And re-using assets that people after 6 years haven't still  got (and never will) , is an  easyway to go

Then again Gen 2 weapons had a much lower percentage of players obtaining them compared to Gen 1, and anet is making a gen 3 now. I wonder if more folks will make those, time will tell!

Yes, but gen 2 legendaries are more loved as far as i can tell. The fact that less people have them is not really a problem. 🙂

Might i remind you that the fora do not represent the playerbase.

 

its not about liking eachother though, its about people quitting because they would feel looked down upon.

in this case no owset is better then the abomination you proposed.

It’s the mentality of some people to think everything evolves around them and they are better than others. So if they don’t like something they expect it to be changed so they are pleased. 
Instead of doing the same things others did to get legendary armor they come to the forum to complain.

Wich might be correlated. They are more expensive, more time consuming to carft, thus more rare and therefore carrying more "prestige".

Or you could read through this thread and find out that "spend time and put effort into getting it" point already has been disscussed instead of bashing the door with your "new" arguments.

What abomination ?

You are simply saying over and over again that they don't deserve Legendary Gear  .

I am telling them , that they have a choice:

a) Get the new-Legendary Skin (same as Raids) , but for every 2 pieces you get your trasmute cost , increase by +1

b) Do not get it .

c) Get it , and the long run if you hate the cost , upgrade it by getting the HoT raids/PvP/WvW or delete it .

Im telling you that it would be better to have a unique open world set.

And that your suggestion is worse then not having the ow set at all. Im not making claims about deserving things, its a stupid worth that is absolutely useless in this conversation.

It doesn't change the fact that you can still buy gen 1 weapons from TP, gen 2 not working the same way is out of matter, because QoL features are subject of discussion, not skins.

Sort of, the fact is that apperently they where unhappy with the gen 1 implimentation and for all later legendaries (not just weapons) the made their acquisition more restrictive.

Why do you think they would have done that?

actually is the opposite. it's not more restrictive. 

gen1 could be crafted only if u were that lucky to drop the precursor. otherwise it was just moeny farming.

 

so gen 2 added a precursor crafting.

 

but the events related to the crafting were considered too hard so 

 

2.5 just mats

The company should not waste resources on something new .

They ought to incentivize long term ROI .

And whats better , by re-suing asset's that most don't have and really want

And from that incentive , in the long run can offer them money

It is more restrictive in the sense that you can spend 200 bucks on gems and then just buy the gen 1 legendary instead of having to do a lot by yourself in game modes you may not enjoy for the gen 2 legendary.

more restricive because you can not jus buy them, you actually have to mapcomple hot for hope for examplr.

Ironically your post describes exactly the reason why ow-sets are a good thing. It's reusing the same assets that are already there (OW content) to get legendary items.

I wish anet gives an option to craft a legendary armor a generic one but not tied to any open world PvE achievements or events or npcs or wvw or pvp or raids.. provided there shd be no unique skin or collection involved and no lore involved (like the weapons we craft in mystic forge with mystic coins eg: courage) with just material sink.. so ppl who hate raids and would like to enjoy the QOL of legendary gear would get it... in the meanwhile if ppl who are willing to put that extra effort in raids to get the cool looking skin legy armor can do raids... and also ppl who already got raid armors might not feel like its a redundant waste of mat sink and bothersome legy journey to pursue just for a skin and lore reasons.(might feel incomplete if we own a legy armor already and we followed a ccollection or lore and stop it just before crafting a legy so no lore shd be involved no collection shd be involved for this generic legy armor).. its a win win for everyone... 

items to forge a legy armor piece:

  1. mystic tribute
  2. gift of maguuma mastery or desert mastery
  3. gift of living world currencies(eg: 250 of each lws currency)
  4. Ascended armor piece

Note:

anet can make adjustments based on how much mats shd be involved in each items ... like gift of maguma mastery could be an overkill or less.. they can adjust so dont get your feathers ruffled that i mentioned that item 2 in the list for an armor piece
