  1. There's a book in the Priory special collections that references your first fight ever as a Sylvari.
  2. I think the inconsistencies come from changes in shop pricing policy that do not get reflected in older items. That is to say, I don't think Anet has ever gone back to older items and actually updated their prices. Tools are a good example of this, the reason there even are tools without glyphs is because they were made before tool glyphs ever existed. After tool glyphs became a thing, the tools that were cosmetic only never changed price even though they were unarguably a lesser value than tools with glyphs. Pricing of LS2 also follows this, the absolute lowest amount of content is made available by this and yet it is the highest cost in gems. And if any skins seem like their pricing is out of the line, there's no fixing that, just lessons learned hopefully for next time.
  3. Sounds like this mastery was made for that one character sitting at the end of the Draconis Mons JP in case the user decided to do something else besides AFK there all the day with an LFG set up.
  4. Honestly, I'm going to remember Goldfish got introduced into the game by EoD.
  5. They really ought to give players options to either list their groups in multiple categories or have multiple categories open at the same time. Increase the chances that someone semi interested in doing some dungeons can actually see the listings without having to flip through all 8 categories constantly.
  6. No skill put on the bar will reduce your stats from base. Choosing other traits besides the certain few in this game with tradeoffs will not make your stats lower. And I just want to know if other games have this kind of trait that lowers your stats below your base if you make the wrong choice. I'm not making an argument though with that last post, I'm just asking you to show me and I'll shut up.
  7. Answer the question: any traits in other games that will kitten you if you don't actively make use of it like this one?
  8. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Celestial_Being -20% pet stats This used to be fine as a random pick, now it's just a self inflicted nerf if nothing it provides is used. Maybe someday in the future it'll be fine again if re-balanced, or maybe more traits will join it. Follow up question: any traits in other games that will kitten you if you don't actively make use of it like this one?
  9. Thinking about Taimi's illness getting worse during LW4 now, the purpose may have been more to force Gorrik out of his grief over the loss of Blish rather than Taimi's going to die soon. Blish wanted Taimi to not hold back on letting others know so that when he disappeared for good, Gorrik would have to choose to let grief overcome him or to once again step up and do all he can to save the people he care about. Taimi thought Blish could have helped her stay alive longer, but upon learning of the loss of Blish, Gorrik reveals that he was the one who saved Blish.
  10. The fix isn't the problem, the problem still happening is the problem. June 7th is when this problem gets fixed but as mentioned this same exact problem happened several years back with a gen 2 legendary collection. Frame it that way, the wait isn't from this past Tuesday to June 7th for this problem to be fixed, it's from several years back to June 7th of this year to get temporarily fixed. Go ahead and get into semantics all you want, that this is a totally different problem technically, people's emotions don't care one iota about that though.
  11. Coming from games that would require you to buy something to run around and pick stuff up for you before an arbitrary time limit runs out and some other player in the area runs off with your loot I'd say this is perfectly fine. It even got easier when a whole bunch of central tyrian mastery points got put into the game just because.
  12. Back when I used to solo the bandit champs, I remember keeping track of how many times the champ had attacked. I think I remember champs like Varre the Underhanded and Ezal the Quick throwing that torch thing after three other attacks which allowed me to anticipate its appearance. Doing all that while staying in a specific range of Varre or running behind trees around Ezal while avoiding their minions was a task to be sure though. Fun times.
  13. It's crummy, and frankly seems to be bugged since standing in the proper zone gives a protective boon that lasts a certain duration but the moment you step away from the zone, the boon disappears and ley energy buildup happens again.
  14. Someday when they run out of weapons to use for elite specs, they'll have the ability to reuse those weapons for newer specs by changing what skills you get based on selected specializations (kind of like it is now). At that point you'll either have already quit (because who knows the future) or be at least twice as annoyed by this fact due to not liking this design decision and being unable to call it a mistake as easily.
  15. Kind of hilarious how not a single one of these is useful for the mode it's earned in. Is there even water that you can swim in on any pvp maps? Greatest Of Adventuring Tyrians Tranquil Sight: Allows you to disable visuals and interact-able objects dropped by other players. Absorbing Essence: Auto collect dropped essence orbs for their related mastery. Pacify Threats: Immediately exit combat and make yourself invulnerable while channeling this mastery skill Unstoppable Ley-Lines: Allows use of contested waypoints, even in combat. Inspiring Commander: Command and coordinate certain NPCs present at world boss and meta events, providing useful skills and abilities to compensate if there is currently a lack of participants. NPCs are limited in number per event to prevent a zerg of NPC groups from forming.
  16. Well I mean if they had the resources to change "Retreat!" into "Advance!" and get new voiced lines to go with it, I don't see why not. Also that description of how the animation currently is had me chuckle.
  17. Okay, I think I understand the disappointment. Granted I don't think I'm nearly as disappointed with this outcome as you are because I still remember the end of Ice Brood Saga. I don't know if you went through that yet but I'll tell you this much, it's the exact opposite and believe me, and probably the rest of the forum, that's not a good thing. Edit: The "boss" is supposed to be on his last legs yet while he hardly does any damage, his hp is stupidly bloated and moves around like crazy making the fight last way longer than he deserves.
  18. You can avoid some attacks by moving or jumping out of the way instead of using dodge. AI enemies tend to target people with higher toughness. Risen abominations hit extremely hard when they have 25 frenzy stacks. Mordrem leeching thrashers can't hit you with their rooted attack if you stand next to them. Might is awesome. Retaliation is annoying. You can keybind snap AoE to target. Some jumps in jumping puzzles require or are easier to do by pressing jump without a direction input. Crafting stations can be used to access banks.
  19. People keep commenting with chips on their shoulders here. That's what I would have liked to see a lot less of here. Lady just happened to catch my attention and gave me reason to test her responses. I don't take kindly to people assuming the suffering of others is perfectly fine just because they think the ones suffering are or were benefiting from the status quo. Anyway, more on topic I'm actually a bit curious about the lesser positions of leadership make up. I feel like the positions below that of the top of the chain create a more interesting picture and leaves room for characters with more interesting roles. Something I liked about GW2 is the presence of so many lesser characters that we come in contact with and learn about or fight alongside, characters that are not the supreme leader of a group yet we have extensive interaction with. Their existence makes the world feel more living. And because there is room for so much more of these characters, we can see a much more statistically significant trend. These are the nods that feel more real, the average person is not going to be bumping into only people of world changing importance, they'll encounter people with all kinds of positions and backgrounds. Something I feel is that earlier story content, the make up of these kind of characters is quite well balanced. I mean that for example, if we wanted to find a "good" male and a "bad" female, or a "good" female and a "bad" male, we don't have to think too long to realize we can find that pairing. Like I think about Minister Arton (male) and Minister Estelle (female), where Minister Arton was undoubtedly "good" to the end with his loyalty to Queen Jennah despite his friendship with Minister Caudecus while Minister Estelle was simply "bad" and went along with Minister Caudecus' schemes. Then I remembered we have Morrigu (female) and Leurent (male) who are present in Twilight Arbor explorable paths. Morrigu was a "good" Warden who was there to help us and Leurent was a "bad" Nightmare Courtier. I feel I could probably keep making these kinds of comparisons in later content, up until End of Dragons. I have not purchased End of Dragons yet however so I don't know if this still holds in that content. Any comments on that from anyone?
  20. You wrote: You want to dismiss his viewpoints because you believe his struggles are minimal due to being a man. But not all people struggle in the same way and you can't be sure what his struggles are, if they might even be worse than your own. Speaking of struggles worse than your own, you, just as everyone else living, sustain yourself with the flesh and fibers of other organisms be it plant, animal, fungi, etc. If you want to ignore the differences between the struggles of individual men with this comment, how about we ignore the differences between the struggles of living humans? After all, you are either the direct or indirect cause of the suffering and demise of the organisms you consume or displace. Let's try this: If you're a human and you feel like life is being unfair to humans, (1) don't because it's not, and (2) relax because even if it is, the rest of the world is still in your favor. This is an absurd notion I present because this is not a reality that you caused out of malice, it's merely the way things are and have been. It is not your fault. We also don't actually know how they struggle, if it's something better or worse than what we go through, all we have is circumstantial evidence gathered in studies colored by human perspective. Anyway you come across as someone trying to push some sort of agenda of vengeance against what you perceived as wrong (gender inequality) and taking this chance to lash out at someone with absolutely no authority on the matter. Desiring retribution by expressing it in a video game lore sub forum.
  21. No one has a right to dominate over the other and this is no mere law written by humanity. We all eat the dead after all and will never truly understand each other's struggles. Take a step back and drop that desire for retribution that will not be paid off in a video game lore sub forum.
  22. The nodes did in fact get changed to drop more eternal ice. They also raised the amount of eternal ice needed to purchase just about anything from the vendors.
