  1. Thank you for tightening up my English. When I said Fail, it was meant in the context of if the pre events weren't done within the timer for luring out the Shatterer, then the Shatterer spawn would fail. I've seen that happen a few times where people just sat and assumed the Pre's were being done. Anyway enough replying to fretting. OP's post warrants Anet looking at it.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I've been playing since release, have run 13 characters (comprising of at least 1 of each class) through every single bit of open world content and know the events and maps like the back of my hand. Im well aware it runs slower with more people. Back in the day when there were a lot of participants in these pre events, the they were always done within the time and rarely failed. You are fretting over nothing. If and it is an if, Anet decided to implement something like the OP or I suggested to boost rewards based on participation of pre events, you can be assured that people would do them.
  3. I disagree on both counts. You forget the pre events scale. Showing up wouldn't be an issue due to the fact that if they granted a buff that increased the quality of your loot, you can bet your bottom dollar that people would be waiting at the pre-vent spawn points in order to complete them and get the buff I proposed. As an example, it doesnt seem to cause any problems at the Ice Pillars that spawn before Claw of Jormag is shot down.
  4. The OP's suggestion is in my opinion reasonable. It isn't confined to Pinata though, you see it with The Shatterer pre events, Behemoth and a few others. Large numbers of people waiting around content to let others do the pre events. I've said for quite some time that the pre-events should grant a buff. It doesn't give increases to damage, but instead removes the "Common" drops from the loot table and forces the game to pick from the remaining loot tiers. That way everyone, even if you "turn up late" gets loot, but those that have taken part in the pre events get slightly better loot. It rewards playing the game as it is supposed to be played.
  5. You say you ported to Jaka Itzel WP and then moved around Maguuma harvesting plants? Which maps specifically? If they're any of the HoT maps they won't progress Maguuma Jungle Forager, since they're Heart of Maguuma not Maguuma Jungle. If you read the writing on the actual achievment it states which maps will allow progression of this achievment. They are - Caledon Forest, Metrica Province, Brisban Wildlands, Sparkfly Fen and Mount Maelstrom. If you didnt harvest in those five maps it will not progress from 75% to 100%
  6. From your ingame settings there isn't anything over the top, in fact it looks like you've dropped a few to their lowest settings. If you want to get a few more fps out of the game, turn shadows off completely. Try altering Frame Limiter from Unlimited to 60 or even 30 and see if it makes a difference to your machine. Whiilst its not going to make any storage drive on your computer faster, it will take a little pressure off the processor and the graphics card. I suspect if you have a mechanical hard drive in your system (you don't say if it is a Desktop or Laptop), that this may well be the bottleneck. Getting that data to load quickly is half the battle and having a slow storage drive may well be what is causing stuff to load in slowly.
  7. It will all depend on a number of things Your Processor speed the amount of memory your computer has the type of storage device you have (i.e. a mechanical hard drive or SSD) the amount of programs running at the same time as the game (if any) your graphic card in your machine your in game graphic settings Tell us about the above and also post a screenshot or give us details as to what all the ingame settings are set to and I'm sure there will be a few posts helping you out.
  8. This happens occassionally with Google Drive if you have that installed on your Computer. Doesn't happen very often on my machine and I think it happens when it does a particular type of file synch or installed an update to itself. If it's happening near the hour regularly then it sounds like some sort of Sync that your computer is doing on a schedule? iCloud or Microsoft Onedrive?
  9. Question to any GW2 Developer reading this (or indeed anyone who designs games/graphics/maps). Why is there so much hidden under the map surface of GW2? Sometimes you can fall through the surface and see large areas and blocks of scenery extending far below the "ground" level of the map. Are these parts still rendered when "invisible" from the surface? I presume they've already been loaded into memory? Can they not be "cut" and removed from the game data? Is this partly the cause of the problem that the players are experiencing? (Apologies if I'm using simplistic terminology, I'm not a programmer).
  10. Had exactly the same thing happen to me a few days ago. Evon had just got to the top of the ramp leading onto the plaza with the ruined Lion Statue. I was fighting the Aetherblades around him when he suddenly turned around, walked up into the air and warped back to his starting point!
  11. Some interesting changes. Nice to see that they're going to make some classes work a little more for their damage/heals rather than just camp an ability/weapon and position.
  12. Started the latest episode of Living Story 1 - The Twisted Marionette and encounterd a bug. Playing solo and with a Renegade. First "mini boss" fight is with a Champion Regulator Warden I. This enemy blocks attacks from the front. Ok, so this is going to be a little challenging with only one player but lets give it a go. It seemed to have a fair amount of HP and the tracking arrow from it towards my character was almost laser like in its focus, resulting in a lot of blocks. It took a bit of time but eventually I managed to kill it (bit more on this shortly). Damaged the power regulator and then progressed to the second "mini boss" fight, the Champion Regulator Warden II. Fairly easy fight and it fell quite quickly compared to first encounter. So I then attack the power regulator again and damaged it. This is where I encountered a bug that stopped progression. Nothing moved forward. Despite me having damaged my power regulator there were some orange crossed swords alongside another platform, indicating that the regulator on that platform hadn't been damaged. Problem was, the NPC who should have been on that platform - Marjorie was missing. I hadn't noticed this until this point. So no NPC and no damage done to the regulator resulted in a stall. At this point I decided to quit the mission and ended up back in Lornar's pass to restart. After speaking to Taimi I went up to the forcefield where you enter the Boss fight and decided to get a drink before starting the fight. I had been away about 2 minutes. On entering the boss fight Tamai had somehow managed to take out almost half of the Champion Regulator Warden I's health on her own, this is despite on the first go doing very little damage. It just seemed very odd that in my first fight this enemy was quite tough and yet on the second fight without me being present an NPC had reduced it to 50 health! Something definately odd going on with the instance and in any event the bug that I encountered stops progression. Can someone at Anet take a look and actually, dare I say it, playtest this stuff? A bug report was sent from my account in game for their info.
  13. Just a thought, but there are quite a few foot pedal controllers used by Flight simulator enthusiasts which can be remapped to different key presses. Might be worth a look. There are definately two and three pedal combinations, which could help wth things like Strafe, rotate left and right or even dodging.
  14. Examining the collection you will see that to get the Vindicators Cache you have to finish Map completion for Echovald Forest as a Revenant. To do that you need to obtain the Vasburg Armory Point of Interest, which is inside the mini dungeon protected by Lucas Vasberg, you can only enter the dungeon (and get the Poi) when he goes hostile and you defeat him.... To the OP Lucas regularly bugs out and cannot be fought. People have posted on these forums and reported in game., but they're either unable to work out why its happening or not bothered. I suspect if Lucas was a chair that people had paid gems for and he had a slightly misplaced texture they probably would hot fix it. (Edit- according to the wiki the bug occurs when Lucas is killed fully rather that brought to 50% where he surrenders and becomes friendly and allows you access to the Dungeon) The only way to do it is to map swap onto another instance, which does happen quite a bit.
  15. Thanks for your input, if you have any thoughts perhaps post them rather than (postcount)+1 We're having a reasonable discussion here.
  16. You're not being dismissive but probably playing devils advocate, thats ok, that's what a forum is for, discussion. There are more than enough single static spawns in the game and areas I mentioned for normal players to kill. These players are setting up in areas where there are very fast respawns of multiple npcs. In any event think about it, you're saying that my idea would cause "geniune" player to take longer to complete content "genuinely" - well they cannot kill the enemies Im talking about because the AFK macrobots have already killed them superfast. In fact if you care to do a search on the forums, there are lots of posts about the AFK Macrobots killing the Ghosts at the wall in Iron Marches so fast that players cannot find enough to complete the heart there. Talk about harming "genuine" players experiences - well there it is. As regards a zone or area sweeper, my idea was off the top of my head. I'm sure Anet could come up with something. That said I wasn't advocating something like the Tornado in Jahai or Dragons Stand, they're definately annoying. The sort of sized brandstorm I would propose would be about 500 units across and not drag people in. It would path and if you were static, port you to a random location in the zone, perhaps even just a Waypoint. It would definately break up the AFK farms.
  17. There are usually two groups farming the branded just north of Lake Desolann in Iron Marches. They are all Asura engineers, all the same level, dressed in the same clothes who are there for hours. The other groups of Asura engineers can be spotted in Blazeridge Steppes, one group can be spotted north of the Lowland Burns waypoint amd farms Branded, whilst the other group can be found east of Ferrusatos Village in Splinter Hills and farms Drakes. Another group can be found in Desert Highlands to the northwest of Derelict Delve waypoint, farming a fast spawning group of Minotaurs. Theyre clearly a coordinated set of characters, probably all controlled from the same location. There are two easier ways to fix this issue. 1) increase the spawn time/reduce the number of enemy spawning. One thing that all these spots have in common is that they have fast respawns with multiple enemies appearing in waves. 2) Add zone sweepers. One of the things that Anet doesnt seem to have is zone sweepers, i.e. enemies that have special abilities or cannot be killed. Players who are genuinely at their keyboard will have no issues with these enemies as they path through the area since they can simpy move and avoid them. As an example perhaps add whirling brandstorms (bit like a small tornado) that path through the areas in Blazeridge Steppes where a lot of these players congregate. If it hits them, it teleports them to a random spot. If they're genuine players and at their keyboard they'll either move prior to this happening or if they are teleported, they will move back to the area. There are lots of things Anet could do to split up these small concentrated groups of players without really impacting on genuine players.
  18. What I find interesting in this thread, indeed all threads like this, is the lack of information about settings/programs running etc., Saying I have X Processor Y Memory and Z Graphics card really isn't very helpful. Sure GW2 should run perfectly smooth on these high end bits of kit but we all know that this is only part of the picture. The game was released in 2012. The code is likely older. What OS are you using? What additional programs are running on your machine? Post a picture of the graphic settings you have set in game. What is the version number of the graphic card driver? Sure it may well be a problem with the maps, but a little more information would be useful, particularly the in game settings.
  19. Good grief. This thread is a masterclass on how people end up with thousands of forums posts argue over minutiae. /thread already.
  20. On the Sic Em Roamer build yes I do use GS/LB, the Bow is mainly to soften up the target. Most of the time I will use Greatsword. Every time I see a Ranger with a bear pet camping the LB in openworld my heart sinks a little, Don't camp the LB all the time. You will never develop the skills required to dance around an enemy and that is exactly what a Ranger can do. Definately not boring.
  21. I've got two Soulbeasts. One is the metabattle wvw Sic em Roamer build, which I use for both WvW roaming and Open world maps (mainly because I cannot be bothered swapping stuff/stats around when moving from game modes). It doesn't have a problem staying alive or killing stuff solo in any open world/living story map. This is the build page https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Soulbeast_-_Sic_'Em_Roamer The other is Lord Hizens condition build, for open world maps. Again no issues killing stuff or staying alive. This is the link to the build http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?POwAgi%2FlZweYRMJGKeqXfP3REH-zRJYkRLfZkZK0bBo3BIctwbh3PN-e Best advice I can give in HoT zones is watch what is happening under your feet. Those area effect circles from enemies can soon add up and can cause problems. Don't think you can stand there and facetank stuff - move. You have mobility, a good range of weapons offering close up and range damage, the ability to merge and unmerge from pets, you can hold an enemy in a spot with an unmerged pet giving you the ability to move and give yourself some space from it and hit with ranged weapon, then when the pet dies, merge and unmerge and repeat. The Lord Hizen build is a lot of fun.
  22. You don't even have to create an account, just add the following to any broken wiki URL without any spaces between the existing URL and the additional command below. ?action=purge
  23. It does beg the question though, that if there is Chinese data, for example cut scene subtitles, text for windows/interface etc., baked into the data files, as to why they cannot allow players who are of Chinese origin living outside of China, to select this language officially?
  24. I know the locations you are talking about and yes unfortunately there are lots of Necromancers farming that area. That said, you can fill the heart by killing the grawl heading up the hill towards "The Great Oouo" point of interest.
  25. I'm sure Lord Hizen would disagree with the OP. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpBh4KskobjRShM5_I02FsoM9_EP5_AKU
