  1. I am disappoint it's a glorified Ele with Elemental having a skill bar...the riding the mech its self wouldve beeen soooooooo hypeeer taimiiiii...but yeah compared to other especs it's...ok?...dunno wont be playing it.
  2. No I am despair..I feel like im stuck with this game cause I cant find anything better...but the expac is negative hype to me.

This spec is the the most surprising to me because I felt like it actually tried to implement some controversial concepts instead of copy pasting in the most restrained of manners...although this still is copy paste but an interesting manner imo. My peeves though. The spam stickman effect with wells and shadowform is ugly ,stiff and not cool looking. Also the sudden I have all the saturated color fiasco is..kinda..like can you at least tone down the purples. The shadow form animations can the dash look cooler and not a prolonged dd dash...just the forms skills animation can look a little less boring and cooler imo (blue oversized claw swipe?). 100 posts mentioned the sceptres sounds are extremley unpleasant. I am not sure how I feel about the you have to target allies when the game doesn't innately make that easy but...I do feel the effects are strong enough to justify it so that's good. Also that it is a new way to play is good in my book. Building up shadowform feels..like is it practical in pvp not a hundred percent sure but this can easily be toned up and down. I am a little annoyed thief gets to give alac..like that talent could easily make chronomancer's useless your wells now just heal more relevant and it makes 10000% more sense chrono would have it but..got it you hate mesmers existence. Still really aggravating they even grant quickness with pistol 3 like?...ok??. Scepter/Pistol 3 being a weird copy paste of d/p p/d..is a little tacky but the effects are cool. Sceptre feels strong and cool on it's own something that I feel a lot of the other especs severely lacked the weapons felt like a "well I guess when you make a new espec you have to get a new weapon". But spectre overall imo is the most bold of all of the especs...it feels -a little- risky...it feels capable of being scary...it def tries to take the class in a totally different direction instead of copy/paste/delete was it worth it though? most of the other especs had. But it is really scourge extremley toned down in value in a way but in theory a lot more slippery and strong in the small scale scenarios a spooky ghost that you have to take down is cool I guess. I am not thief enough I am even wondering if it'll be so strong people will only want you to spectre as thief in pvp? Not sure.
  5. Ok...as a victim of trying out Catalyst...this spec is not that bad...(I feel like someone grateful for not sleeping on a bed of nails). My opinions. I really find the name "Untamed" even more offputting and nonsensical given that now you can control the pet's abilities more than all of Ranger's specs?? I hate the fungal thing animation..please taking druids spore and putting green slime ontop of it and copy pasting 6 times...I beg you reconsider just use some different mushrooms even I dunno :s. Unleashed - as many have mentioned the fact it's an only hammer mechanic is...meh but at this point to me the theme of the especs is meh so at least it's not plainly worse than playing other ranger specs. Hammer...it's a...ok weapon feels like a way to have a "second boring greatsword" meleeing weapon kinda of boring vibe nothing too exciting but has usefull skills I suppose. Again boring weapons have been consistent so far so (spectre is an exception I guess)....whatever. The fact that unleashed removes everything and gives you 5 buttons to do just damage...I mean..what can I say. Pets - now I am someone who actually really likes that I can control what/when skill should the pet use I feel in theory this will allow me to use a lot of different pets that their f2s were meh but they have some pretty good other skills that now can be a skill on my bar rather than who knows what is the pet doing. Unleashed pet - again mentioned by many..this whole all ofem regardless which species get weirdly generic abilities yet very "themed" (vines?? Green bubble?? Blinks??) Is...to me tacky..I mean you could've just morphed the pet to some nature entity when it is unleashed to make it less...I dunno flavorless maybe that entity is the "untamed spirit and soul of petonomia oooo spoooky". That way it'd also be more consistent predicting wheres the abilities going to land as pets behave differently but...moving on. The upet abilities..I mean...meh...and having to be disabled when it lands even more meh maybe if f2 had immobilize as well?. F3 being a straight up bubble is kinda tacky everyone gets a bubble with ur class color is tacky but useful so...moving on. Utilities First of all that the utilities have no pet unleashed/you unleashed anything unleashed..is...boring..nothing new here though. Zero stunbreaks..ow ok. Fungal knockdown- my main issue with this skill is the animation it's so ugly and tacky (green turds combine with muddy terrain for full rp). The fact that it does "nothing" unless you land all ofem is boring but at least it knocksdown..and the blink I guess helps landing it. The blink skill - I just feel it's tacky that everything gets a straight up blink/shadowstep and no flavor is put up to cover the fact it is the case...wish it just felt rangery untamey...unleashy...maybe animate it more or something anyways usefull so..I'll take it. It's also tacky to keep using the word tacky. Convert all conditions - decent...boring..but decent. Plant cage - aoe "cc". I dunno really. Elite..this elite makes Strength of the Pack feel like..lol...? Like if there was an unleashed vs...leashed this the leashed..I mean usefull and a seperate damage reduction modifier so...ok..but..the fact it feels so close to SotP..copy paste but again nothing new there especs wise. I agree that it should affect your pet. The heal...I really don't know how good is this we heal as one is pretty strong..50% pet health is strong..but costly..then this whole sudden I am grabbing my pet and using it as meat shield theme..I mean ok...I'll take it. The talents - tier 1 talents are too weak..1 condition?? 3 sec weakness?? Just a blind???. Ok. 3 sec 1 stab charge per cc?? I mean quickness...maybe but...stab?. 5 might is a joke why not alacrity 'haha'..you're giving it to every other class (that's another joke). Corrupting vine is ok..random necro theme..but...ok. Grandmasters all are cool I mean 1 ofem mesmer direct ripoff but k. Overall...it's a spec I see myself playing actually albeit I will feel like I'm not really...into it like that you know it's a bunch of skills/talents that fills certain needs but fantasy and theme wise feels lacking and incoherent??? It's a I wanna tankier ranger spec..k there you go I guess?. I'll take it (pathetic xD)...if I buy the expac that is lol.
  6. 10000% Exactly the new especs feel designed by someone who has little regard to class feel fantasy/existing game mechanics/creativity/exciting concepts if not intentionally denying these elements as they don't want to spend time balancing anything due to "new ideas". Then why are you making an expansion at all and creating things that cheapens the overall game feel is my question? The reason I think is ncsoft overlords think they know best and want to force an expac release to "compete" with other mmos. Why not let the more experienced handle it you say? They left after the mass exodus this company had all those pof hots people left. So I don't really want to direct any energy towards the current designers cause ncsoft is probably abusing that they are "new" or giving them no resources or whatever to save costs I think. But the audacity of them to force an expac after doing all that??? What I want to direct energy to is the playerbase who love to celebrate anything a brand does like a religion and a temple to the extent of just prepurchasing just because...but I have played enough games to know it's a losing battle can only help one's own decision...move on lol.

I don't think a delay will achieve what you are hoping for anyways..the industries just don't care for quality that much anymore it seems they know they can get away with much less and with no need to *innovate*..kitten if there are people who buy every new version of iphone do you really need to do much just make people pursue therapy through purchasing bs and talking about what they bought 😕.

I personally never preorder anything (extremley bizzare concept to me), however what I am doing is waiting to see what the expansion will be like then deciding...I know I won't be buying it for any of the especs which was the main motivator for me to buy the prior ones and the main reason I am not hyped at all for this one. Hoping they'll maybe work on them further after release or on release they'll be..."polished"?..I am stupid?? Yes. Don't care about fishing and the story/pve..frankly icebrood tasted kinda meh so I am not really optimistic and for some reason I stopped caring for the characters. Also the legendaries being a black lion looking set..and the replay the whole story for a distraction like?..I dunno. My impression so far...I am really contemplating finding another game to waste my time on instead..but luckily most mmos quality nowadays are -imo- not good anyways at least gw2 needs no sub and the old content is good and is always "relevant" so that may be the main motivator to play it anyway. Might just play it without the expac at all.

All I am hoping for is for the "edgy" name to not end up being pretentious and make sense to what the class gameplay actually is, but maybe the true edginess is to not care and just name anything whatever and give the pet AND the ranger a glorified sicem!!! Wooow...so edgy new and interesting I can't wait to try it..so fun! BTW: did they really just reuse seed of life with green gloop ontop of it??

Please watch PoFs presentations or even hots discussions and compare them to the EoD presentation...no disrespect is meant to anyone on a personal level but the EoD staff look waay too chill about being uncreative and copy pasting like it's so funny and cute. The minute I saw harbinger thief jump...I got iffy..then when I saw bladesworns artwork and tried out catalyst I fumed inside..not my GW2 please oh Lord. As crewthief already elaborated quite well all these fancy shmancy class names with no rhyme or reason was to me unbearably tacky and immediately made me remember ow yeah that mass lay off was no joke. Honestly I hate to say this but I would not be sad if EoD does not succeed because from the very beggining this game felt very amazing and for these people to fire staff that created this awesome original game for whatever number crunching they have in mind revolted me. It would be the artist winning over these mongrels who come in and tell you what you need to do and then milk your hard work through the reputation of the brand and not the quality of the work. People who defend everything..it's cool people did that when WoW's quality was deteriorating as well for the exact same reason the creative people left (blue blood elves was my ow hell no) now everyone memes about being a refuge...it is what it is 😞. Sad I usually start visiting a game's forum when I feel the game is dying and I need hope. -____- embrace despair.

I have experimented further and I am getting a much better feel for it knowing the fight and which cds to save for what is I think more crucial on it than the other three and as you guys said you end up not taking damage at all which feels very gewd :]..I am trolling a bit for now and using Valor instead of Radiance/Virtues and using mace that way I can fury through my heal/smite on my utility xD also communal defense feels good..I think? I love mace yo! That way I can make sure regen and prot are rolling and my auto attacks dont feel so useless and the 3 is pretty good. Also took the tip about f2 5 bow combo and spreading out my healing area cds thank you! This made me feel much less reliant on the other healer. I def feel fb feels...dirty like..it's really good is scary.
  13. @ Nash Yes I see I think I am super underestimating the only 5 players effect and took for granted the other 3 have a lot of 10 player effects. I agree aegis mechanic is super good in fights where you know where are the big hits are but I was spoiled with the other three that I can heal through "mistakes" (well to a limit of course)...just have to maybe accept full green bars is not the goal here xD. I will take your advice and be careful when is it ok to "blindly" pug "heal" with it.

I don't know how to quote..but ya don't get me wrong I completely agree with you OP I really wish they invested more into the fantasy of the specs especially since they were named with such 'exotic' names. Like reading your post was painful just because I was very disappointed how the especs turned out to be personally and just trying to accept it xD. I literally had to google the term virtuoso and was super psyched about what could that be in game..especially that trident mesmer 1 siren's call hinted a potential so I thought they are expanding on that. Then dagger was revealed I was like ok maybe it'll be a hype acrobatic performer flings daggers "thief but make it mesmer" how are they gonna make that vibe. But what I saw on the preview of it and the rest of the classes really completely turned me off personally it gave me WoW/ffxiv "pruning" flashbacks games that I left for that exact reason...I was like here we ago again at least gw2 needs no sub. But reading people finding virtuoso appealing I am like...maybe the target demographic they find more lucrative really do want things to be *that* way?

So I have been healing for a long time using druid/tempest/scourge for some reason I postponed trying hb (I think cause I hated the guardian character model I made) anyways I made one and umm... I am struggling a bit in burst heal situations (esp in squads) is that normal? Is it the least healing numbers out of them or am I playing it wrong...I feel with the three I mentioned I know exactly what to do to top people off...but with guard it all feels like heals over time all over the place that are...meh?...staff 4 is the burstiest and ofc f2 but it's long long cds lol. I have not tested mace yet is mace a big deal healing wise losing fury feels too painful. Obviously aegis/quickness/stab spam is quite the experience to be able to spam that stuff so things def die super faster and feels cool. Like is it the weakest to "solo heal" with I wanna make sure it's not just me? I ask cause I mainly pug and sometimes the other healer is not...doing it but I know what to do to amp heals with the other 3 but with guard I feel locked I cant burst as often is that normal what is your opinion what do you do if you need to be healzor on hb? Thanks.
  16. I think if the EoD is viewed as a forced project rather than dev motivated it'll all make sense..I also think too many of the staff have been replaced and are probably not as many and not as invested just salvaging whatever they can.

I wanted to play chrono to be *the* time wizard just to find out that it seems that I am the worse at buffing both alac and quickness clunky annoying just to find mirages spamming alacrity out of no where...like everyone but chrono is better and not clunky as hell at buffing and can do a gazillion other thing at the same time what is the logic????...mirage gets alacrity??? But why????? Where is the logic???? Its always hb and alacrens being asked for. Everytime I took a break and came back im like wow...my chrono is suckier why did I like it again? I still keep playing it though cause I love light classes 🤮).
  19. I think making us try these especs before baiting everyone with prepurchasing was a mistake..... I sympathise though..cause this expac is not a labor of love..it's ncsoft putting you guys through the meatgrinder.......🤮🤮.

I did not try virtuoso even though I play mesmer cause I was just disappointed watching the preview of it..I was hyped thinking it'll be a "performer" either acrobatic in someway or a singer given trident hints at that aspect just to find its a bunch of daggers over your head that flys off..thats it?? and boring utility/ult...however I don't agree that the other especs got good design. They all feel low effort and basic and randomly put together. They feel amateurish not designed by try hard creative rpg gamers unlike the previous expacs imo. Bladesworn is the "best" of them at least it introduces this whole charging my blade gameplay even then I truly dislike that it's such a direct (ugly) reference to ff gunbreaker mixed with omae wa meme..i mean ok "funny/fun" but very.....tacky if they stuck to just a cool classic samurai feel rather than tacky mish mash? The concepts are not executed in a way to feel like a complete fantasy rather they feel yup deadline is up there you go I am not paid enough for more. Happens to most mmos so..why not gw2 I guess.
  21. Not a warrior main...but I think if warriors get dual pistol that would be a cool overall bullet fiesta class. Being bound to play around the blade alone and no swap is boring a dual pistol with it is hype though especially that its animations are actually cool. That and can the handle of the sword not be so kitten long with the barrel being so thick then it's a katana the sword does not look cool to be stuck with it for the rest of your specced life.

Either full melee or fully ranged... honestly i thought the hammer 1 skills will have cool melee/ranged chain attacks or something it's so derpy right now and just make it easier for eles to play actual melee...that would be newish?? Maybe make the augment weapon utility baked into hammer skills (perhaps attach it to 5 or whatever variable skills) and new utility/ult/talent is about f5 doing variable actually exciting animated things. Tankiness vs damage that does not rely on spamming skills/interrupts mindlessly to keep them up??. This would celebrate hammer as the officially synergises with f5 weapon...while f5 being hype on its own if you wanna play with the other weapons. Maybe make hammer 2 whirling animation across the board with each ele being something cool and is the "heavy interruptable cast". Maybe make the skill 3 orbs cc oriented where if the enemy is hit by them they are chilled/crippled/blinded/whatever so the enemy knows you're engaging when they see them the range can be shorter for balance maybe. Maybe make 4 the defensive skill across the board with variablity how that works (kinda is right now but make them unique in flavor to hammer like air 4 is). Maybe for the 5 skill make them all slammo kabblammo crack the earth get hype element animation (explosion combo spam) with some being leaps or whatever varying effects utility? Integrate the "jade sphere" animation more to hammer/utility so that it doesn't feel so random ow jade sphere on f5 ok goodbye buddy..sell the lore. Maybe utility is sphere this sphere that. Tone down the aura this aura that trait theme - aura is an old mechanic celebrate the new aka augment/jade sphere/hammer. I think that would be new and an obvious way to play ele it would be a simpler iteration of ele after weaver's intensity but still possibly fun and exciting. Please Anet....reconsider all of the especs flavor spice them up T_T.

Nah I am sorry I really 🤨 mesmer/guard/necro specs and kept hoping their design is boring cause the classes already have too much they are sick of balancing them (which is lame way to design imo) but with catalyst??? Uh uh...expecting very little of the expac now. Catalyst is such a cool name but this gameplay is too brain dead and feels like someone wanted to throw the concept and go home it is not creative sorry I don't care if it benches a million. The e specs so far lack interesting new mechanics for how interestingly they are named...its all a bunch of remixes or even removal of mechanics all together...there you go press that "meme" button big damage/or whatever. None feel like a "vibe" fantasy wise. Tempest was already the "aura heavy" spec to repeat the concept is not interesting...unless multiple other things were introduced which that was the case with most especs. Pure stats is extremley lazy leave that to gear..or minor traits even. I suspect its pointless to suggest themes or that anything will be reworked...but if they like made it more about you summoning the f5 then your f5 does things for you that are animated in a cool way (ritualist vibe) that wouldve been perhaps interesting and a new vibe for ele not the current utility they are way too bland...it being just a glorified boon/field zone is way too boring for how animated the sprites are?. Hammer has a few cool spells then a bunch of extremley bland fillers..look at staff every single skill feels iconic and flavorful..hammer does not feel like that at all just a bunch of interesting random stuff (air tornado and push away and the orbs kind of?) which maybe was better of in one hand while you guys just amp f5 feel and concept. Alas...if all the especs have the same bland design my hopes for anything of the expac are abyssmal at this point. I squinted when I saw the artwork for gunbreaker extreme copycat..old armor?? with bullets around the wrist???...how would you not feel embarrassed using that?? Was it designed by someone new who doesnt understand how basic that armor set is...ok I need to cool off lol.
