  1. Why are we yelling? Can't you see that everyone on the EU server is effected by this? Just wait until they fixed the rollback and stop yelling with putting your title in CAPS. <.<
  2. Why do you think that ArenaNet is fine with "ppl get chased off the game by stalkers."? Do you have any evidence for that claim? You should be very carefull with what you say and how you say that. Stalking and harassement is a reportable offence and punished by ArenaNet! (I first handendly heard of several cases where accounts got permanently banned) Please show me evidence for what you just said. These are some serious allegations towards a gaming company who has a high reputation for social gaming. And no, the current friend/block system is no evidence for your claim. First of all, i dont have any proof that anet wont ban someone if they get reports that said person is a stalker, the reason i say anet is fine withit its because they think its acceptable to go in after the dmg its done and offer bans and what not (which however effective may be i cant say without having proof that it happens all the time or fast enough) The problem is the friendlist and the block function and the fact they havent adressed this for near 8 years speaks plenty about how important it is to them.Well you didn't say that in your first comment. I quote again : "Bacause anet is fine letting ppl get chased off the game by stalkers." and that is simply not true. And it's not what you say in your 2nd comment now. Also, you can ONLY punish people after the damage is done. That is how justice works. You can't say "Oh, I think he will harass people in 2 weeks, let's ban him now". (Unless you have valid proof that someone plans to do something against the rules (law) ofc!) That is not how any justice systems work. It's not ArenaNets job to assume that every player is a stalker or a bad person. I want you to keep in mind that we talk about a minority here.I am also not debating whether the system for friends/block is good or bad, this has nothing to do with this. I am talking about your unfounded allegations which are by the way still unfounded! Let me give you an example: In most countrys, there is no law that you have to lock the door to your home. Does that mean that the government is fine with people breaking in other peoples homes? No, they are definetly not. -> Just because ArenaNet has this current system (good or bad) does not mean that they are fine with harassment and stalking. (Which is exactly what you said!) Please refrain from making false allegations publicly. Thank you!

  4. I don't think that it is a misconception by ArenaNet. It's just that 80% of the players are bad at the game. And that's it. Don't get me wrong, I am not attacking anyone but bad players are bad players. Period. There is no reason to hide this fact. When I see people running around in Strikemissions who don't even have the ability (mentally, physically) to dodge a 2 seconds casting attack by an enemy (Claw and Voice) then that's just being bad. And that's fine!I find it more fascinating that these bad players come to the forum or ingame and complain about how hard some parts of the game are. Duhhh. And if you tell them that they are just bad and that they should work on themselfs and improve, they get toxic and refuse to do anything, they even start to blame the game! Imagine! I don't get it. If you are bad, then that's fine. But don't complain about content you are not able to beat. What kind of attitude is that? Just don't play it or "git gud". I know many player refuse to think that way but that's the truth. You are not entitled that the entire game adapts to your skill level. And people couldn't care less whether you are playing Strikemissions or not as long as player play it. Whenever I go online, even at midnight, the lfg is full with people looking for groups to do Strikemissions. So it seems to me that it is pretty successful. Who cares that you don't play Raids or Strikemissions then? Just don't do it and move along. There are many player who enjoy Raids and Strikemissions and who love the thrill of achivement and self-improvement. If you are not one of them, then good for you I guess? For example: Breakbars are such an easy mechanic. I don't understand why people still stuggle with it, even today! Just use your cc?! I don't get it. It's just 1 click on your keyboard. 1 click on an ability that impairs movement. Why is it so hard for some people? Why? The worst thing that ArenaNet could ever do is to adapt the game, in general, to these bad players skill level. In my opinion, the game should be way harder than it is today, especially in PvE. That would, hopefully, make player finally turn on their brain and make them start to think about what they are actually doing. I even believe that some player don't read their skills and just press random buttons. Why tho? [sarcasm] But I understand: Pressing "V" or "Double W" is really hard. The same goes for skills other than 1. Why not make every enemy in the game fall down with just 1 autoattack? Wouldn't that be fun? Or even better: Remove the whole combat and just run a 10 hours cinematic. That would please them right? I mean it's not really different from what some player already request. The game is almost 8 years old and some people still don't understand how cc works. And that's frustrating because it's just so simple. I really don't get it. I really don't!
  5. @"lummuss.6850" Did you read https://www.guildwars2.com/en-gb/news/looking-ahead-to-spring-summer-and-the-future/ (A very recent news) or what makes you think it isn't coming? I wonder why people always assume something when there is no reason to?! They said that it is coming after Visions of the Past is released.
  6. I don't understand what the whole issue of this thread is. You either have the money to buy an expansion (product) or you don't. What's the deal now? Do you want mercedes to sell their cars cheaper to you? Do you want microsoft to sell their software cheaper to you? Do you want LG to sell displays cheaper to you? I don't get it. Is this about being cheap? If you are cheap then that's not an issue for ANet. ANet is a company that wants to earn money. Peroid. If you can't afford something, then that's very unfortuante, but the reality.Do we live in a time where people complain that they can not afford a product on a global (gaming) market? I wish we had these times when I was a kid. I would loved to get every game for $1. Or a brand new gameboy for $5. Btw, regional pricing doesn't only work in one way. It's not like you spend $5 on a game and ANet magically get's $60 after the transaction is done. No, they get the same money you spend. So why exactly would ANet want to sell you a game cheaper when their costs and input remain the same? Just because you are from Brazil? I really don't want to be rude but that is kind of disrespectful. Wages and other costs don't magically decrease just because someone from Brazil bought a product from the US. As I said in the beginning, you either have the money or you don't. How many times did I want to have a game as a kid but didn't have the money? At least 300 times. Very unfortuante but the reality. Videogames are not a basic necessity that needs to be subsidized by a company or a government. Putting shame on ANet now just shows how entilted some people feel.
  7. Can't play the story because the Vlast crystals are too high and you need Masteries to get to them, but the masteries are also too high, as they are designed to require certain skills to get to them. Can't leave the PoFire starter cluster because everything is designed to block you out if you don't have these masteries :-P I tried swimming around to another area to get masteries there (that I could see on the map), but the game killed my character with the current. There's no way to progress. I've been running around for 5 days looking for nooks and crannies that I could slip through. They don't exist. Playing the storyline is impossible, because you can't get to the items needed to progress it. That was kind of my point, but it is no longer a concern of mine. Strange that [insert number of player who completed PoF] people were able to complete it without any (major) issues (including me) and you aren't, isn't it? But, as you just said, it is not a concern of you anymore :)So, have fun in your new game. It is you that misses out on a lot of stuff. Not us. So don't try to flipp the coin now and make us feel bad ;)
  8. The server of Gw2 are not hosted by ArenaNet nor in Seattle. They are Amazon-Server. Some people do have lags and some (like myself) don't. First of all, even if a GM was online, he wouldn't be able to snapp with his fingers to fix your issue. Also, putting all your title in CAPS is rude and childish. This just makes people (like myself) think that it isn't even worth reading your post, still hoping for a downvote button btw. Finally, please read this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en-gb/news/a-message-to-our-community-about-covid-19/
  9. But that's not the point. The point is forcing a play style that hasn't been required before. No you are wrong and I disagree with you! Stop making these claims for all player and for everyone! I enjoyed playing with others, yes with strangers! It was a lot of fun and I thank ANet for this experience! I would love to see more like this. Please don't listen to the complainer who think that crying the loudest makes them right.I disagree with the whole complaint in this topic!I LOVE VISIONS OF THE PAST! <3
  10. Btw, this is a not a topic that belongs in "discussion". There is a subforum for "Account & Technical". It is pretty confusing to read this in discussion because you first think about UI elements of the game. >.< Took me some time to understand what this thread is about.
  11. I would love to see that! This reminds we very much of the Faction expansion for Gw1 where you had to fight for either one of the factions (Luxon, Kurzick) and claim land on a dynamic map. I really loved that system and I would to see such a system in the open world. Maybe even for guilds. It opens 1000 new ways of playing the game and making pregression. But something makes me feel that we WILL see something like that coming. I think they are going the way they did with factions(gw1) and I am ready for it :D
  12. @"MithranArkanere.8957" I agree with you in most of the points. I would love to see Kaineng really tight and urban! I don't think that "Cyberpunk" is possible but a "Gw2 themed Cyberpunk" would be perfect! Very nice points you made there :)
  13. I liked the HoT maps and meta-events waaaaay more than the PoF ones. Even today.Don't get me wrong, PoF has beautiful landscapes and places but gameplay and content wise they don't reach HoT ones (imo).I think maps with the scale of HoT and diffculty could really bring 100s of hours of gameplay and fun. I love HoT! <3 That doesn't mean that I am against a new way. I just hope they are as good as HoT which is why I picked it. Edit: I also would love to see some maps like the silverwaste with big map wide meta-events and go in cycles. I really liked that even tho the silverwaste is now a place for farming. I remember back it in the days, when it came out, it was a blast to play and really overwhelming (in a good way!) :D
  14. Oh really? I didn't know that! =)I play since 2012 and didn't know it's only base + gear. Well, okay then. See, I misunderstood it :P
  15. Hello :) I think I found a bug with the trait "Strength of Stone" which says "Gain 10% of you toughness as conditiondmg". This only seems to work for base toughness but not for dynamic toughness applied by skills or attuments. I run a scepter and when I use skill 2 "Rockbarrier", which gives me 250 toughness for 30 seconds, it does not increase my conditiondamage by 25 for that duration. The same goes for attuning to earth which gives me 120 toughness (as a Weaver) but does not increase my conditiondamage by 12 as told by the trait. So maybe I misunderstand the trait but for me it clearly says "Gain 10% of your toughness as conditiondamage". This only works for your base toughness (including gear) but not for toughness gained by skills or attuments (I know I repeat myself, I just wanted to make the issue clear again).I can add a Video if need be that shows that it does not work. Tested serveral times today. I hope someone can confirm that Greetings :)
  16. The entitlement with which the OP makes his/her statement is very extra!"I was not able to speak my opinion because my opinion is valuable and precious and if you don't hear or agree with my opinion then you are [put in whatever you want]" ... Really?Calm down, it's just a survey. My banks wants me to take a survey every 3 months and I never did that. Also, with all due respect, your personal opinion might be valuable to you, but it is not important on a large scale. You are just 1 person in a big bucket full of other surverys. You are 1 rice corn in a big 100kg rice bag. So please, with all due respect, don't act up like you are somehow entitled to throw your "most precious and valuable" opinion in. That is not how surverys work. If the average score for question a) is 7.5 and your personal opinion is 2.0, it is still going to be 7.5 (Maybe 7.4 if the value is on the very edge) unless 1000 other people also change their mind because you choose to pick 2. But that is not how it works. Where does all this self-entitlement come from in the past weeks/months? I don't get it.I am also here since pre2012 and I never did a survey nor do I remember to ever recive an invitation. Am I mad? No! I don't care. What's the issue?!
  17. Is this a troll post by the OP? Please tell me it is, please sweet jesus!
  18. They fixed the capes on the most recent patch! (15 Minutes ago) ;)
  19. @"Tekoneiric.6817" You do realize that Shields are a weapon used by 5 classes for combat and skills do you? Why would you want to remove a weapon and skills just for decoration purposes? This is not like asking for skins to be merged etc. This has huge gameplay consequenzes. It is like removing the Greatsword or the Staff. I don't understand why you would want to do that. Just to look good? Or did you forget that a shield is more than decoration?! I really don't understand why one would come up with this "Idea". 100% against this idea. No, 1000% against this idea!
  20. I am 99% sure that this post is just a troll or a rant. The attitude with which the OP tries to make a statement here is beyond comprehension. I am not even going to argue with that.I am also not even sure what this topic is about or what the core message is but this attitude and the lack of mature expression has already kicked me off. This might be a candidate for a close!
  21. Another elite spec threat? Sorry but do we get every 2 days a new one now? Why don't you ask this in the other 500 elite spec discussions?
  22. I think that I might be a minority by saying that but I think this game is not as unbalanced as many people say here. Do not get me wrong, there is stuff can could be buffed/nerved but as a whole, I am pretty happy with what we have so far. Now here is the thing: The question is, what does "balance" even mean? Does it mean "fairness" between classes? Does it mean "equality" between classes? Does it mean "every class can do the same"? As you can see, balance has a pretty loose definition. For me, balance means "fairness" between classes. And by that I mean that no class is, in general, superior to another class. And I think that this is the case in GuildWars2. Quite frankly, I have never seen an MMORPG + SPVP (In that combination) game that is as balanced as GuildWars2. I assume that most of your guys definition of "balance" would mean "equality". But I assume, that this is not what a lot of player do want to see, not even in PvP. At least I don't want it. I LOOOOVE that Gw2 has such unique classes with diffrent styles to play even within themselfs. Now, let me explain to you why I think this way: Let's break the combat in Gw2 down to a very simple term. If you take away all of the graphics, all of the sound and all of the visual stuff, combat is all about numbers. You have 17000HP, you get attacked by 500, you now have 16500HP and so on. Your goal is to get the enemie to 0HP and prevent yourself from getting to 0HP. Very simple. This is how it works. Now, this would not be a game if we just run a simulation. So the player has to do something. Now, there are 3 ways to prevent yourself from getting to 0HP. 1. Healing: Reverse of Dmg, 2. Dodge/Block: Active evasion of an Attack or by a well timed skill, 3. Defensive stats: Toughness and Vitality to have more HP and/or take less dmg. And here lays the Problem: Unlike other MMORPGs, ANet or Gw2, choose the way of "Dodge" and "Block" for the main way to negate damage. What does that mean?Well, in most MMORPGs (unless you fight a super mega ultra uber boss) if you build on Max. HP and Def. you can facetank a mob. However, if I go full Toughness and Vitality in GuildWars2, it won't change a lot. Sure, I have more HP and I do get less damaged but that only means that I won't die in 2secs but in 5secs. While this can have an impact in fights, it does not make a lot of sense, especially in PvE (Where dmg is the key!). So timing, dodging and blocking is the key element of defensive gameplay. Now, let me put this clear: I am not a superb player. Yes, I am a Veteran player and I do play sPvP and PvE likewise regulary. However, this is only my point of view! So, why am I telling you this? Well, I think that GuildWars2 (and this should not become a rant about anyone) has the worst skilled players of all online competitive games (And I count endgame PvE to that) I have ever played! Many Many Many player, even in PvP, do not understand what their class can do, how interactions work and how certained mechanics work. Yes, sometimes they even refuse to learn it!Let me give you an example of a Goldish-Platnium PvP Ranked game:I had a support Tempest with me, which I like because I think that support tempest is really underrated in PvP. Running menders and Dagger/Warhorn. During a teamfight, our team needed an urgend AOE heal as we all were pretty low. So the Tempest reacted, switched to Water, used his Warhorn 5 and 4 for the AOE heal. However, I saw that he did not blast his Dagger 3 into the Warhorn 5 as it started. Thus losing ~1k AOE heal. I saw that happening many times in that game so I wrote him after that and invited him into my party. In the Arena I showed him that he can blast his Dagger 3 right after he used Warhorn 5 for an extra heal "for free". He said "Wow, I didn't knew that".Now sure, this some more or less advanced mechanic but still, people do not understand what their class is fully able to do and how combos e.g. work.Even dodging is still not a thing in most players heads. Thus the whole basis of the combat system is not adapted by the player. The same goes for PvE, no it is even worse! Sometimes I think they don't know any other skill than "1". And that low player based skill is destroying the basic idea of the combat system! I see so many player never dodging an attack in PvE. The combat system is very proactive! While I like the system very much, it does not work out for many player as their gameplay-skills are very low. So what does ANet have to do to make the game enjoyable for them (Beside making PvE ridiculously easy)? Yes, you got it! They buff all classes. This happend with the release of the first generation of elite specs. And ever since then, we reached a power creep. Classes got so ridiculously strong, especially in PvP, that it broke the balance and Core GuildWars2 PvE content got so easy that it feels like a tutorial. Well, after writing this Novel of stuff you may think: "Well Wubbbi, but there is a contradiction in what you just said. You said that there IS an imbalance". Yes, there is an imbalance. But not in terms of fairness. There is an imbalance in terms of power spike and player based skills. As you know, I define balance by "fairness" which means that I can play any class I want and whether I win or lose does solely depends on my gameplay skill. And for me, this IS the case in Gw2. There is not a single class in the game where I can say "Okay, now I can not use this class for XXX" or "This class is complete garbage". Not even in PvP. People hate Elementalists in PvP because they think it is somehow weak compared to others. Sure, I lose fights as an elementalist, I lose games too. But I also win fights and I also stomp my enemies in other fights. And that goes for all classes. You have to find a perfect way to keep classes unique and give them some sort of fairness. I can not see a huge, unbalanced fairness gab between all 9 classes. For me, there is no class where I feel like "Okay, this class is garbage, delete it". No, not at all. So, that is why I think that the balance between classes is not as bad as people tend to say. Sure, there are some opimizations to be done. Please respect my opinion on that as I did yours. Greetings
  23. Just because it is a MMO doesn't means bad story telling is acceptable. No reason to encourage mediocrity. They have so far been putting most of their effort into Living Story Episodes, that is why WvW and PvP and such a bad state. I expect at least story to be good if that is their main focus. Oh and I expected Joko to rip out of Aurenes stomack, since he is immortal and even if cut into pieces he reforms back into full state. And what makes you think that your opinion is more valueable than others? Just because you don't like it, for whatever reason, does not mean that it is bad or that it "sucks". Your opinion is yours. You are one of 7 billion people on this planet. While you are valuable as a human and deserve respect, you are not important! (Neither am I) Please keep that in mind for the future when you try to put your opinion on others. As with every movie, book, music, video, game or whatever: Opinions and tastes are different.I, personaly, enjoy the episode very much! I loved the Kralk instance and I don't mind if Aurene is alive again. I loved to see her speaking, giving her even more character. Now, is my opinion important? No, it is not! So please, don't push edges here and respect others for their opinions. If someone liked it, they do not need to justify why they did nor do they have to share your point of view! Much love
  24. To be honest, I think that the creater of this topic is just trolling or s/he does not understand what the system is good for ... S/He demands to oneshot mobs in low lvl areas but for what? And why? This game is an MMORPG. Imagine going back to a lvl 15 area as a lvl 80 character and one shot all mobs. This is: a) Completly boring! Like seriously, I don't want to play games like these. Why would you want to do that? I can lvl a character without buffs and thomes within 2 days from 1-80. What is the point? If you do that, you can just simply remove the low lvl areas or level in general.b) The goal of the game is NOT to hit lvl 80.(!!!) Levels are just for progress but not the endgame. The game REALLY starts once you hit lvl 80. I always imagine the lvl 1-80 time more like a tutorial than acutally serious gameplay.c) Low lvl player will have a hard time to acutally enjoy the game or even do anything. Imagine! Just call a lvl 80 guild member or friend to clear up the path for you. Urgh, please no!d) Learn the basic mechanics of the game first! No offence but you don't seem to fully understand how this game works and why certaint systems are in place. This is not a "grind to lvl 80 and become OP" game nor is it a "Get the best gear and stomp everything" type of game. This games mechanics, especially in lvl 80 content, is about skills (I mean the player skills). Learn to dodge, engage, heal and fight at proper times. I also assume that you have not reached HoT content yet. ... Otherwise you would see queensdale as a paradise of peace! I advice the creater of this topic to think for a second or two. This is not a single player game where you can get as OP as you want and then start over once you are bored. The scaling system is in the game since day 1 and is one of the KEY FEATURES of Gw2 and a huge reason why I enjoy the game.I can go back to low lvl region and be NOT overpowered while still being strong. And just as a side note: It is nearly impossible for a lvl 80 character to die in Queensdale. (Beside from Meta/Boss Events). You must be doing something extremly wrong. As a conclusion: I don't think that the creater of this topic, with respect, understands what he is talking about or how the system works or even why it is in the game.My Opinion: Please keep it in the game! Removing it will destroy the game for me.
  25. Calling an MMORPG out for the lack of Solo-Engame content is ... interesting! Btw, all Story-Content, from personal story up to LS4 EP5 are solo content. And if you ask me, this IS your solo content. If that is too easy for you, you can always run dungeons or even raids solo. (Raids will be impossible tho!). There are some videos where people solo dungeons. If you feel the urge to do it, then go for it.
