new rifle completely suck

bring immob first back.

immob first is actually useful offensively and defensively.

at first it may look like you can actually evade now, which should be better.

but in reality, you evade and you still die.

before you could have a lot of maneuvers that bring more sustain and counter pressure.

you will cast the immob on target which is getting close to you and you evade back to widen the gap.

or if the enemy is too close you can immob, weapon swap and counter pressure the immobed enemy.

now by the time you finish evade and start casting immob, enemy is already in your face and you literally don't have time to cast a 3/4 sec immob..as rifle, if the enemy is in your face you are already dead.

it is actually so impractical and kitten now, this skill...

without all the maneuvers, rifle actually sucks more even tho you decreased iCD and increased damage on 3.

also decreased iCD is completely meh, you are supposed to cycle through ability to be most optimal, if you just spam skills, you will soon end up with no skill and die anyway.

as some one who plays a lot of rifle, the new brutal shot literally decreased my sustain.

before the change, you could actually see like 1-2 rifle warrior from time to time and enjoy it even tho it sucks, now even us, refuse to play this garbage weapon.

ngl, I often unintentionally interrupt the immob because you have to let the skill play out before using any other skills to finally shoot the immob. I'm used to stopping what I'm doing to click 4 so I immediately evade as I'm shooting the shot. It's not quite immediate but I was able to time it better. A lot of times the target will end up immobilized in a spot I didn't want them in vs before where they were alot closer to the spot I pressed the button.

I still play rifle before and after the change. I like the decrease in the cooldowns as I can use quickness much more offensively on a ranged weapon. I can unload all charges and either auto until I can get into melee or just weapon swap after an uload (likely just swap into Dragon Trigger to get off a Reach if I still can't get into range.

The cast times on rifle (and longbow, for that matter) are just too long. Compare it to Ranger LB/SB for instance: Point blank shot? 1/2s cast with nearly instant projectile. Hunters shot? Instant cast. Crippling shot? Instant. Concussive shot? 1/4s.

Thief rifle and shortbow are similar stories.

Ranger and DE also have the benefit of 1500 range on LB and rifle, respectively.

In summary, if warrior's ranged weapons are to compete with those of other classes, we at least need shorter cast times (and faster projectile speeds) to match them.  Longer range would help too.

before you could at least have a chance of landing immob with 3/4 cast time, now there's literally a visual queue of almost 2 seconds that lead up to the immob LOL

like how you think this would be good...

Imo, the immobilizing shot should be instant cast right after the roll (or 1/4s cast, max). The 3/4s dodgeroll animation is telegraph enough; no need to tack a lengthy cast time on top of it. Alternatively, the shot could be at the same time as the roll, like ranger SB3.

I really thought when they refactored this skill they would have just copied the implementation of the many shoot + dodge abilities currently in the game.

Anyway previously the Immob was usable but the dodge wasn't, and now the dodge is usable but the Immob isn't. I wouldn't call that worse, just at worst a sidegrade.

The new ICDs and Brutal Shot are the best changes that Warrior rifle ever got. The old Brutal Shot, shoot>evade version, had a "bug" attached to it, as when you shot you where stuck in the animation window allotted for that skill. Meaning, even if you weapon swapped off rifle to cancel the evade and punish the immob you just landed you couldn't. You'd just stand there until the animation window ended, and the immob ran out. The immob also didn't last long enough to even land a Gun Flame. You had to take "Leg Specialist" to give you an immob that confirmed into Gun Flame.

Rifle now can confirm into Kill Shot, Gun Flame, Volley and Explosive Shot and every weapon swap combination you can think of. The lower ICDs give you the ability to burst and apply pressure faster. Landing one volley off "Leg Specialist" is nice, and landing the second one off Brutal Shot feels amazing.

same as flurry, they tried but still in a questionable spot.

i really appreciate the flurry change, aye overall its still a weak skill, but at least now we could actually land it to proc burst traits, something that made it completely useless in the past.

sadly when the expansion hits, with the coming changes, every other class will be pushed to new heights, while warrior gets even more left behind.

i pray to the six i'm wrong.

Charr don't pray to the Six.

Flurry becoming mobile was a baseline change that needed to happen before addressing it further. Turns out it needs more than just becoming mobile. Wouldn't you know it, what we've been saying for years about warrior weapons needing massive updates has been correct...

It has nothing to do with muscle memory, it's easy to spot potential and mechanical failure just like people could spot bladesworn's. Its just a matter of time, some people will spot it earlier, and some are late to catch on.

The change on brutal shot basically kills it. Now there's no way to set up your burst with immobilize. Unless you stay within 800 range of any fight, then it becomes incredibly easy for the enemy team to start ganging you as 800 range, unlike 1200 range, is super easy for most builds now a day. The number of times I get ganged trying to set up a burst immobilize has increased in a straight line.

So brutal shot now basically becomes only evade.

before i could even set up decapitate with it by casting immobilize to delete unaware enemies or to guarantee kills.

Or i could catch fleeing enemy with the same way of casting immobilize and weapon swap before rolling.

And the new brutal shot is set up in a way now, that you immobilize enemy in an range where you  could not swap melee to counter pressure and rifle suck at(mid range) You basically become a sitting duck.

you lost the ability to set up damage, you lost the ability to catch enemy, you lost the ability to stay far away and the ability to immobilize, in exchange for a 0 cast time evade is not a fair trade in anyway.

it's simply a hard nerf, the potential has gone down. you can meme safer with gun flame, but the entire rifle kit is just not realistic to play now in real fight that's not gunflame memeing in zergs.
