  1. Free teleports (stuff like Blink, Shadowstep, Lightning Flash) already require LoS. The ones which don't require LoS are targeted teleports (Judge's Intervention, Phase Traversal, Infiltrator's Strike), and it makes sense since they are already limited in scope.
  2. every time you die to a virtuoso game should ban you for 24h so you think about what you've just done. Yes, power virtuoso is a decent counter for DH ("decent" as in, the main defensive are blocks of questionable value when half of the toolkit of a dh is unblokable). You know what hard counters a virtuoso? A kittening rock. You don't take a virtuoso into a fight where a dh exists; you are useless against everything else, and the one guy you actually counter can literally just sit beside a rock and ignore you, and there's literally nothing you can do about it. As for spellbreaker, good luck using melee skills against a class with 1500 range and pulsing AoE denial. I don't think DH is OP or anything, but don't act as if it had any natural predators, it has none. It has all decent matchups and bad (but very situational) ones.
  3. Truth be told, The Keenest Cut is the coolest specialization weapon ever.
  4. We mesmers aren't the sharpest tool in the shed, but just give us a little bit of time to figure out what relic of the demon queen does
  5. You seem to really be unable to understand that nades shouldn't hit this hard AT ALL, which wasn't the point of this thread but since you're asking...
  6. Let hammer guardians enjoy something for once You fellow engineers need a reality check about the bs grenade kit allows you to get away with
  7. No build in this game has ever been as mechanically based as staff\gs mesmer.
  8. Just so we're clear, how many instant condi remove do you think people usually get?
  9. For rangers there's nothing you can do if they run the bubble, everything you do is projectile oriented. For DE you can't do anything too, since they can disengage at will and you won't land any rupt against them. For holosmiths however you can wait their blocks with stealth (which is also useful in pretty much any situation when you need to reposition), so that's what I'd take, either decoy or signet of midnight.
  10. with dagger ambush you land plenty of interrupts already. You can allow yourself some self-survivability, the mantra becomes very redundant at that point.
  11. I love you all as friends and -truely- as brothers in the eyes of our allmighty Lord, but I think this whole rageposting meme every time someone clicks a skill has aged way past its prime, and now it's just straight up boring.
  12. Hi, I'm your daily reality check I'm here to remind you that scrapper with grenades is currently meta in high level gameplay, thanks to its very good stunbreaks on affordable cooldowns (Bypass Coating, Slick Shoes) and one of them is also an excellent setup for further bursts, it has stealth and superspeed, insane AoE damage (Grenade Barrage with Explosive Entrance can quite literally oneshot several people at once), and hammer provides mobility and damage, on top of some decent defensives in the form of blocks\projectile reflects\evades. You are probably playing it in the wrong way, as a bruiser, when this current iteration excels as a ROAMER. I'm also here to remind you that your AA is a fast ranged AoE you can cast while running away, with an extremely fine 0.75 coefficient, so it's not the end of the world YOU CAN STILL PLAY THE GAME.
  13. Tested it in pvp. Wouldn't play it, for the reasons that follow - TLDR: every skill is way too slow, both animations and projectiles. People move out of the way before you can land your super slow support skills. In particular, I noticed ABOUT THE SKILLS - Friendly Fire: Notable exception for good design. Actually fine for what it's supposed to do, both mechanically and numerically, and the numbers on the healing from clones are also fine. Thanks for making it a projectile finisher, too. If only a random bubble didn't prevent you from supporting your allies, that is. 8/10 - Journey: Cast time is miserable enough already as it is, but why can't it be retargeted mid-cast? Why does it have 0.5s between the end of the animation and the cast? This is not the first time I notice this, what is exactly your problem with mesmer having so many nonsensical delays between end of cast time and the skill actually doing something? Swords of Decimation has 0.5s cast time, but it takes 1.15s before the skill lands; Rain of Swords has 0.75s cast time, but it takes 1.9s before the skill starts landing, Bladesong Sorrow has 0.35s cast time but it takes 1s before the projectiles actually shoot, Phantasmal Duelist has 0.5s cast time, but it takes 1s before the three projectiles actually shoot, all phantasm skills hit whenever they feel like. Consider making mesmer skills less cinematic and more playable, because they never kittening land. Just remove these nonsensical delays, since you can't even redirect your skill with instant targeting. 6/10 - Inspiring Imagery: should not use the projectile from staff ambush. Not just because it's too slow (even though it definitely is): I need to know the name of the designer who saw the holes in Kylo and was like "you know what? Rifle mesmer should be countered by THIS". 5/10 - Phantasmal sharpshooter: we reworked phantasmal warlock so that it's an actual skill, so we needed a new useless skill to take its place? 0.75s cast time, then the sharpshooter sits on its kitten for 30 minutes, then it shoots a projectile which, (assuming it wasn't blocked by any random bubble) does no damage, no significant conditions and consists entirely of a very short stun. Back to the design board you go with this one. 3/10 - Singularity shot: great idea, but the projectile needs to be faster; casting a portal should be an extremely reactive decision, and this slow projectile just can't keep up with how fast most players move. 8/10 Now, the skills themselves aren't technically that bad. BUT. LET'S DISCUSS THE OVERALL DESIGN - Overall, the weapon lacks any real clone generation; a problem when enemies already have a very easy time killing your very fragile NPCs. You will not be able to use your class mechanic. - These new weapon skills are designed to support from range, but the support traits will proc in melee. Now, mesmer can't be melee in teamfights because of the whole "clones\phantasms die immediately", so the whole time I'm unsure about what to do. The obvious answer would be going virtuoso to be comfortable at range (assuming someone bothers to hit you to give you blades), but... virtuoso is totally selfish. Why would you go on a totally selfish class to support? The idea of a ranged support would be good on any class except mesmer, because mesmer provides everything in melee; and staying in melee will never work until your mechanic is tied to fragile NPCs (and the clone from rifle2 is also spawned on top of your target, to make sure it NEVER kittenING SURVIVES) - On top of that, you're a walking talking target. You have exactly 0 tools to peel for yourself. Guardians have the shield knockback to shake off unwanted attention (on top of excellent self healing), spellbreakers have full counter on some extremely affordable cooldown (still bugged, thanks), tempests with mag aura\shocking aura will shake off a lot of unwanted attention. You don't have any movement nor decent CC to do that.
  14. I have no idea what it represents but that smiling thing cracks me up
  15. PVP SCUM POSTING FROM A PVP BIASED PERSPECTIVE Most skills feel like some reskinned guardian skill, and it's not what I'd love about mesmer. The portal is some very unique mechanic -which I really love- and I'd dig further into that. Give us some way to break targeting + summon a clone of our allies (to peel off with misdirection), give us a bouncy AA with short cripple + swiftness (again, to peel for our allies), give us a skill to switch place with one of our allies and look like them for some seconds so the opponents will focus us instead of them (and also allow some selfish survivability; shoot at your own clone somewhere else and get out of any sticky situation), give us a bullet to stealth one of our allies... dammit, mesmer is about unique mechanics, not just raw numbers! Yeah, our fellow PvE enjoyers might find these skills questionably useful when clearing the same raid for 45 weeks in a row, but honestly if you want to play support just take some alac chrono spam with a tiny bit of boon duration and overcap on alacrity or whatever, it works just fine or so I hear.
  16. THE WEAPON ISN'T EVEN RELEASED YET AND WE ALREADY HAVE A NERF THREAD
  17. this absolute madman spits straight facts every time he opens his mouth, it's unbelievable.
