There is no option for WvW in the replay list, so was unable to vote.

Where is pvp, wvw? It has by far the highest replay value for me.

It's disappointing to see WvW and PvP forgotten. I guess the devs forget those game modes all the time though so why not.

Personally, I enjoy a mix of Open world, metas and some WvW and instanced content. I like that no matter how much I play this game there is enough varied content that there is always something new to find and enjoy.

I've just updated the poll with sPvP and WvW options for the other two questions that go into the same direction.

About the other limitations:
Achievement hunters, mini collectors, fashion wars, ... duelists in WvW are also a separate group of specialists, as well as the whole GvG sub-community, ... RP is not a single section as well, they have sub-genres ... we have the racing-content ... the instanced content section is also something that should be split into all sub-sections: Dungeons, Fractals, Raids ... on a second thought, the raids should be separated into their wings ... etc. etc. etc.

We can make this poll extremely complex, addressing every single sub-content and sub-community. What is the perfect size? I do not know. I have drawn a line where I thought most of the content was covered. The idea was to have a detailed, but not too complex poll to give people struggling with the content a nice overview.

I've seen the complaints and added extra options for sPvP and WvW. I know I have missed a lot of sub-groups and I am sorry about it. You are free to make a new poll. The polls on this forum have limits with options. Which means you have to skip categories anyway.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and everyone for participating so far!

FYI it's impossible for anyone who has already voted to edit their vote, so the poll will show inaccurately low numbers for PvP and WvW.

(This is not directed at the OP, but at anyone who uses this poll to interpret the popularity of different areas of the game.)

When you get down to things like that it's also very subjective.

I've been collecting mini pets since GW1 (there's 22 I still haven't got in that game) but I don't think of it as a content type and wouldn't have thought to include it in a poll like this. Minis are a type of reward I like and which motivates me to do different things, but what you have to do is too varied to group it all together. It ranges from completing hearts, fishing and doing simple collections to reward tracks, clearing raids, placing in PvP tournaments and often to spending gold and real money.

But other mini collectors might disagree, and I'm not going to tell them they're wrong, it's just a different way of thinking about it.

I agree, and I think it would be better for the OP to ask a mod to lock the thread and just remake it.

Suggest you need to add 'achievement and collection hunting' as its core to the GW Series.

Thanks for the update but people who already voted can't change their vote. Not your fault, I know. But still. Like almost all forum polls, this one too, will not tell you or anyone much of statistic value. It's just not possible with the framework the usual forum softwares offer.

When I post something on the General Discussions board, I am totally aware that a lot of people will not see it. Especially the WvW and sPvP sub-communitites mostly operate in their own sub-boards. Instanced Content, same. How do I get to this twisted assumption? A few of you pointed out to me that sPvP and WvW were missing and you have got Thank You and Upvotes for that. But if I look at the number of complaints and the number of reactions ... they are slightly the same. If the real sub-communities would have seen this poll, those reactions would have been 20-50 at least. From those who reacted to the complaints, there are always a few players not directly involved, solidarizing with the left-outs.

To get a better shot, I should run polls in the specific sub-boards. I know the WvW board has a very dedicated user, Xenesis, who frequently runs polls to catch the mood and preferences of their sub-community. So there is no need for me to run a separate poll there. From my personal experience over the past years, I consider the sPvP and the Instanced sections 'difficult'. We have tried a couple of times, we just do not get along well. I know too little about sPvP to make a poll that can be useful to someone. For Instanced I have the knowledge, but a lot of haters. Besides, they rely on Wingman data. Which is totally acceptable.

Now why did I make this poll? Definitely not to show ANet a mirror and force them to create more content of a certain type. They have real data for this. They know which content is highly frequented and which is only played for achievements - if at all. But we do not have that data.

Currently, we are in a content draught. Next content comes up at the end of February (?), which is most likely the same salami-tactics as with IBS. But instead of Drizzelwood Coast, it is Inner Nayos and instead of DRMs we have Convergences. Slightly modified for half a year or even longer. So people are bored. Especially those who have started recently and have finished the story-line by now or finished an expansion/dlc, ponder about how to proceed. The poll shows where people go to have fun and what people prefer to do to have fun. It does not represent the ingame-community in any way. But it gives people an idea, a hint where to look.

This is the 2nd post in this topic where I just have to explain my actions. Originally I planned to write a few paragraphs about my own preferences as well. By debating the purpose of the poll, we derail it. Which may lead to it getting locked or even deleted. And some people would even be happy about it. This is why I reduced my forum activities to the absolute minimum. The topic itself often becomes a negligibility. Sadly.

Thanks to everyone who participated so far!

Polls on these boards are inherently flawed as the population on the forum is not a large enough sample size.  I'd rather Anet remove polls entirely as they serve no real statistical purpose.

The problem is not sample size - you'd be surprised how small a sample size sometimes might be while still being representative. The real issue (and one so big it cannot be just waved away) is the highly biased selection of that sample.

I actually wouldn't be surprised bc I either took an intro stats class or any freshman social science course ever but nonetheless, this isn't wrong. When you're considering a forum poll you need to consider that the majority of responses will come not only from ppls who likely spend more time talking about the game than playing it but also that many of our beloved posters  are so enamored of their own narrow interpretations of what the game should be that they will react violently to any suggestion that the game could possibly be something else to others . . .

The OP themselves acknowledges that the lack of pvp/wvw inclusion was due to their own personal conflicts with those communities . . .

And yet in spite of all that, lots of us just look at this thread and think 'ooh, look, poll, fun'. Maybe try that . . ?

Second field is required but dont have the thing i like most.

i selected from option 1 core and wvw (playing with dyes on armor and mounts)

this is the answer for question 2 also

and in 3 whats importand for me  getting excited for the loot drop i am going for, but this has not happened in the past 8 years. (Except some mounts from licences but this is paid content and so not free loot drops)
I missing the feeling in guildwars 2 what other games have is the happy face while obtaining a nice skin or something shiny as a LOOT DROP. The only loot that comes is from store or paid things like bl chests. Ohw i forgot some raid drops  sure i got loot but not as much as i hoped spend time wise. Compared to time spend its Too low and so means more wasting time.

Enjoying a bossfight is first time and maybe 3 but after that i want loot!!

also selected social cus i like to talk or make jokes.
