Saiyan.1704 Posted April 15, 2023 Share Posted April 15, 2023 I chose "leave it dead" because they shouldn't fix Stronghold. They need to gut it completely and add the items that we asked for. A sense of individual progression as you get kills similiar how a moba works. Likewise, there's little strategy and little risk when going through the lanes. ArthurDent.9538 Posted April 15, 2023 Share Posted April 15, 2023 They should make one of the daily AT's (like every Balthazar's brawl) stronghold at least for a few weeks possibly with increased rewards of some kind to get more skilled players in the game mode to figure out what exactly should be fixed in it. It was good for farming randoms in ranked during the early season's because the games would end way faster than a similarly imbalanced conquest match which is time gated by the points ticking to 500. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There's the potential for a lot of good back and forth gameplay if the teams are evenly matched and everyone understands the game mechanics. Unfortunately, people don't play it much, so many people don't understand even the basic objectives or map strategy simply because they haven't spent enough time in the game mode. Further, many of the people who do play it are noobs, so matches are often one-sided and not very dynamic. But when you DO get 10 skilled and knowledgeable players in the game...man, it can be a blast. And, as someone else pointed out, it's a nice change of pace from conquest. As far as the game mode itself, I think the biggest areas for improvement are: 1) we need more maps. One map does not a game mode make. 2) the supply running mechanic is kinda tedious. Completing a channel/"commune with this place of power" (like with the mist heroes) to summon archers and door breakers might be better so you don't have to run back and forth all the time. It also forces players to stay in the middle more to promote engagements. Alternatively, you could have several nodes to capture that spawn the summons. That provides some continuity between SH and conquest (which is good if we want to help new players learn both game modes). 3) would be nice if there were more than one path to the enemy Lord. This creates more opportunities for attacks rather than just funneling everyone through a narrow corridor. 4) balance the mist heroes.
