  1. I have seen someone suggest just skipping over all of the character creation until the end where you can check the name. Once you find a name that isn't already taken, that you want, then step back through creation and start from the beginning. I vote no for the independent database idea.
  2. Not too sure how you're going to include yourself in instanced content when you have such limited time?
  3. It's optional. If you don't like the mechanic, then don't use it.
  4. (sigh) Again. You can make your own subscription if you don't like the farm for gold to convert to gems process. Just pay Anet every month and get gems. Then you can buy whatever you want from the store. EDIT: Not sure what's confusing about this point.
  5. Sure. You can do this right now. Pay Anet a set amount every month and receive gems that you can then use to purchase things. Purely optional, too! Please stop trying to force a model on a game that doesn't need it, especially when you can simply do this on your own.
  6. Except, in GW2, you don't own anything. Anet owns all of the content. They grant you a license to use it.
  7. What is stopping you from paying $20 or $30 each month and using gems to purchase these items from the gem store? You can literally do your own subscription model without forcing it on every other player. And, as a bonus, you get to choose what amount you want to spend for your subscription every month!
  8. No, it doesn't have to fit into any specific thread. If you have a suggestion, place it in the thread I linked as that one is the thread that we know that the devs watch.
  9. Yeah, I think it would have been naive to think that Anet wouldn't have changed this.
  10. We have been told that the devs actively follow the stickied Suggestions thread, so your best bet would probably be to post there.
  11. Yes, but for those of us who are older, the brain exercises are just fine. It's the muscles that actually have to move within a certain reaction time which is the issue.
  12. no, the old dungeons remain. Anet no longer maintains them. Fractals replaced dungeons. Strikes are the new thing that gets more attention than fractals as they are purported to be a stepping stone to raids (which seem to be Anet's real focus).
  13. Well, with a 13+ target audience, people expected more?
  14. That's not outright saying that variants would be cheaper.
  15. Not trying to be snarky, but where did they say this? I honestly never saw it.
  16. You feel mislead? This one legendary is your deciding factor on purchasing EoD or not?
  17. IMO this is the entire design intent of not only Spectre, but pretty much all of the EoD e-specs. Anet is desperately trying to push players into strikes/raids to justify the resources being spent on them.
