Only Necro looked really good

Are you serious? did we watch the same video? Guard looked awesome and ranger looks so fun the whole shifting and leap and stealth

So the one opportunity to make Guardian Paragon-esque and we got a melee spear?

Probably Warrior will get that treatment as Spellbreaker already canonically is the successor of Paragon.

And Guardians need to be able to use Staff skins for this, IMO.

Did you miss the part where they stab the spear into the ground? Sounds like a terrible idea for most staff skins with the ornaments on top. 😆

Ahhh, now, that's a fair point. 😄

It looks like GS+Spear is a good combination of weapons for Guardian.

As spear will be heal/support for Guardian, it will fit good with staff.

Hey, you could take a spear skin for staff and go "all spear". 😄

Now that we're finally getting land-spear after almost 12 years of requesting, the Guardian is not getting Paragon style??

Atleast you could've make it ranged just like Paragon was in GW1... but noooo...

Anet has their own ideas for what they want and think is cool. Player satisfaction and gratification are also important (to be fair), but unfortunately they come after dev ambitions.

If the flip over skills changing from ranged to melee work smoothly, the combination of stealth and a leap/gap closer could be ver deadly in PvP & WvW roaming.

After overly complex stuff added to Ele pistol (on top of a rotation complex class) I am hoping for a more straight forward weapon (like Necro sword was). I still stand by my comment from before, that owned me several confused emotes ... too many flashy skill animations do not add to my enjoyment of open world PvE (like World bosses and meta events).

Ranger and guardian's spears are spot on thematically. Truly harking back to Paragon I guess. Ranger's spear is gonna be sick with the rogue playstyle weaving in and out of stealth.

Methinks these 3 are power or hybrid, especially guardian's and necro's. I like the mobility necro will get hehe, because being able to shadowstep frequently will be useful to trigger relic of Peitha. And knocking back people on guard spear is gonna be so funny hahaha! It sounds like an offensive support weapon, kinda rare for guardian to get both of those worlds on a weapon.

I think this will be changed into knockdown or pull after the beta (at least for PvE)
AoE knockback was never popular in PvE as it directly works against the general pull-together behavior.
A pull or knockdown would support this behavior and still fit the skill.

I hope so but kinda doubt it. We are still waiting on the exact same treatment for pistol skill #5.

I just wish Necro spear would be a full ranged weapon, as an alternative to Staff gameplay with great AOE.

Yet another melee weapon that does more or less the same as the others doesn't sound very interesting tbh.

Guardian looks cool, ranger is okay (I don't play it tho).

And please update the Aurene leggies with spear.

I know anet has gotten rid of both knockdowns AND knockbacks, even the former has been replaced with crippled like on soulbeast's takedown. Who knows whether it'll change? Knockbacks are great when you want to play at range or get enemies off you. Admittedly, I think if the symbol didn't involve weakness, the knockback would make sense more than a knockdown or pull. In the case of WvW, you can still be aggressive with knockbacks by teleporting or dashing to your enemy even when they thought they had some breathing room.

There are still six more professions we haven't seen yet, spear-wise.  It seems odd to me to space out the reveals this much on them.  Generally that approach works for ever cooler information, to rev up the players.  But here, any one profession will be some players' faves and other players' least interested in ones so there's no hype ramp up.  Thus all the long gap is doing is frustrating people that have mains that weren't yet showcased.  A set a day for three days (maybe skipping the weekend, of course) would have been a much better pace.  Right now it looks like we only get three per Thursday, to extrapolate the pattern thus far.  Ie a reveal on Thursday and nothing more since, not even on the usual info day of Tuesday.

I'm not impatient about it despite the above comment.  I can't personally tell much from the videos and quick descriptions anyway.  It just feels very odd to stretch this particular reveal out this way.

If I remember correctly, they have released EoD's elite specialisations and EoD's weapons on a three per week schedule as well.
