  1. Exactly this. If someone put me on blast about my performance on support I'd just say, "then you do it" , drop group, change to a roaming build and they can F off.
  2. Go to the Heroics vendor in PVP. That's all I'm going to say.
  3. Not impossible, but much more difficult, and the framing is hard for me to see when focused on fight as my monitor is pretty big so that framing is in my periphery at best, but I get what you're saying.
  4. Did 10 total attempts with PUGs Sunday. Had in the description to please bring a meta build for solid comp. What I got was a lot of wait time just to get people using new specs they had little real knowledge of and dps under 1k for most of them. When your alacrigade(me) is #2 dps (~10k sustained) something is wrong with the world. Chief complaints: stacking with circles, ignoring the Numerals overhead (which is impossible to see with commander tag on), not kiting, and 1-1-1-1-1. All of this after lengthy explanation of mechanics. I don't rage, but I did get really tired of trying. Esp when you get peanut gallery comments from someone who was out in the first stage. TBH, I had a headache by the 9th attempt. I'm kinda feeling like I don't need a turtle at this point.
  5. Got online for a bit this morning and my bot was making slivers again. Yay.
  6. Got 12 slivers right after adding unit and none since after hours playing and tons of junk drops. Did bug report in game, we'll see I guess.
  7. I would agree. I got to run with a guild group from another server, liked their style and discord and I'll be swapping Thursday. I think people fail to see through to endgame on these changes. No more paying to change servers, you're just stuck until pairings end and then you (or even your whole guild ) can change alliances. The backend balance tweaks should help with lopsided matches, and hopefully bandwagoning. (I have some doubts on this simply because any system works until you add people actively trying to game it. As far as the beta itself, I picked my guild, ended up on the right shard, and have had few issues other than massive queues during primetime NA and once through with the recycling queue. I've see way rougher betas. Plus I purposely picked a guild that isn't on my default server to test.
  8. I just learned the default placement and stuck with it.
  9. I see your point, although I'm not completely convinced that it couldn't work. Fusang was designed for up to three 150 man teams, Templar, Illuminati, and Dragon (Red, Blue and Green - unsurprisingly) so it's interesting to see if something can be drawn from the alternate model, given the similarities. Edit: The beacon you're referring to being Secret World Legends? If so that's a rebooted game with all of the IP and none of the good stuff from the original. It's dead because Funcom made it so. Was still an excellent IP and worth a solo story playthrough if nothing else. But yeah, doesn't look good on metrics.
  10. Not a recommendation per se, but when my G600 takes a dump I want to try out the EVGA X15, look very sexy. Plus I have large hands and I want bigger buttons for the thumb actions. I loved that Razer Trinity for the 8 button wheel but the mouse itself was trash.
  11. I think you misunderstood me. An alliance or guild would never end up opposing each other, They just would have only their max get in. The excess would have to either wait for pop cap balance (by other players on the lowest pop faction moving to that map) or go to other maps (similar to how it works now when we queue out a map) I hope that clarified it.
  12. Another MMO I used to play (The Secret World) had a 3-way persistent PVP warzone, call Fusang Projects. They controlled population by having a +/- strategy per side and an almost invincible ally that spawned if you were outnumbered heavily. So I figured that sliding map cap sizes might be the solution to some issues with map crowding basically your color would be limited to no more than 10-15 over the lowest color's population. Each map would register this independently so if for example EBG is pop-capped for your faction you could try one of the others. As more players moved to the lowest pop server the caps would raise for the largest. TSW also had an "equal footing" combat buff for being outnumbered, but it kind of sucked. In thinking about Tiers mattering TSW did have a cool effect where while your faction controlled certain objectives for a period of time all allied players got a non-combat buff depending on the value of the objective.. Even PVEers. It's similar to the PIP scaling but with impact for everyone on your server, or alliance as we move that direction. Might be hard to implement with GW2 but was a neat thing to not only bring attention to the game mode but to make the factions try harder. I'm just thinking out loud here, feel free to tear into it. 13. and I want to say that I hope you all have a great 2022, (even you trolly Mag Roamers). WvW, even with all the shortcomings, has been a great time for me through the past two extremely difficult years. I know of no other competitive gaming format that comes close. Looking back, I feel an immense sense of gratitude that we had this thing we shared where we beat each other to a pulp, saved friends, routed invaders, supported other guilds, talked trash, joked, fumed, raged, theory-crafted, danced with giant frogs, ran from zergs, rolled with a zerg over hapless roamers, farmed SMC, built siege, tore down walls, rode giant kitties, tested new specializations, tested the beginnings of Alliances, and many other things. You were all a part of that, and I appreciate you all being there. Much respect, Panda Maximus
  14. I missed the window for tagging up with my alliance and got put on a random , shard? , I believe. I'm not a great roamer; not horrible either, but I found roaming to be much more fun that what I faced in T1-T2 all the time. While I do enjoy the large scale battles with huge zergs, the 1-5 man skirmishes are just as fun sometimes and I don't have a Tag barking orders in my ear. I think we've got a bunch of crybabies sometimes...
  15. It's never worth taking SMC as the synthies in there are utter trash (sniff).
  16. Rangers are fine. Sure they don't work in the current 2support/3dps party comp as there are better classes for dps, but they can be very good. A single Immobeast can help out a ton, especially against melee heavy comps. Our guild used to run theme nights and when we ran "ranger night" and had 40+ person called-spike Barrages we devastated other teams easily. It's a one trick pony, but was fun for that night. But it speaks to the limitation in theory-crafting and strategy/tactics in the current game state. Honestly, anything can be good if you work it, and meta is only meta until something breaks it.
  17. Especially once you have to declare a wvw guild for your alliance. Then we minimize the "three purple tags on EBG" effect. Players can instantly see where their guild is to join up. Just aQoL suggestion, throw it on the pile with all the other stuff you folks are working on. Thanks for all the work, devs!
  18. I've got an alt account on SBI and I stepped into wvw with a toon.... Mag is just next level toxic , even to each other. Very sad and juvenile, and I feel bad for folks that are stuck with them. I'm also glad my main account is on a server that really works at being supportive and kind to each other. While stomping the yard.
  19. Speaking as someone with extensive nerve damage in his hands I saw this on my achievement screen and just sunk. It's almost sadistic.
  20. You are absolutely right. For some reason I saw that only as the gem timeframe. Still want to know if you get HoT; it reads like you don't.
