  1. I honestly believe it's because the meta achievement and a mastery point. The lock of a "Strike" mastery line, makes some players feel they need it for world content.
  2. My list:1.) Time Commitment2.) Organized Groups (Not easiest thing to pug)3.) Lack of Scaling Difficulty (LFR) If you could que with/without a group, get ported in once the group is finished, and there was scaling difficulty. More people would do it. Honestly they should scratch the Strike Hub and do the same. Might as well do it for fractals and dungeons.
  3. New Lounge Passes.1.) Path of Fire -> Big difference is you port to the Path of Fire City equivalents. Dungeon access.2.) Heart of Thorns -> Big difference is you port to the Heart of Thorns City equivalents. Raid access.
  4. Easy.. . You Que for a dungeon.40% more health40% more dps40% more healing received You should have no problem healing yourself or getting a few AOE heals from the group to be able to handle any dungeon. Maybe add 20% damage reduction to if you need to. Those numbers are extremely unrealistic. Why not just make it so when you enter, all the bosses just die instantly? That's taking "challenging group content (Arenanet's purposeful design)" and turning it into a joke simply because some people can't be bothered to better themselves. Even WoW's dungeon queue only added 5% - 15% to the things you're describing and that already turns the dungeons into a walking simulator. Percentages can easily be adjusted. Guild Wars 2 does not have a dedicated trinity, so I believe the numbers need to be slightly higher. That was just an example on the top of my head.
  5. i had been core s/s & s/p from beta till HoT. Then I was chrono s/s & s/p until the release of PoF. Since PoF I've kept the same exact weapon set up as a mirage. And it is definitely not the same. The playstyle of sword mirage vs sword core mesmer is drastically different. I'd actually say sword mirage is very much like Sword thief. Uber mobility and access to shadowstep utility, teleports, and a flip backwards. Definitely a HUGE difference. If you're a ranged player, I guess you wouldn't be taking advtange of all mirage's mobility so it would feel the same. But in my hands the core vs mirage is like night and day. I mean you can, but if all you want to do is to spew out dmg it’s all still the same. This is an area that needs fixing (pmirage gameplay needs to be unique). As it currently stands, all pve power mesmer builds follow the phantspam > aa formula (for dps). This is simply not true. There are 4 professions with a spec above 38K right now. Necro does fit the under 32k you mentioned. What is true, you took my comment out from it’s original context and put it into your own, ofc it’s not gonna be true. Why did you have to bring up reaper, the point of comparison is 40k raid pchrono vs 31k not-raid pchrono. It’s the same as making dread more accessible and then voila, 38k raid reaper, idc anymore about the 31k not-raid reaper (it can stay trash cuz ‘we balance only around raids’). And then mentioning cscourge who is left behind at 29k.English is not my first language. I had to read the original post multiple times now to understand what you meant. Just be grateful the profession has a top tier spec. Greatsword isn't even that far behind.

  7. We have people justifying things being OP and do not believe in standardized benchmarks. Things continually get worse. The spread keeps growing every patch with Necro on bottom in standardized benchmarks.
  8. Looking For Group raiding was the best thing that happened to WOW in ages. It is what this game needs. An easier casual version of raiding where people can experience some great content for the first time. You que for a group and when it's full you are ported in. The bigger question is does GW2 have the player base to support such a system. Honestly, I would love Dungeon Finder too. Dungeons are a pain in the neck to do in their current state. Maybe give a 10% DPS/Health/Healing buff for every player not in your party and call it a day.
  9. As a hardcore raider, I strongly disagree with this statement. There should be a balance with all buffs. Nothing justifies a class doing 2/3 the damage of another. Also min/max Guardian is easier than Necro. The sustain argument is completely false in raids. then let everyone hold M1 for exact 35k dps and call it a day. Why can't everyone just have withing 2k Max DPS for each profession with all buffs. That's all I'm asking for everyone to be end game viable. I can justify Necro having 2k less. 9k is a different story and why I am here. The difference has become to much over time. I just happened to like Mesmer way more than Guardian. Which is why I converted to Mesmer for raids. depends how you look at it, TBH 20k dps is good enough to finish raid if nobody wipes.Reaper gets its DPS with low effort, it just holds M1 for the most part and breezes through dps. I dont think I have ever seen reaper do less then 15k, but oh boy have I seen some kitten chronomancers.Harder to play specs should be rewarded. if chrono and necro had the same dps nobody would have a reason to play chrono, becouse necro is both easier and safer ( more HP + shroud )I know necro aint the best but I STILL see full scourge raids. Is it becouse their dps is amazing? no its becouse they vomit shields so you can ignore mechanics and do the raids low effort. All successful raiding MMO's balance the glass DPS regardless of the how easy it is to play based on full buffs. Also 20k DPS is low for anything...
  10. I switched to Mesmer for raids. I am sorry but Mesmser and Gaurdian DPS is just to great. Their sustain is also better in a raid environment. Shroud becomes problematic for healing as it is. I can easily do 5K more DPS on Guradian/Mesmer without having mastered the classes. It is that bad. After a week, I'm averaging about 6K more on my Memser in raid fights. I was also pushing the limits of Reaper as it was. I still play Necro for Strike missions. They are much more forgiving, and the DPS doesn't matter as much. A decent Reaper will be fine.If you play your class well, you should be fine for T4. Just be prepared to get some flack for it. Some people will even compliment you when you do well because a lot of Necro's are not good at managing there lifeforce and properly timing there abilities. Raids are where I draw the line.

  13. I would do more Path of Fire events if I had a portal. I would also support arena.net store by buying the portal. I believe it would help the Path of Fire meta as well.

  15. I have recently been playing with it. I know it competes with Death Perception, but having Life Force running from mob to mob is always nice. The little bit of protection is nice as well. I am finding it a nice alternative to Minion Masters for open world PVE. I do not believe it's viable for endgame Fractals/Raids. It could be sufficient for Strike missions if you need more... I do not see anyone else using it in open world PVE, which makes me question my own experience.
  16. On the flip side, as a raider your not going to get me to repeat Stike Missions. Mission accomplished or a stike?
  17. You might be waiting a while. It was just available during the last Black Lions Chest Set for 60 statues. It will never be available to the Gem Store since it was a Black Lions Chest exclusive.
  18. It simply is not fun to know your not competitive in Strike Missions, Raids, or Fractals. Since they are creating more Fractals and Strike Missions. This content needs to be balanced.
  19. End game content should be kept with the players that do the content. There needs to be at least one spec viable in an organized group of players who play the profession properly.
  20. Please either nerf the top performing professions (this would include Guardians even if they are not the top offender) or buff the lower end. The DPS spread between professions keeps getting bigger. Every profession should be viable for end game content. When certain professions are only doing 3/4's of the damage in their top DPS spec...they are not viable.
  21. I believe they will want to keep there gem passes relevant. If they add everything to this, the gem passes lose value. Honestly, without a portal... I will keep using Myst or Bastion. Note: As a reminder, we have anvils in the strike missions. This might be an oversight, but I hardly see it as a problem. Add the portal scroll and I would be happy.
  22. We are way overdue for new Skyscale mounts. We now have Starlight everything including outfits and backpacks. Please include the Starlight Skyscale in the next patch to complete the set. It's a glaring omission currently. I also want to quote my previous idea. Note that a lot of us are wanting dye-able scaled dragon wings. Please see my Dye-able Backpack Upgrade idea. This would allow you to profit on the work required for the update. Please upgrade shared inventory spaces to 32 slots. This is a quick way to make money. Right now I find it visually unpleasant to have mix-matched rows of inventory slots.
  23. Meanwhile in the Necro thread... Where did the Reapers go?Summary: They are bad, play something else.
  24. I hate to be that guy; however, if that's the case you might be terrible at the other classes. We have two classes doing 9k more damage then the Reaper is capable of doing in fractals/raids after the last "balance patch". I (a necro loyalist) was finally forced to switch classes for raiding. The difference is just to big at the moment, this difference was enough for me to change. The said thing is when I switched, I realized both of these classes have better survive-ability in raids to. Well in theory necro (reaper) is able to reach higher number due to the dread trait. However, in practice it's nowhere near possible to have perma fear on a boss even if you drop soulbarbs for fear of death which makes you drop a 10% modifier, to get better access to a 33% modifier. It's comparable to the danger time trait of chronos. With the difference, that Chrono actually has a way to get good slow uptime. Reaper doesnt have a lot of fear uptime. We have:Reaper shroud 3: maximum of 2 seconds of fear and with alacrity 19 seconds cooldown (I know it gets reduced by autoattacking in shroud)Staff 5: maximum of 2 seconds of fear, with alacrity 24 seconds cooldownSpectral ring: maximum of 2 seconds of fear, with alac it's 30 seconds cooldown. But also has a downside. The enemy/boss needs to walk through it to trigger the fear. So basically it's just reaper shroud 3 and staff 5.In order to have a near permanent uptime: To make this easier I'll not use actual numbers but make both 20 seconds cd.So:In one minute, you are able to use both of them ~3 times. That's 3times x 2 skills x 2seconds fear = 12 seconds of fear. So you'd have to use 5 reapers to reach an almost permanent uptime of fear. But that's calculated too favourable. So theoretically it is possible. Now find a rotation that lets you use both skills on cooldown. Which might be possible. But you loose another dmg source in form of axe 2. So in order to make this work, we'd loose:10% dmg from soulbarbsaxe 2 as damage sourcepower from might (awaken the pain) So overall this won't be a 33% dmg buff, just a 10-15% if you keep in mind what we're loosing, which would make reaper a 35k dps spec, max. Which sounds fine first, but if you look at the condition to reach that number (no pun intended) that's not really worth it and way too low compared to other classes with similar conditions. My problem is currently I reach 31k some fights in raids. On mesmer I almost reach 40k while beneffiting the group more and surprisingly having better survivability in raids. I think anything withing a 3.5k difference is acceptable. Sigh... I appreciate the theory crafting. I believe we need a greatsword out of shroud damage buff.
