  1. Condi Vindicator Power Untamed/condi Druid Axe Mirage
  2. I only know that at this point that I still have a warrior as I will always love a melee brawler ... But not because I can't do that (or anything else a warrior can do) better with another class. If that tells you anything.
  3. That I only have one +1 to give ... So well said.
  4. A massive Charr axe Mirage in the Knight Mage outfit ... Never dull to watch that fellow spinning about with what looks to be a sombrero on his head
  5. Great post, OP. And just one of many reasons my engineer - in all his specs - now sits unused on the back burner.
  6. Enjoy the buffed damage while it lasts, as it likely will not. As for the mechanics, sword has always had, and continues to have, its pros and cons.
  7. My least favorite weapon on every class that can use it ... even when it's the best choice Maybe Rev scepter will surprise, or rather, shock me. Not holding my breath, however.
  8. EoD was seemingly built upon the idea of acquiring many, many skins of various new items. Skins through collections? EoD has you covered. Want those skins quick and easy? Oh yes, EoD and the Gem Store can scratch that itch for you. Content outside that? Meh when at its absolute best. An insipid story, with Canthan characters that sound as if they were pulled from SoCal shopping malls and poorly written TV shows. Considering the parameters the world artists were obviously given, they did their usual outstanding job. But said world/maps are overall the worst looking in GW2. Saitung: fluorescent, Technicolor green that is in no way natural looking. New Kaineng: a futuristic, cyberpunk themed (and way, way too much verticality) Hong Kong ... without the bustling citizenry. Or considering its size, almost devoid of population. Echovald Forest: an oversized Gothic themed region; the stage for a ... gang war? Really? Dragon's End: just an ugly mess outside a narrow strip at the top of the map. One bonus point here for having the only decent meta in EoD. But just decent as the pre-events are far too long. The follow up Gyala Delve "story" was even worse. With all that in mind, there is no way in hell I'll pre-order SotO, or even purchase it at launch. There is older content I still enjoy a lot, so I continue playing a few hours a few days a week, but Anet has a long road to travel before I spend real life currency on their products again.
  9. Did you actually read the full OP? And understand exactly what type/level character he is playing? I'm not saying other players of any/higher levels do not have a right to be there, but c'mon , man.
  10. What it all boils down to ... The creators neither understand their creation, nor do they play it. The player base - outside of what I've observed to be a relatively small minority - does not understand the class. And out of those who do give the mesmer & elites a go, few will do so in all game modes. Good mesmers, those played by dedicated players, do stand out ... And are feared and loathed for gameplay the vast majority of the player base - and the devs themselves - are unwilling to take the time to learn and understand. Just easier to decry the unfairness of it all, and "keep the class in check" with regular use of the nerf bat. Until the above climate changes, we really can't expect anything consistent for the class. Particularly not anything good.
  11. No, that's just Pistol and Photon Forge "weapon" skills of which some have sword-type animations. The changes occur when he drops in and out of Photon Forge.
  12. I'm fairly certain my own feelings about EoD could not be put any better. A ginormous +1 and more to you, sir.
  13. For the "normies"? /snorts with laughter It's been obvious forever that even the devs do not understand their creation. Anything beyond knee-jerk reactions and thrown-wildly-at-the-dartboard changes is too much to ask of the dev team and the player base at large.
  14. Condi mech is fine, other than the fact it's not fun to play. Imo anyway. As to the initial point, I agree with Alcatraznc; though I remember a pistol/x (he used shield or pistol depending on match-up) condi holo who was very solid a year or so ago. So it may still be viable for a good player to make it work.
  15. There's an old saying ... "Back to the drawing board". EoD/Cantha was, and is, (IMO anyway) a great deal of resources spent to sell gem store items. Such things do appeal to a lot of people; and to others, not so much.
  16. Sign in maybe 1 or 2 times a week, and perhaps do dailies. More likely to just collect the log-in rewards, and sign off. I don't enjoy EoD, so for me the game has begun to feel stale. So stale in fact that at this point I have little interest in a road map, either. I'll continue to check the forums for news every so often, but speaking for myself GW2 is very much on the back burner 😞
  17. I'm just never going to understand the appeal of stuff like this ... And there are games out there - including MMOS - which have playable races that would have this already built in. So with all that said, I hope Anet applies the resources elsewhere. Sorry 🙁
  18. Well, you certainly know how to "double-down" as it were. I leave you to your righteous indignation 🙄
  19. My goodness, that is one big horse you're on. Percheron? Clydesdale? Or perhaps a real giant like a Shire? In all seriousness, I'm a bit disturbed that anyone would address any of their fellow players in such derogatory terms when, as should be obvious, the bulk of the people playing are here for some casual fun. The arrogance in your post is unwelcome - and ugly.
  20. Man ... You know it: most anyone marginally familiar with the in-game history of the class knows it; and I certainly know it: this isn't going to happen. Not in any impactful, lasting way. Yeah, I mean, I made another warrior. And some of those new changes are for the better. But all of it still leaves warrior way behind any other class/spec that can do the same job so much better. This isn't a "money-maker" class (as evidenced by how quickly BSW was gutted of its gimmicks); it's simply not going to get the aid & love you want, and which it deserves to get. Because Anet knows they can't outright delete the class, so they do just enough to appease the rabble, get the majority to quiet down, and get back to what matters. And what matters, apparently, are elvish ears and cat chairs. So in summation: oh yeah, you go, Warriors 😑
  21. And most are also aware that this is unlikely the last nerf; in the long term, little will remain of the current Mechanist. I would think even rifle will be gutted to be little more than the stat stick with a bit of cc and mobility it once was. When that happens, maybe the frothing will end. In addition, I'd speculate the support builds will feel more swings of the nerf bat as well. To be frank, I'd advise if you like Engineer to start getting cozy with the other elites, or even core. Despite the lingering hate among a certain percentage of the population, such builds are relatively "nerf-safe", beyond Anet's ineptitude that is.
  22. Masteries? Heh ... Masteries that are just fluff; busy work/play in a content lacking expansion. Good for selling skins, though, I'd imagine. No statistics to back up that assumption, but honestly I'm pretty much past the point of caring about EoD. Haven't been there in months 😒
  23. Perhaps Anet should seriously consider an actual Fashion Wars game, and save the eyesight and sanity of those of us who play for more ... "mundane" reasons 🤔
