  1. Yeah, I'm with you on this, but it's extremely unlikely to happen in this game. Especially after nearly 10 years and so many other things the studio has on its to-do list.
  2. The above post should be enshrined somewhere.
  3. Feedback? Hahahahahahaha ... (deep breath - in, and out) Ah, just no. Not here in the warrior forums, anyway. "A waste of time" is a gross understatement. Well, ok, one small, inconsequential bit: my Warrior deleted until such time the studio decides, if ever, to make the class whole and viable compared to its peers. Until such time, adios, mis amigos
  4. /Sigh ... It really isn't the kitten rifle; rifle is certainly better now, but not the root of what we're all (yeah, all - by those of all viewpoints) seeing. If something like this happens, don't you bring up the patch notes, and really take your time and carefully read them? And once read, see the new changes and synergies that exist? And lastly, if you're actually trying out rifle Mech, consider loading up arcdps or even just opening up the in-game combat text log. It should become very apparent, very quickly, where the damage is coming from. The only thing "OP" about the rifle is range. And it only has that because, gee, I don't know, it's a freaking rifle.
  5. Dude, they know why this sucks; this, and almost everything that has come before is purposeful. Intentional. Out of spite. Pick your poison, but it's all going to hurt. The only thing that's going to change this paradigm is if these same devs are forced to play warrior & elites in all modes - sans dev tools - until they themselves beg for changes. And really, who's gonna make them do that?
  6. I think CmC should be that dev, and once 80, built & geared, send him off to do some WvW/PvP. Make sure there are plenty of Necros and Guards of all stripes (which should be a given along with all the other regulars), and see what changes start dropping in the 6 months following.
  7. I guess I question if he's much more than a mouthpiece, the "messenger-to-be-shot" as it were. Being the FNG and all. That being (negatively) said, I do have hope that your, and others like oscuro, positivity bears fruit.
  8. I love how that one is voiced, along with most things there. And yet I have only one Asuran character that I rarely play, and spend far more time in the Black Citadel.
  9. I wish I shared your sense of optimism, as I really do miss playing my first main ... Then I think how this same studio has treated the Mesmer class as a whole, and buried Chrone with a pile-driver in particular. Fingers crossed you're the correct one here.
  10. It's the forum filter word for objectionable language. Not perfect, but it mostly does what it was created to do. Some posters will type in the word themselves; I think to avoid bans or other forum "vacations".
  11. This really sums it up. PvP balance in any mmo I've played is where the real fantasy lies. Even the mmo with the best PvP ever, DAoC (imo of course), went through periods of utterly toxic garbage balance. For many reasons, balance in competitive modes is out of reach. And beyond lip service, they really don't care that much.
  12. Thing to keep in mind is that with a ~30% chance to drop, there's a ~70% chance it won't drop. And that's for every individual map you do. Even if a player did every key-dropping map in the game in a single day, each of those maps have the same 30/70 chance to drop a key upon completion. That ratio on each map doesn't change regardless of the number of maps completed. Anecdotally, taking the 3 members of my home that play the game shows how widely one's luck can vary: My wife sits right about at that wiki statistic of 30/70. My daughter on the other hand, seems to hit about 75/25 ... so rather obviously loves doing map completion. And then me; I want to say it's better than 10%, but not close to 20%. So not such a fan of map completion
  13. Likely one of the clearest ways of looking at the situation. Though I can envision the roots of part of that this way ... Newbie intern enters a small, unkempt room for their dev training module. Longtime Dev: Hey, glad you made it. You're about to learn maybe one of the most important things here at Anet concerning dev work. NI: Oh, sweet! Combat systems? Bug fixing? Competitive modes?! LD: Intuitive - I like it. This concerns all that, but mostly that last item. Come here and take a gander while I work. NI walks behind LD, and watches as LD seems to be feverishly rewriting code as he watches what is obviously some sort of player vs. player combat. After viewing for several moments, NI realizes the big guy with a couple of melee weapons is wrecking the other guy flailing around with a sparkly-looking staff. NI: Who's that guy? LD: Which one? NI: The big one who's obviously winning. LD: THAT, my young apprentice, is Jack, and it is our job to make sure he becomes "The Master of None" forever hereafter. NI: Oh ... so a jack-of-all-trades type. LD: Hah! But no, just a master of none; accomplish this, and we've squashed one of the greatest bugs to make it into the game. NI: (Envisions a glorious career of cruel and arbitrary nerfs unfolding before them ...)
  14. And Willbender is one I've set aside as it's just so outta whack with reality. I actually do hope it gets some (deserved imo) nerfs so that I can play it guilt-free. First time I've enjoyed a Guardian of any kind, and I just really dig the name and look I came up with for him. That said, I can easily see using the delete button in the near future, for reasons as you describe or they go hog wild on a blue flame spec for the first time. Mesmer though ... It's hard not to be pessimistic about anything Anet might do. My first 80 and main was a Chrono; then after a period of mourning, Mirage came to the fore for me. And now it's mostly Virtuoso when I need my mesmer fix, despite the one-dimensional nature and overall simplicity of the new elite. I just have fun blowing kitten up with it. And of course that can't last
  15. I've stated before that I personally have little to no interest in support Warrior, but if such a spec is to become reality then so much the above. Sad thing is, you can just about say something like this for any Warrior spec in any role and/or mode game-wide.
  16. Just for accuracy's sake, Druid(Ranger) will provide alacrity; Warriors will be the new quickness providers.
  17. Hmm, the history of the class being what it is, you could very well be on the right track. Which would suck. There are class/specs/builds I'm already not playing as I expect nerfs or outright gutting. Wouldn't want to get too used to having some fun, now would we? As for copium, I'd be ecstatic if they just leave Mesmer alone, and do nothing . Seems the safest option.
  18. I make decent use of the GS & LB ambushes. Just one of the things that make Untamed my favorite core build
  19. Indeed ... You do you, pal.
  20. GW2 is full of such skills across many classes. While I agree that's not really a good thing, overloaded skills are part of the reality of the game's development. And as I am a user of Rampage, it's hard for me to begrudge the Warrior class such a skill. Especially in light of the class's other skills, both weapon and utility. And again, Rampage's saturated quality can be found throughout the game; if it gets removed, so it goes for every other such skill in GW2? And one other question: what would Rampage be replaced with, keeping in mind Anet's development habits? And in particular with said studio's history with this particular class?
  21. You want something removed because "you don't like it", though obviously others don't mind it, or even truly enjoy the skill ... And then attack his arrogance. All righty then. As to the discussion of Rampage, well, I'm biased since I run it in all builds other than Berserker where I run Headbutt 99% of the time. That other 1% ? Rampage. Even with its cooldown, I feel I get a much greater ROI than from something like Signet of Rage for example. But, good luck with your crusade I suppose. Who knows, maybe we'd all get something better out of its removal - if small miracles do truly happen
  22. First off, I'll readily admit to enjoying ranger and all 3 of its especs. But to keep it challenging in light of what one goes through when playing any warrior spec, I'm playing various Untamed builds and power Druid. The experience, even with specifically avoiding Soulbeast, is such a stark contrast with Warrior. Weapon, and especially utility skills, feel impactful. While not nearly perfect, Ranger trait lines might as well be compared to their Warrior counterparts. I could make a decent sized list just with these 2 classes, never mind the bulk of the rest. As to the new Willbender, the class created from Warrior sub-forum ideas and suggestions, I stopped playing mine almost entirely. It really is that ridiculous. I currently use mine for one thing: the giant slayer achievement. Easily negates every annoying thing those mobs do while performing the hot-knife-through-butter routine. I have like a hundred or so to go; not sure what I'll do with it after that. Maybe go back to having no Guardian of any flavor in my line-up again. Oh, and lastly, I did say any Warrior spec earlier. I guess that doesn't include BSW, at least for me. I found so very little to enjoy in that espec that I don't/won't consider it until such time the devs rework it. If such a possibility even exists.
  23. Lol, that explains so much ... And tells me I was more correct than I knew for once
  24. Does CmC still have a hand in class development, and remain in charge of competitive mode balance and development? Yes? Then embrace realism, and hope the nerfs aren't overly severe. I swear that guy was being absolutely wrecked by warriors at one time and has a #NeverForget mentality.
