  1. ye sure, thief being the worst to catch ofc, and obv rangers are quite mobile, even eles have decent escape, i guess it depends where u fight them, and how good they are ofc, los is a powerful tool at your disposal, so u maybe wanna head in those directions, and the leap on demon very useful to ya to. but ye i agree with what ya said, gotta remember some ppl build to be exactly that... uncatchable, able to get away if needed..
  2. may i ask why? why u care i mean, because u realise it means nothin right? (no prize, no legitimate claim to be the best server, nothin.) doesnt mean ur server is the best, because if u win ur matchup its because u had more players, or u pptd in the off hours whith no resistance, and to top it off ur server is linked with another server..or even 2 servers, so it could just be down to those servers why u won, and in a few weeks you will get another link thatl maybe have less players or less ppters. and why is hitting a gate or a wall and then fighting npcs over and over any fun, or flipping camps over and over etc... i can only do it for so long and if it brings no enemys il probably logout..just curious.... I can't explain (especially in english), for me it's like asking why do you like more yellow than blue.good answer, and the right answer...because it is indeed , unexplainable :)

  4. a good ranger maybe...ye, but there aint many of those about. id say stunlock the best option, thats a condi revs downfall, and a good thief, lets face it a really good player on whichever class will still take out ur average condi rev..
  5. only time i cared bout score was the first 2 years or so, when server pride was a thing, even then i wasnt overly fussed, but i would check the score and it felt like i could contribute or not to help my server.but ever since i never even look at the score, then linkings came along and theres absolutely no reason to bother, infact wvw seems meaningless in that regard, and pretty meaningless overall.the combat system, fighting either as solo or small group is the only thing wvw has going for it. (to me)
  6. this is about as frustrating as i feel tbh, the mode has gone in a stupid direction since hot release,,with all the gimmicks and the so called updates. you are wasting ur breath trying to talk reason to ppl who feel entitled to rely on cheesy game mechanics like the ones that come with mount, or dragon banners, or any and all tactivators, launchpads and shrine owls, cars and spaceships, stealth fountains, ( just typing some of these i cant believe what wvw actually has evolved into, its actually ridiculous) One thing i do know though, is everyone on this forum , including me, is wasting their time, period, trying to convince others, or anet because they all have their own agenda. We all just waiting for the next "thing" to come along, be it... alliances...or a portable supply depot, or nerf to our friend henry the veteran worm because its too tall and asurans can only land ankle shots... nothing would surprise me tbh. (actually i lie, alliances would surprise me)

  9. you have a point.... but why stop there... lets have a tactic u can put into keeps that spawns tequatl to defend it... u pull tactic and bamm..there is tequatl (or any other world boss) and they will help the defending team bash that pesky enemy zerg that keeps trying to take ur stuff.. i mean, the more pve stuff we can get into the mode the better.

  11. i learned a long long time ago to never play on resets.. being uk and born on euro server, going to na server was the best choice i ever made..not for any other reason than lag and queues... not being one to like playing in zergs its suited me great.. i still have alts on some eu servers and every now and then il check out a reset..or just what its like on eu at any given moment... and hittting a reset or near prime time is even worse than it was a few year back.... the game mode in general is worse... but for some reason (probably the combat) im still playing.... best thing to do is take a break completely from the game every now n then.
  12. test and see...adjust if ya like to ur preference... the build i posted is for solo and can solo anythin in wvw,all the towers,keeps, everythin..and will kill 90% of what u meet in wvw, it lacks mad dmg ofc, is purely for sustain, which means u will stalemate some 1v1s etc.. and ofc the top duelists will most likely kill u... but it is what it is... a very good solo build for wvw. im not actually runnin ranger much these days... ive always been one to run every class i can... and its the only thing keeping my interest being able to swap around and try shit out.... rev or ele is my rotation at the moment..with a touch of burn dh thrown in...

Because when you have two people like the OP mentions, you can only dismount one, while the other mounted person gets free impossible-to-outrun movespeed, several thousand free bonus health, and a free nuke/instant stomp. Without playing shortbow thief you just can't keep up. It's literally impossible. So person 1 waits on the mount while person 2 fights, if things get bad person presses mount stomp and engages with a 4-6k damage skill and fights to let the other disengage and get OOC. Now person 2 repeats this process because if you get so much as crippled, the guy who disengages can't be CC'ed or controlled since mounts ignore all CC and control effects. Mounts absolutely destroyed small-scale on every single front and will keep it suppressed until they have zero in-combat advantages and basically act as free swiftness. So yeah, people are still complaining. They only benefit omniblob/ktraining and actively directly counteract any incentives to play in small groups. It's like asking why people complain about balance and profession design. Just because it's in the game doesn't mean it's good. perfectly said, every other person that asks "why are ppl still complaining about mounts" can be directed to this, altho i doubt theyl get it since they seem stuck in their own universe of "ooo mounts are great" "wow new skin for my mount, shiny" Well, that's odd. I'm strictly a roamer. I run solo or with a friend. And I pretty much hated WvW until the warclaw because I hate zerg play and can't stand running around on foot for 20 minutes looking for a fight! The warclaw, as pretty as its skins may be, makes WvW tolerable for roamers like myself because it greatly reduces the amount of time spent walking around! Also, you can see my reply to that "perfectly said" post. It's just nonsense.reading ur posts seems like ur argument is purely based on getting around, which i dont mind , especially since they nerfed the speed of mounts, if u could only understand its the other stuff that comes with mounts - hp - mount stomp and damage..... from what you yourself said in your own posts, you want mount for getting around, and thats all mounts should be.... this is fine with me. I want the other shit took away, plz understand this.

  17. i like this idea... remove all boon sharing from skills on your bar, and make it so the only boons to be shared would be those coming from things like area skills in combo, so ele water field blasts etc , this way groups would have to work together to get a heal... (shared regen) etc etc. so in effect solo skills would only affect yourself, but as a group things would need coordination.

  19. this would be the way to go, or failing that just remove all tactics tbh... none of it was ever needed, its always been about numbers of attackers vs defenders... tactics are just a gimmick. blood-lust is the same, kinda pointless... the only thing i could think of to make this more relevant would be to have some kind of dueling system, think queens gauntlet... so anyone who wanted to duel 1v1 could enter one of the blood-lust cages? (instead of ruins) and fight over the next 2 minutes of blood-lust buff... or something like that, could solve problems of duels being interrupted at south sentry or wherever they are dueling at the moment.. and would make it more interesting than standing on a node or 3 in total boredom.
  20. so u need 60 ppl to step onto an enemy bl or its suicide.... hmmmm thats actually funny..... more attacks on your bl makes ppl login to defend....... hmmmmm ye i see a bat symbol in the sky outside my house and know its time to login coz my garris gettin attacked.. haha. wvw need more groups........... hmmmm id agree with needing more players whether they group up or not... roamers can defend against orginised groups? hmmm.... maybe sometimes, but if they are really orginised...no... problem is most groups are not orginised..at all , someone simply tagging up and gathering some players together does not make it an orginised group/ roamers are lazy? they will bring proper classes if they fail too much at defending? hmmmm you dont seem to understand much about wvw, and your version of wvw would be one big karma train. everyone should try roaming solo to learn their class and to be useful when there is no com to rely on. not that anyone should rely on a com for anything.
  21. the only thing stopping me salvaging the ascended sets is then il have to remember to take my leggy sets off after use, to then swap to other chars, all the swappin around i could do without tbh, which kinda takes away the point of making leggy sets in one way - ofc stat swapping is the one benefit left.and yes if wed known legendary was going to be a thing, i think alot of ppl wouldnt have made any, or as many ascended sets.
  22. around 16 sets of ascended gear + 2 legendary sets , working on last legendary set for "light classes" then debating whether to salvage all the ascended sets, hmm
