Is it just me or EOD meta events are boring?

At least there are meta in HoT, and they aren't that bad. And compared to HoT, better than the Tarir meta anyway 😉

Before LS1 came back, I thought LS1 was the best part of GW2 I played - yes they didn't brough everything back - but after I replayed it, I must say, hm, HoT, later LS parts and even the PoF story instances are better.

Maybe it just getting old after 10 years, whatever they make it will never again be as good as it was with 7 years less playing.

The metas sure aren't empty that's for sure.  I do the DE meta several times a week now. I've been doing the Echovald Wilds meta fairly regularly.

The only meta I don't particularly like is the New Kaineng meta, but it's still done regularly.

Vinewrath has 1 mechanic per lane. DS was always an extremely boring afk event. The 3 mordrem generals have 1 mechanic each. Never understood the ds hype. It was always boring.

The eod metas are better but have some issues. Too many mob wave events. Especially the kaineng escort is a bit too boring after capturing the reactor and the endboss is just an hp sponge.

HoT metas are just no effort free loot. Thats why people like them. You can show up, do something for 2min and are done. Very easy to afk leech with multiple accounts.

Try eod cm strikes. They are better than w1-4 and w7. Every recent instanced content is better than release dungeons. this includes dragon response missions. Almost every release dungeon boss had no mechanics. The 5min pre events should be skippable. That is the most annoying part in drms.

Depends on the instance you get. Don't get there too early, so you end up in an overflow map. Then AB has the wonderful drama.

Strongly disagree. Whilst I see no issue with simple, one lane or low effort mechanics in open world, vinewrath and DS both used to fail quite regularly and a good test of people’s ability to work as a team. It’s been years since that has happened, largel,y because of power creep and that the average player has improved (no matter what a few incorrectly say). That they have aged poorly is their bigger issue.
Vinewrath was not quite as good as Marionette, but still better than almost anything post-HoT. DS was flawed, but the towers required strategy. When people ignored it, it failed. Every time.

DE is decent, although a bit of a visual mess with a very tedious escort. The final fight is decent I guess, but it’s not as good as Triple Trouble which I think is the better challenging boss fight. The junkyard is ok and I quite like the boss. Kaineng and Seitung are forgettable and dull for the reasons you state. Overall HoT did metas the best. It’s issue was relying too heavily on them.

The EoD maps and especially their metas are sure a step down from previous expansions (and PoF wasn't exactly putting the bar high). I could see myself returning to at least New Kaineng City (as in "to the map itself") more consistently if there was more going on in general and if EoD mobs had better HP scaling.

if you're comparing it to HoT, yeah, EoD isn't as busy.

 

the maps are huge and detailed though, which is really nice.

 

but yes, i do share the 'lack of threats to face feeling' after wading waist deep in dead chak and mordrem lol.

Map 1 has recycled Four Winds "collect floaties for 20mins" as a meta.

Map 3 has the ok Augury/Dopple.

Map 4 has meagre Junundu event and broken and just utterly dumb Maws.

Map 5 has meagre forge dogs and the longwinded, unrewarding Serpents Ire.

 

If core metas are bad, PoF metas are bad, and EoD metas are bad, maybe we need to come to the realisation that HoT is the exceptional case here. And maybe Anet needs to rebottle the magic that was HoT metas.

Ahem. Eod was like the best ex pack of the year...like fishing! And boats! And a whole legendary line with like many skins that like cost a small fortune like lots of gold like. 

 

Ofcourse the maps are gonna be barron like I mean yah know they just gave us Capes and Fishing what more do you greedy people want! Instanced player housing so you have a place to hang your cap that no one else will be able to see unless you invite them!!!

The treasure hunt replaces the traditional meta. Which is fine - not every map needs one. I think the fact there isn’t one was the point of the person you quoted

No it was not, the point of the post you quoted was talking about good and bad metas.

So they they did not forget about desert highlands since it dont have a meta.
