leveled the trait to the very ground, but if you can hit with flame expulsion you'll do more-or-less the same dmg as the +bonus dmg from having the 25 might longer. And yeah the shield helps too for sure. With earth 2, fire/earth dual attack and dodges running invigorating strikes you have more than enough barrier. With smothering auras, sigil of cleansing + sigil of generosity, fighting hybrids and most condi builds (excepting full condi mesmer/mirage and sometimes condi teef/core necro) is relatively fair/feels right. Can be hard to fight the exceptions with this build but most of the rest seem like reasonably decent matchups at the very least, if not lending the advantage strongly to you with this build. If you don't mind, I'd really appreciate your feedback on these two things, please/thanks!; 1) I made some definite mistakes in the first clip but to be sure, what exactly are you partial for about my movement/camera ? Is it the speed/frequency of moving the camera? In a few clips I might be really stoned or drinking and it gets ridiculous a bit, but for the most part I only do this because it allows me to better angle most attacks. I try not to use the look-behind key as I find it's mostly a crutch in place of just having quick & accurate full 360' movement at any time and the 0.3 - 0.4s it takes to swivel the mouse generally doesn't get me killed, maybe once or twice before I'll admit lmao. To respond to the rest: ah, fair enough, I've just run so many ele builds and different variants of almost everything (by now/at this point) that I've concluded this build wins vs the most matchups. Mind you my main is in t1 mostly and my alt usually stuck in t3/t4, so I don't often experience the t2 golden zone anymore, perhaps its different there slightly. This build has weaknesses, but so do all of the builds you listed, and all the other builds I play as well, perceivably those builds have more IMO ; we may just agree to disagree there but I'm open to discussion about it. Ty/appreciate the feedback It kinda does, I tried out a similar build on core ele a few nights ago and it was really fun. D/D very mobile, good sustain and damage. I should revisit it. Ty for the nudge haha Yaa, for sure. About the last thing you said - the fury uptime/might uptime is quite good, you constantly cycle through both. It may not have looked like it was there because I wasn't even able to strike the warrior often because he terrified me, lmao. @Widmo.3186 ^ ? is this what you didn't like about the first clip
  15. 😿<--You make the kitty sad. You don't play much roaming Weaver if you think this 😾 There is one tempest build that can _compete_ with Weaver and still underperforms in every other regard besides the lightning overload and sometimes boons. Vallun and I did like 10 duels back & forth with his LR Tempy build and my fire-air Weave-man build and it was about even, in the end. Wasn't counting but we both won/lost 40-60%. You don't need to run arcane traitline on Weaver (most of the time I'd run water or fire in place of it) and when it is necessary for certain builds it's extremely effective 😅 I would comment on your original subject to try to make a more meaningful contribution to this thread, but I've never ran that trait. If I need to cleanse soft-CC condis I'll just find a way to gain regen/pop an aura depending on what I'm running. If you're running support tempest you already have more than enough cleanse, and if you're roaming on tempest and can't cleanse without the aid of LS then you don't have enough cleanses in the build IMO
  16. I explain the basic idea behind this build / what sets it apart from most, in the first minute and a half of the video. However I reckon many of us here haven't tried fire/air/weaver apart from raids/fractals/zerging. I almost never see anyone run these traitlines roaming (and sadly doubt I ever will again in PvP with the removal of the celestial amulet) and just wanted to pick your brains. To me, it seems like the best WvW roaming build for Weaver, even elementalist in general, right now. It allows you to be relatively tanky with a lot of evade/barrier uptime (alternatively you can run woven stride instead of invigorating strikes for massive regeneration heals instead of barrier), extremely good mobility, and can still burst people down in seconds if they aren't careful. In addition to that with earth shield you'll have access to two magnetic auras every minute, several blocks, several pulls, and 2 invulns every minute. The earth shield autoattack is quite strong as well, often hitting 2k - 2k - 4.5k chains. You can combo the fire aura detonate into fresh-air (+vulnerability) with the autoattack chain to do massive damage while tanking through earth shield. The only downside is it does require a lot of familiarity with the class/build. Not something I'd ever recommend to use for learning with. Sorry if I didn't type this too well I don't have a lot of time to check grammar/make this pretty right now. Hope this contributes something useful to the ele community, I know how stubborn eles are and most of you will probably roll your eyes but for the few who dare choose to wield this powerful build: go kick kitten 😎 \m/ edit: please don't kick any kittens that's the censor. Lmao
  17. Good for visual learners but Steki nailed it Learning snowcrows rotations in exact sequence is for when you need/want the absolute max DPS possible. Simply being familiar with your skills/build is often all it takes to be reasonably competent in most areas of the game though
  18. I don't even mind so much that it's now hyphenated. I mind that it's incorrectly hyphenated as off -line with a space. Who even does that, what, is -line a command argument for the off function? Just make it off-line or offline what kind of psychopath writes off -line. Lol
  19. Lol those were the good days, though we used to play that in the guild hall. I'm not aware of anybody still doing it but I'm sure if you look around enough you could find a guild willing to try again haha. The memes were genuinely funny but can someone explain how to faceroll mesmer pls. I don't get it. I just press 1 2 3 4 5? But this guy is god-tier good, there is no way that's all he has to do.
  20. OMG this guy is so good! Wowowowowowowowow incredible!! Look how he presses those skills. I can only hope to be this good. Can someone tell me how he does this? Amazing!!! Video
  21. Nerf thief stealth or buff eleNerf ranger 1shot or buff eleNerf endless warrior CC or buff eleNerf condi spam or let ele have easier access to cleansesNerf engi grenades or let ele do the sameNerf DH burn or give us OP fire weaver backNerf condi mirage or buff eleNerf condi rev or buff ele On second thought, maybe just buff ele(I realize this will trigger non-ele mains who do not understand how unloved ele has always been) Every class gets some cheesy mechanicEle can either be almost on-par with other builds in the hands of talent, or a useless unkillable tank. That's eles gimmick: be almost good or be almost useless. Maybe retune ele just a bit idk Edit: voted teef because screw shadow arts/stealth.
  22. I would be surprised if anyone actually tried to say engi grenades are balanced. We all know they're still OP even after the recent nerf. Two, three if you're lucky, nade hits and you're dead. Extremely spammable, low cooldown, can't be reflected, brainless gameplay. Why is this still a thing also, I do realize I'm going to get some trolls replying with the usual "just dodge, just kite and counter it, you got outplayed"Ya, you say that about everything. Sorry but some things are genuinely unbalanced lol I know what I'm doing, actually win sometimes vs this build but for the most part it's just so stupid-OP that I'd rather not engage at all. Fun and engaging gameplay.
  23. "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win"Been saying this for sooooooooooooooooooooooo longThank goodness we're all catching on
  24. I understand what you're getting at, this is a response I use often myself regarding plenty of 'balance' issues, except that ... condi is, unsurprisingly, still, overperforming for the level of skill needed to be effective with it in a competitive mode and most ele builds do not have nearly enough cleanse to deal with the condi output. As an ele main, I will always see condi through the lens of "there is one or two builds I can play that counter condi and the rest are almost helpless to it; feelsunbalancedman". It is almost unquestioned knowledge at this point from anyone who doesn't main a condi build (and even some who do). Forgot I was on gw2 forums, my mistake. Most ppl in-game agree, most people here don't. It's kinda weird. Kinda seems like one side actually plays the game and the other doesn't. Idk. Not sure why I make these threads when I know the same people will come in to say the same things like every time ?
