Riiiight.

You can always easily identify people who say stuff like this on the forums in game; they're the ones laying face down in the dirt refusing to rez at the nearest waypoint while yelling for others to pick them up as the people around them clear the actual objectives. Everyone gets dropped in this game sometimes, no matter what their mastery level or experience is.

I ve been leveling around with different classes for a while. Noticed that the game is way too easy. Creatures die too quickly, I dont even have to use most of my abilities / skills.... I like the overall graphics/story and all but the combat seems lacking depth and most of the content can easily be killed by just auto-attack (skill 1). There is no need to group or develop sophisticated strategies at all.

So my question is this a game for babies or do i have to grind to very high levels to get the fun? Thanks if anyone directs me to any of the challenging content

To be honest, there is very little challenging content here. Most of it is centered around instanced content such as raids, fractals, and PvP.

The game has one difficulty spike during HoT and it's by far the best time I've had in this game.
After that it only goes down and I'm starting to get so bored with the content, I have trouble playing for longer than an hour.
The mounts in PoF are extremely well done, but if you are primarily looking for and enjoying challenge in the open world, thoroughly play HoT and then quit.
Edit: Oh, you can definetely solo the dungeons on story-mode for a decent challenge.

Or Fractals. PoF bounties as well. Some of the HoT HPs can be relatively challenging.

They actually did have some hard hitting fights when the game launched, but nobody knew how to press the dodge button. They kept dying to massive attacks that were meant to be dodged and started to use mostly ranged weapons. Then the stuff got nerfed. Open world stuff took awhile to recover from that, so expansion stuff tends to be a little better.

I love all the salty defensiveness toward OP telling him to go to an 80 zone at low lvl, as if that would accomplish anything.

To answer the question core tyria is newb zones and game only has some difficulty once you get to heart of thorns or path of fire xpac. You kind of have to think of the pre-80 zones as one big elwyn forest to introduce you to the game, everything is happy and easy.

As others have said, the core zones are pretty easy, but the difficulty ramps up in the living world seasons and the expansions. The open world will never be a serious challenge because it is meant to be accessible to all kinds of players, but I would personally say that the difficulty of the lvl 80 content is decent enough, especially if you are playing solo. 🙂

Thanks ALL for answers and ideas. I ll get to 30 and try to solo dungeons and PvP seems fun too.

If you haven't gotten to level 30 yet I'm not surprised the game seems easy for you, very early on like that it's just focusing on the most basic mechanics and introducing you to how the game works rather than complicated combat situations.

But I think PvP would be a better choice than trying to solo dungeons at level 30. It can be done at level 80 but usually requires a specialist gimmick build and before you have all your traits and skills unlocked many of those won't be available to you. Some of them are literally impossible to solo because they require two or more players doing different things at the same time to progress.

PvP or WvW on the other hand will give you more of a sense of how the game really works, because there everyone has all their skills and traits available and you need to combine them effectively to make a decent build, and work together with other players (although solo roaming in WvW is also an option).
