  1. Don't use the Skyscale for most of it, use Gliding instead. I'll refer you to this thread in which I've made a reply on how to do it.
  2. Think I did use the Jade bot glide boost as well. Think its a bit of pot luck hitting that cart without the Skyscale clinging on, which is a nuisance.
  3. It took me a few tries to get it. Like a lot of people I thought "ah Skyscale" - but I found that wasn't the best way to do it. Rather than use skyscale use Glide instead. From the top cart glide down to each successive cart. Next drop down and glide to the 1st one in the next lowest sequence, you can glide to the next two as well since theyre lower. The next one I used Skyscale to fly up to it. The next few checkpoints are on the cliiff top so theyre easy to run over. The last one is quite a way down so dismount from sksycale and glide down to it. In each case as you're gliding towards the target cart cancel glide and drop onto the top of the cart as you are directly over the cart. Hope this helps.
  4. Under the achievments Collections/Basic collections there is a group called Eagle Eye Weapon Collector. It involves unlocking 16 Eagle eye weapons, which can either drop from chests or can be purchased from the BLTC. I've purchased them and salvaged each of them to unlock each skin. However for some reason the Eagle Eye sword will not unlock in the collection. I've repurchased two more and re-salavaged one - it still didnt work and with the other I right clicked the sword but does not give the ability to "unlock skin" - its there on the right click menu but greyed out. As a result the collection cannot be completed.
  5. Mentioned this the other day. The SoTO Character screen music is a prime example.
  6. Errrr, what on earth is going on with this? The enviromental sounds drown the music out for quite some time (and yes my speakers are set up correctly and working fine). Compared to the other soundtracks it is absolutely insipid and "generic" in it's feel. Definately not epic in any way shape or form. I was waiting for it to build into something but it failed to deliver. Just had another listen. It's sad when you're listening to the bird tweeting noises rather more than the music when the music is playing. What on earth happened? The previous character screen themes were epic and I know that the musicians you use are good, but this sorry big thumbs down.
  7. Firstly as a player of two rangers, I would agree that the coefficient on Porcine Mauls needs to be adjusted. It is hitting a little too hard. That said it shouldn't be nerfed to oblivion, it should pose some danger to players who face tank it. Also please don't compare apples and oranges. Sure lets give Maul a shave but if you're giving false equivilences then lets play that game - give Arcing Slice and Dragonstooth cooldown increases to equal Porcine Maul i.e an increase of 4 seconds to 15 seconds . Lets also decease their radius to 130 from 100 and 900... lets also reduce the number of targets they can hit from 5 to 1. Lets remove the combo blast from Dragons tooth and the increased damage from Arcing slice for targets under 50% health along with the 20% critical chance. Whats that? Oh you don't like that? No I dont suppose you do. It would be foolish to go through with those changes. Theyre nasty skills and punish those that dont react. This is the same as Maul (and yes I will remind you that it does need coefficient shaves in this joke of a game mode, pvp). The thing is you are only going to whine about the next "opverpowering" spec that floats to the surface when you deal with Rangers. Its fools errand to keep asking for nerfs on classes.
  8. Fairly certain when I did this achievment I went to Sorrow's Cave (its the cave with the lone bear sitting on the floor). Just past the bear is an area with a number of bats. They're fairly well spaced out and easy to clear. Once they start repopping you just kill them one after another.
  9. Voted No. I don't think it has got worse. The overwhelming majority of people in game are decent and helpful. There are obviously exceptions to this but by and large bad behaviour in game isn't as common as in some other games. If you do encounter rude/abusive players then it tends to be in PvP and WvW but even there I've noticed less /whispers than usual. You do get the odd person who wont quit but perhaps they have some real life issues, doesn't excuse their behaviour but you just don't know what they're going through. The forums have a lot of helpful people, but they do have some individuals who would probably argue with their own reflection in a mirror. I think we all know who they are. Sadly they often end up derailing threads that get closed which is a great shame with many of the threads. Overall the players tend to be a lot better behaved than other similar games.
  10. Must admit when I saw the picture under the Kryptis Heading in the Devs post at https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/after-the-dragon-cycle/ it reminded me of the Sceptre Antonina https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Antonina and the Mace Sikander https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sikandar
  11. Have you checked to see if your firewall is allowing the Chromium embedded Framwork host for Guild wars 2 to access the Internet. The actual program is called CefHost.exe and should reside in the bin64\cef folder inside your main Guild Wars 2 folder The Chromium framework is used to render the Trading post and in-game books. Might be a possible cause of your issue? As the above poster has mentioned it is worth creating a support ticket for assistance, at least then you will get a one to one response.
  12. It appears that the wiki highlights some issues with this particular achievment. If you scroll down to the bottom of the following page on the Wiki, you will see the achievement you are trying to do. It has a note on it that says 1) Southsun Cove doesn't have any Vistas, 2) The suggested locations are wrong 3) Progression sometimes doesnt work. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Adventure_Guide:_Volume_Five So it appears that there may be some problems completing that particular achievment.
  13. To the OP, visit Tanetris' page on the Guild Wars 2 Wiki https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Tanetris/So_You_Want_To_Gear_a_Character Has a lot of good advice and information as to where to get ascended gear from all the different expansions and maps. Many achievments have ascended rewards and many of the living story maps have collectable currencies with which to purchase ascdended items from vendors. The advantage of the above guide is that clicking on the links on the page takes you directly to the items and how to get them within the Wiki.
  14. https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/ It even has a section specifically for Guild Wars race names which can be found from the main page by clicking on the "Pop Culture" heading then Guild Wars.
  15. The thing is, any class can kill thieves. I know I've done it, so have countless others. Having said that obviously there are variables. Perhaps the thieves I took on weren't skilled? Perhaps they had a sub par build that may have just encountered a build that I had that could kill them.? I've also encountered thieves that I just couldn't kill and they couldn't kill me - a stalemate. Then the last group are the ones that were really skilled and I just couldnt kill - they killed me everytime. Thats how the game goes. I agree that the rock/paper/scissors quote is mentioned a lot and thats quite simplistic. Its much more granular. You have to take into account the class, build, stats and equipment and their skill level. Any one of those might just be better than you. It's just easier to say rock/paper/scissors., but the fact remains a skilled player with a good knowledge of their class is a nightmare to play against, irrespective of the class. I thought as much and it isn't questionable. There should not be a juggernaut class that can do everything. If that was the case what the hell do you think would happen? Thats right all the really skilled players would simply take that and wipe the floor with everyone. Well judging from the PvP and WvW subforums, they seem to be doing rather well given the complaints against them. I think Ele definately have enough tools to counter most things.... Well seven of the nine classes have the ability to spec revealed even if its an elite spec, so pardon me if my mathematics isn't up to scratch but 7 is more than 2? Have you played Thief? If not perhaps try it. Again not siding with Thieves since I play all classes, but I think you might find that it isn't all its made out to be. There are quite a few classes that have it far far easier with all their abilities......
  16. If I recall correctly there are only two classes that do not have any reveal abilities - Elementalist and Mesmer. Everyone else has the ability to use a specialisation, equip a utility skill or press an F skill (Dragonhunter's Spear of Justice or Engineer Detection Pulse). That's hardly some, it is most. So you play a light class? Mesmer, Elementalist or Necromancer? Two of those classes are very mobile, its a case of equipping the right skills. Even Necromancer has a limited port if you equp Summon flesh worm. Interestingly those two very mobile light or "caster" classes as you call them, are the very ones that don't seem to have reveals. They're also two classes that do very very well in a roaming situation in WvW in the right hands and can put out a massive amount of damage and can disengage easily. Lastly before you go off on one. I have two Ranger (they are not called Hunters), two Warriors, two Thieves, a Necromancer, an Elementalist, a Mesmer, two Revenants, two Engineers and a Guardian, all of which I play in most game modes to varying degrees of success. I know how frustrating it can be when you cannot counter something, but hey I refer you to the next paragraph. There shouldn't beone class that should be able to counter everything in the game all of the time. It is rock/paper/scissors. If you are dying to someone its either because your spec isn't right, their spec is better, your skill is lesser or they're a better player. You have to be strategic with your utility skills and specialisations. If you are running into the same thief time after time after time and you are dying the same way time after time after time, then experiece should tell you to go in a different direction or alter your build/swap characters.
  17. Hmm a shame since swapping out the video card could narrow down the issue. As you say your machine is running fine with everything else and seems to be running cool and stable. Its not as if even GW2 is causing it to crash. I definately think it something to do with your card, the 4090 and the way GW2 is rendering to it. I suspect the card is fine, its just that its such a high end card that very few people are using it and as a result not many people are reporting similar issues and as such its flying under the radar so to speak. Hopefully the Devs might be able to get to the bottom of it.
  18. Not irrelevant. Claiming that the class is good because it does potentially high dps on a static glem is rediculous. You aren't getting stunned. You aren't getting knocked down. You aren't getting confused - Im sure you get the idea. The damage and the DPS is only "good" if you can land it and again in any game content that is vastly different to standing next to a golem and mashing buttons in a perfect rotation. Factor in the damage mitigation a class can do and the healing output and the regeneration of its health when not getting hit, the ability to share boons to other players or clean conditions on a group, how long it's boons last, what boons it can access. That's when a class becomes "good" or "bad". DPS is only part of the equation. Rangers still need work.
  19. Much wow against a static golem... basicially those figures are total ballcocks in the real world - for all classes not just Rangers and their elites.....
  20. Certainly a long term bug, however it isn't the only thing that helps fill the heart in this area. From the Wiki the following fill the heart by the percentage amount. This is the wiki list - Kill Elder Tormented Remnants — 10% heart progress Use the Jackal's Pounce skill on Tormented Remnant Dust Devils and kill the resulting Remnant Dust Devil — 3% heart progress Hand in Runestones from killed remnants and bring them to Drojkor — 3% heart progress per runestone Run through Unbound Torment Energy while on the Jackal — 2% heart progress Bring the Unbound Energy to Drojkor, Spirit Squall while mounted on a jackal — 0-1% heart progress Run over wisps — 1% heart progress If you kill the Tormented Remants, you will get 10% towards the heart and turning in the Runestones they drop gives another 3%, doing these two will complete the heart in no time. Hope this helps those struggling to complete the heart.
  21. Nicely written. Personally I think anyone that has or achieves a full set of Legendary runes should have the ability to select any of the existing 6th stat bonus effects in the relic slot at any time. Going forward, if they add new bonus effects as relics then if a player has a full set of Legendary runes and creates the new relic, it too is added to the list of freely selectable ones in the relic slot. If a player has normal runes it just creates a relic for them to slot in As for none legendary rune users, at the very least each character on each account should get a box that allows them to select a one time relic selection. If they stick to the idea of one per account then that is a slap in the face to a lot of players and would be very unpopular. Hope the above makes sense.
  22. To the OP, having watched your video I don't think there is anything wrong with your machine. Personally I think its a rendering issue in GW2 itself. For some reason it reminds me of some issues that some players were experiencing quite a few years ago in GW2 where a similar sort of problem occurred with high end graphic cards that were released after GW2. Do you have access to another graphics card? Perhaps one a few years old? If so take out your existing card, fit that older card and the necessary drivers and see if there are still rendering issues in the same area with same graphic settings. I suspect there won't be. If there aren't then its likely to be GW2 itself, particulary in view of the fact that you aren't having any issues in any other games with your existing 4090. If it is GW2 then unfortunately its going to be a case of waiting until the Devs can fix it.
  23. Three titles with "of" in the middle? Everquest is on its 29th expansion, 23 of them have "of" in their title... 3... lol.....
  24. I chose all three across three character runs and got the hidden achievment as a result 🙂
  25. It probably isn't anything to do with your GPU unless it is overheating or faulty, since I use the same card. It runs GW2 fine under DX9 or DX11. I presume you are running some sort of Firewall? If so do you know what? Try removing any of the parameters that you have added to your GW2 desktop shortcut icon. Then if you are running a Firewall, go into the settings - most have program controls. Look for a couple of entries that look something like the following two lines - (in short you are trying to find entries for CefHost.exe and CoherentUI Host.exe to allow them to be able to access your Internet connection) This is what the entries look like on my machine using a Norton Firewall (there might be a slightly different folder hierachy on your machine but it should still be in a similar format) Chromium Embedded Framework Host for Guildwars 2 C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\bin64\cef\CefHost.exe Coherent UI - A Modern User Interface Library C:\Program Files (X86)\Guild Wars 2\bin64\CoherentUI Hoste.exe Set their Internet access to Allow. See if that works? The other thing you could try is to install the latest Nvidia Drivers. At the moment they are Version 531.68 released on 18th April 2023.
