  1. Have a carnival. Make it kind of like a tutorial. Don't provide rewards.
  2. I don't see it in chat, but there is a notification near the bottom of the screen when I swap templates.
  3. I'm not against the idea. I just don't see how ANet would profit from it. Or, at least, profit as much as they currently do. Is it worth their time/investment to code this or would it be simpler to continue with the current implementation. Only they can answer that.
  4. Yeah, so, I guess it would be back to kicking people at the end so that your friends could join and get the reward. Or, isn't this the reason that the kick ability was taken away?
  5. Yeah, exactly. OP doesn't realize his request is a big middle finger to everyone else. Anet can't accommodate everyone's situation just so they can play the game ... so they simply offer a flat rate for everyone. That flat rate is indicative of the the cost of other goods/services they offer ... so basically, if someone isn't willing to pay the entry fee, they aren't going to be a good patron once they get access anyways. ... The cost of the expansions are a good litmus test for what people are willing to pay to sustain the game. ... obviously the OP doesn't pass that test. People are not failing to realize this because Currency exchange rates are not a problem. it's real simple here ... if the product or service being offered is not worth it to someone for WHATEVER reason, don't buy it. The value of any service or item is what someone is willing to pay for it. Sure ... I don't think that changes anything I said though. Are you just clarifying something I said?Yup. ;)
  6. Unfortunately, there are players who cannot stand SAB so they are left out of any April Fools' Day shenanigans.

  8. With the current system in place you can make other looks. It just costs transmutation charges. If you don't have enough, you would need to buy them. Anet wants you to buy them. It's part of their revenue stream. Why would they want players to spend less money?
  9. They would probably not do this because they would lose the sale of transmutation charges.
  10. Yes but in GW1 in you aren't often in a position where you can't control your character. The only hard CC in GW1 was knockdown, very rarely found in pve being done to you. Hexes and conditions weren't a big problem because you have a full party with supports everywhere you go. These were only really effective against players in pvp. GW2 has KD, push, pull, float, stun, chill, fear and being knocked in the air which are all annoying af and these aren't even close to being rare. CC is about as common as any ol' condition. It makes sense to have this stuff in pvp, but pve not so much unless your goal is to annoy the hell out of people. It's an MMO. If conditions are an issue, then travel with other players/professions with the means to remedy them.
  11. This may not directly correlate. I know players who don't raid or even use templates who were waiting for character slots to go on sale. That's not to say that your point doesn't have merit; rather, it may not be a 1:1 causality.
  12. Oddly enough, by playing the storyline and completing maps granted me all of the mastery points that I needed. It's as if the game were made to do this.
  13. How many homes have you, in real life, that did not require payment for access? I pay every month for mine. I have one and it's paid off, so I no longer pay for access.
  14. A note on legendary equipment and templates: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/100933/legendary-equipment-and-templates
  15. @Infusion.7149 What an incredible post! Well done. A lot of (in my opinion) reasonable options and ideas. Thank you for taking the time.
  16. Personally, I didn't care for the bobblehead or the aviator jokes, but I didn't complain about them. When they happened, I just logged out for the day. If they did decide to do something that affects the game's visuals, then I would like for there to be some way to toggle it off. Log in, see the joke (haha laugh about it) and then toggle it off if I wanted.
  17. I thought that the whole idea of mastery points was to show that the player/character "mastered" a particular thing? Thus, why some MPs are in difficult places or have tougher guardians to fight?
