Suggested change to WvW weekly Wizard's Vault challenges

The escort 10 supply caravans challenge is really lame and should be changed.

The reason this is lame is because the fastest way to do it is to just walk next to caravans in your territory until you get them all. There's no risk, no engagement with enemies, nothing.

I suggest changing this to something more pro-active that involves going out and fighting the enemy, instead of waiting for them to come to you.

My suggestion for a new challenge:

  • Destroy doors or walls on 10 different enemy structures.

This would encourage players to pro-actively seek out siege attacks.

thats just dumb , not everyone has all day to play the game , so giving ppl also an easy daily /weekly is totally ok .

Even if there's something going on during your log in time, you might not have access to a map where anything is going on. If you're someone on an outnumbered map sitting in a queue trying to knock out those dailies, you're going to be sweating that lonely siege attempt in hostile corners, especially if the other servers are rolling deep and have that energy your side doesn't. You'll spend your dailies attempt feeling like you escaped something because the other sides are going to be full of hungry players trying to fill their bags and knock out their own dailies. 

I get your angle, that WvW functions should promote engagement, but match structure and population finagling has already squashed that dynamic on a routine level.

Escorting dollys is literally the easiest thing. And sometimes also the fastest.

You only have to stay with the dolly until the bubble pops (2-3s) to get achievement credit (goes for guild escort missions too). That's it. End of story. If the dolly go in even if you are across the map, boom dolly done. People can stand at DBL NC for a couple of minutes and finish it if that is home and the camp has speedy, lol.

Isn't that what attacking towers and keeps weeklies already do?

This is why we need to take enemy's camps. .... the objective is NOT to give our ally a hard day, it's so our enemy cannot do their dailies,

What do you mean, there is no other way to take an objective than to use siege 😄

However, aboslutely no for this swap/idea. It would just bring more drama with zero benefit. Plus one important thing that escorting doly gives you at least partitiaption (if you get escort event which is not required to count towards weekly), but destroying gate/wall gives you nothing except wxp, it does not even count towards capture event..

The worst WvWvW daily by far are those related to jumping puzzles or Edge of the Mists. Both of them literally contribute NOTHING to the actual game. Escorting dolyaks actually helps your side, so it makes sense.

Just delete the jumping puzzle and Edge of the Mist weeklies and replace them with something like 50+ player kills, 10 camps taken etc.
