  1. You call the class "weak", but you solo things that your renegade can't. The bottom line is that core necro trades damage for tank. In areas where this works (PvP, solo open world, WvW roaming), it is a great trade off. In high level PvE where you want damage and active skills for defense, this trade-off makes the class weaker. In WvW zergs, you can still get by using boon corruption as your main focus, but you really need to be good at staying with the team. I will say this. Coincidently, I've just revisited my condi necro, and was surprised to discover that dhuumfire is much weaker in PvE than in WvW. Burn is the best damage condi, so that simple difference explains a lot.
  2. Not carried. I want them to fight, thats all. Personally i did <meh>. I know i have a lot to learn. I just despuse leeches who want participation for doing nothing.
  3. 8 or so years ago I tried pvp, and kept dealing with players (both sides) who simply stood around and didn't fight. I tried a few matches again this morning, and again, someone doesn't fight. Look, I stink, you stink, whatever. Get out there and get bloody, die, and try again. Don't just stay back. ANET, this is not a hard thing to fix. Random enforcement by observing matches for a minute or two will quickly find people. Issuing bans from the game mode for 1 hour, 1 week, forever (for repeat offenses) should be sufficient to get rid of the majority of these people. -Jeff P.S. Our players and their players were reasonably matched otherwise. They weren't wiping the floor with us, they simply had us outnumbered. P.P.S. I usually play WvW, and while this is a bigger problem there, it doesn't affect the outcome nearly as much.
  4. Thanks all very much for the suggestions. Interestingly enough I went through a phase a few years back playing an EMT scourge in WvW, running around keep fights trying to see how many lives I could save, so maybe I should resurrect that build if I still have the gear...though like you say, it's easy enough to buy. Yes, certainly. It's all the other open world mechanics I've run into, like circles where you need to be inside them or die, or donuts of death, or safe circles to run to at specific moments, etc.
  5. I'd like a build that's easy, no piano playing, and practice it until I can get through Kaineng Overlook just once to get my turtle. I don't want to be a burden on the group, so if it's a support build that's fine. I know I'm going to screw-up no matter how many vids I watch, but at least maybe I can minimize the complexity for myself. Any suggestions? I'll take niche, I'll take overpowered, whatever. I just want to get this monkey turtle off my back. 🙂 (I usually play WvW. I'm pretty good at reading the zerg, stunbreaks, condi-clears, etc. I'm just very bad at understanding PvE mechanics and their cues, and horrible at piano-playing rotations.)
  6. The problem is it's pet-by-pet, tweak by tweak. About the only universal change I can think of is to make pet's ranged attacks much faster so they land more easily. Outside of that, you really need to go through the laborious process of changing each pet one at a time.
  7. NERF? What was the impact? He danced around awhile and then pulled one person to their death? Then what; run all the way back and repeat? How is this OP in any sense? It's just meme-fodder, like warriors luring people up the mountain and then fearing them off (or Necros, etc). It's just some dude creating a video, not the end of balance in WvW. Nerf. Hah.
  8. Yes, they should just turn off minis in groups. As you say, there's far worse a solo player can do if they put their mind to it, and if a solo player wants to show-off their mini, I'm fine with that.
  9. I thought I'd try out mace/mace in wvw, just cause I never see it. The zerg moved in, started to jump back, and I used mace 5 to see if I could get the tail...only nothing happened and it looked like it reflected back on me. Then I re-read the skill, and it said it was a physical projectile combo finisher. Seriously, now the shockwave can be reflected? No wonder this thing doesn't get used.
  10. What the subject says - can i use SoM while channeling my finisher? I know AoEs can still hit me while stealthed, just want to see if this is an option.
  11. Willbender is a strong roamer in wvw, where mobility is a huge advantage. I imagine its weaker in pve where your mobility doesnt mean that much.
  12. Adrenaline should provide a benefit, like a heal tick, or quickness (or sonething). Then spending it for a burst would be an interesting decision. After that, balance the power of the burst vs price in adrenaline.
  13. You're ignoring the 20% recharge to skills 2-5. Im not saying your other points are wrong, but 20% recharge is a decent benefit.
  14. I stink at stories (pve in general). I can't figure out the puzzles, spend inordinate amount of times figuring where to click, etc. I need a build that will help me survive my stupidity. I'd really prefer to stay with virtuoso, but core is an option as well. Any suggestions? background - I'm trying to unlock the beetle and skyscale. I've done mostly wvw, but I jump back to pve sometimes to do stories as a change of pace. I usually just die over and over until I finish, so I've done a fair amount of the story already. The first episode was pure torture for me, so I'm hoping there's a better build out there.
  15. Yeah, get your icky wvw nonsense out of our warrior forums. Everyone knows warriors are pve-only!
  16. I haven't fought against Mag in a long time, but the big thing that set them apart, IMO, was their veteran puggers. Every server (with exceptions) has tight guilds and great duellists, but Mag's pugger's make stuff happen. Where must puggers (me included, I ain't special) stand around the blob waiting for that one big kill, Mag's pugger's run off and cap a camp, start building a cata on a T3 tower, and see how far they can get. Or they circle to spawn and spend a few minutes killing people running to the fight. I know there are individuals on any server that does these things, but I think Mag's puggers make more happen than any other server, and I think that adds up over time.
  17. I appreciate the move to 2 crisper dodges from 1 slow dodge. It feels better. I'm disappointed that the necessary trait adjustments are being doing reactively, rather than proactively with QA. If it was one or two missed items I would be more lenient, but all of us saw this stuff coming, so you should have too. To echo someone above and add - thanks for the memes, it was fun, but you shouldn't have let it happen.
  18. Yes, if you're playing at a bad time it will be empty. Also, many commanders run invisibly because of spies. Honestly, this is much more of a PvE complaint. WvW is mostly just abbreviations that you suss-out once you learn the objectives, e.g. NC = north camp, NWT=northwest tower, wurm gate=north gate at bay that's near the veteran worm. I grant that it's hard as a beginner, but I find it much easier than the college-level prep courses needed for a fractal/strike/raid. I have never had this. I sometimes login, port to various keeps to farm resources, don't find fights, get pips, leave.
  19. Clearing condis can give back endurance as well, so you dont need to hit your blob's center of mass each time. You do need resistance and stab, but that's nit hard. All before you choose to press a skill. 🙂
  20. Adding a new instance to further thin out the player-base is a non-starter, I think. Replacing a map with EOTM for change's sake would be amusing. Actually, for the lower tiers that never fill up, it would be interesting to have one EBG and one EOTM map (nobody has their own map) to see what happens.
  21. You're not going to get far on these forums with these complaints. Mathematically, you either need to raise the number of players or reduce the number of maps they're divided among. But the karma gatherers don't want to fight other people, so they're happy with the status quo in regards to population, and they'll cry bloody murder if you take away off-maps forcing them to actually face people for their dailies. Yes, there's a core of people who actually like wvw and want fights, but the more vocal population screams if you try to take their free stuff.
  22. Uh, no, not powerful. Kill shot warrior can be fun at times when skirmishing at the edge of a zerg, or in small groups, but its not a powerful build overall. You do it for the occasional lolz, that's all.
  23. Dang it, missed that. Thank you. Another idea tossed to the heap. Thou shalt not do condi damage with thine rifle, for thy lord anet hath granted thee a pistol for such unseemly damage. 🙂
